As the 2021 Gold Medalist for the Keyboard Prize at the Royal Over-Seas League (ROSL) Annual Music Competition, Ryan Corbett presented a Recital in London, England on November 1st, to a capacity audience. Born in Glasgow, Ryan Corbett is a classical accordionist who has been described as “one of Scotland’s most exciting young musicians” (The Scotsman). A graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland studying with Djordje Gajic, Ryan is a prize winner of numerous national and International competitions. Showcasing his exceptional technical command combined with rich musicianship and dynamic stagecraft, Ryan performed Prelude and Fugue in a minor (BWV 543) by Bach; Sonatas in F Major (K107) and D Major (K97) by Scarlatti; Sonata Op. 13 by Nagaev; Romance in F minor, Op. 5 by Tchaikovsky; Etude on the theme Chiquillin de Bachin by Piazzolla by Angelis and Caprice Espagnol, Op. 37 by Moszkowski. ROSL takes pride in helping launch the careers of their young musicians by offering many performance opportunities at major venues such as Wigmore Hall in London and has established relationships with many leading national and overseas music Festivals. The ROSL assists their winners with mentorship and other valuable support during these crucial early career stages, in what can be a challenging industry.
