| Die Akkordeonvereinigung Hoger Streven veranstaltet am 9. April 2022 im Zaal Lux Kapellen in Essen, Antwerpen, Belgien, einen Akkordeonmusikabend mit Auftritten belgischer Akkordeonisten. Das Publikum wird mit einer Vielfalt von Balkanmusik, Klezmer, französischem Chanson, Jazz, argentinischem Tango, klassischer Musik und eigenen Kompositionen von Ivan und Mike Smeulders, Gwen Cresens, Tuur Florizoone, Rony Verbiest und Sara Salvérius erfreut.  Video: Der Auftritt von Pietro Adragna bei Italia's Got Talent.Der Akkordeonist Pietro Adragna (Sizilien, Italien) begeisterte die Jury und das Publikum mit seinem Fernsehauftritt bei Italia's Got Talent am 23. Februar 2022. Die Juroren waren von seinem Spiel begeistert und gaben ihm vier "JA". Das Fernsehprogramm wurde auf SKY in Italien ausgestrahlt. Sie werden feststellen, dass der Name des Akkordeons verdeckt ist. Das Akkordeon wird von der Akkordeonfabrik Mengascini in Italien hergestellt, die auch Pietro Adragna sponsert. Der Name Mengascini wurde von dem Fernsehsender mit Klebeband überklebt, um kostenlose Werbung zu verhindern. |

  Die CNIMA unter der Leitung von Nathalie Boucheix bietet im April verschiedene Akkordeonkurse an, die wie folgt aussehen- Vom 11. bis 15. April 2022: Kurs für Akkordeonbegleitung mit Aurélien Noël (Bild oben links). Aurélien hat bereits Künstler wie Eddy Mitchel, Céline Dion und Roberto Alagan begleitet und wird unterrichten, wie man Solisten auf dem Akkordeon begleitet. - Vom 18. bis 22. April 2022: Diatonischer Akkordeonkurs mit Alain Pennec (Bild oben rechts). Alain Pennec, eine Schlüsselfigur der keltischen Musik, bietet technische, harmonische und rhythmische Arbeit. - Vom 18. bis 22. April 2022: Musette- und Swing-Akkordeonkurs mit Eric Bouvelle. Eric Bouvelle, Gewinner internationaler Wettbewerbe, bietet eine Vertiefung in Musette und Swing mit Arbeit an Repertoire, Arrangements und Komposition. - Vom 25. bis 29.  Joe Cerrito trat mit dem Venice Symphony Orchestra in Venice, Florida, auf, das für seine ausverkauften Konzerte bekannt ist.Am 4. und 5. Februar 2022 präsentierte das Orchester drei spektakuläre, ausverkaufte "A Night at the Oscars"-Konzerte. Der Dirigent der Venice Symphony, Troy Quinn, ist bekannt für sein "energisches und fesselndes, aber dennoch sensibles Dirigat" sowie für seine Vielseitigkeit. Er ist in der Popmusik ebenso zu Hause wie in der Oper, am Broadway und in der klassischen Musik. Für dieses Konzert wählte Maestro Quinn Oscar-gekrönte Soundtracks aus und gestaltete einen fesselnden Abend mit großartigen Werken von John Williams, Elmer Bernstein, Henry Mancini und anderen. Für einige dieser Stücke, wie 'Concerning Hobbits' aus Howard Shores Herr der Ringe: Die Gefährten des Rings und 'Love Theme' aus Nino Rotas Der Pate, wollte Quinn ein Akkordeon mitbringen. Die Wahl fiel auf den Akkordeonisten Joe Cerrito. Der in Venedig lebende Pianist Dick Hyman begrüßte die Wahl: "Natürlich haben sie sich für Joe entschieden. Er ist die beste Person für diese Aufgabe! Joes Akkordeon und seine Spielkünste gaben den Stücken die richtige Note. Das Orchester genoss es, mit Joe die Bühne zu teilen und er mit ihnen. Joe feiert nächsten Monat seinen 89. Geburtstag und ist immer noch sehr aktiv. Er spielt in Restaurants, auf Festivals und bei privaten Feiern in und um Sarasota, Florida und Providence, Rhode Island.   The Messe Frankfurt Group, organisers of the 2022 Musikmesse have regrettably announced that the April 2022 event will not take place this year due to current Covid-19 pandemic regulations.However, they are already planning to re-establish the audience format Musikmesse Plaza and Musikmesse Festival for a later year. Further details will be announced in the future. |

| Entries are now open for the 16th Annual Big Squeeze youth accordion competition, which will be held in person and online during April 2022 organised by Texas Folklife. The competition will include Cajun, zydeco and polka categories for 25 years and under and Conjunto categories for 21 years and under. The event will also include a series of virtual discussions with members of Texas’ accordion community about the future of the Big Squeeze. Competition entries will close on March 31st 2022. Conjunto Semi-Finals will be held live at the Museum of South Texas History in Edinburg on April 23rd, 2022.  Accordionist Nathan Koci accompanies Sam Sadigursky (clarinets) on his newly released 3 CD set entitled “Solomon Diaries”.The music was featured live at an event commemorating the liberation of Auschwitz at The Sheen Center in NewYork City in early 2020, and was also featured recently on the Met Museum’s weekly Balcony Bar series. CD tracks intimately fuse sounds of Jewish spiritual and Klezmer music along with classical influences, middle-eastern rhythms, jazz improvisation, and tinges of Americana. The three volume set is available on the Adhyaropa Records label. |

The group enjoy performing a mix of folk, Arabic, Celtic, funk, soul and Gypsy jazz music. Their tour, which began on March 2nd, will include concerts at 30 venues in the North and South Islands. | Radu Ratoi will give a solo recital as part of the “Martisor 2022” Festival on March 7th at 6pm. The concert will be held at the Sala cu Orga (Organ Hall) in Chisinau, Moldova. His program will include works by Bach and Liszt, as well as a new premiere for the accordion by composer Ghenadie Ciobanu. Radu will also feature pieces from his new CD “Greatest Organ Works”. |

| Vardos Trio, which includes accordionist Sophia Chapman will entertain at the Windfire Music Festival, Wesley Church, Geelong, Australia on March 12th, 2022 at 3pm. Their program entitled “From Myth to Masterpiece” will “explore the folk traditions behind classical Eastern European composers Chopin, Liszt, Bartok and Tchaikovsky.  Video: Promotionsvideo der CNIMA AkkordeonschuleDas CNIMA (Centre National et International de Musique et d'Accordéon) ist eine in Frankreich ansässige Akkordeonschule, die von dem berühmten Akkordeonlehrer Jacques Mornet und der preisgekrönten Akkordeonistin Nathalie Boucheix (links im Bild) gegründet wurde, die im kommenden Frühjahr 2022 eine CNIMA-Lehrtournee in den USA durchführen werden. Die Tournee umfasst Meisterkurse, Workshops und Vorführungen und ist offen für alle Altersgruppen, alle Niveaus und alle Stilrichtungen und eignet sich für Klavier und Knopfakkordeon. Die Tourdaten lauten wie folgt: - 25. Mai von 14.00 bis 17.00 Uhr: Akkordeon-Meisterkurs am South Oxford Place (BK) in New York City - 30. Mai um 14 Uhr bis 3. Juni um 12.30 Uhr: Viertägiger Akkordeon-Workshop in der Alliance Française in New Orleans - 5. Juni von 14.00 bis 17.00 Uhr: Akkordeon-Meisterkurs im Petosa Accordion Shop in Seattle - 9. Juni um 19 Uhr: Akkordeon-Vorführung in der Alliance Française in Los Angeles Jacques Mornet hat weltweit unterrichtet und wurde mit dem Gus-Viseur-Preis und der Silbernen Scheibe der russischen Gnessin-Akademie ausgezeichnet. 2003 erhielt er den CIA Merit Award. Mornets Technik besteht darin, das Akkordeon als Blasinstrument und nicht als Tasteninstrument zu betrachten. Der richtige Einsatz des Blasebalgs in Verbindung mit dem richtigen Anschlag der Tasten führt zu herausragenden Ergebnissen, die das eigene Spiel verändern und die Musikalität befreien. Die CNIMA-Schüler haben zahlreiche Erfolge erzielt, darunter die Rekordzahl von 126 Preisen bei internationalen Wettbewerben.
