World Diatonic Accordion Championships, St Kanzian – Austriaby Rob Howard |
 The 6th International Competition for Diatonic Accordion (the World Diatonic Accordion Championships), takes place in St Kanzian (near Lake Klopein), from May 21st to 24th. This competition is organised by the Austrian Accordion and Harmonica (HVÖ) association and will be held at Kongresszentrum K3, Klopeiner Straße 5, A-9122 St. Kanzian am Klopeiner See. The competition includes sections for juniors and senior players of the diatonic and styrian accordion, and folk music groups featuring diatonic instruments. In the evenings there will be dancing to the music of accordionist Freddy Janner (Friday), and Hansi Stermetz & his Ensemble (Saturday).
