 Teachers and potential entrants are reminded, that entries close for the 66th Coupe Mondiale on the 10th July 2013. Do not be late.An exciting 66th Coupe Mondiale and 130th CIA International General Assembly of Delegates Congress in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada is ready to go and will be featuring 7 international accordion categories of competitions. The first Coupe Mondiale was in 1938. CIA President Raymond Bodell and Aleksandar Milojevic (President of the BC Accordion Society, Canada) warmly welcome guests, competitors and supporters to Victoria for the 2013 Coupe Mondiale, August 18th to 25th 2013. All accordionists are invited to perform in the CIA World Accordion Orchestra VII. The first work will be ‘Danse Villageoise’, by Claude Champagne, arranged and conducted by Maureen Jarosh. The second work will be a selection from ‘Les Misérables’, by Claude-Michel Schönberg & Herbert Kretzmer, arranged and conducted by Joan Cochran Sommers, CIA Vice President and founder of the WAO. ‘Les Misérables’ will also feature the New Zealand tenor Lionel Reekie, who has sung this particular piece with several symphony orchestras recently.
