The 2013 All-Ireland Fleadh Cheoil, organized by Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann (CCE), takes place at several venues in the city of Derry, Northern Ireland, from August 11th to 18th. This year’s festival will be the first to be held in the UK. The Fleadh Cheoil is a huge competitive festival of Irish music, song and dance, with approximately 10,000 competitors and performers, including sections involving large numbers of accordionists, melodeon, concertina and harmonica players, as well as many ceili bands, accordion and marching bands. There are many guest artists performing in concerts or at dances during the festival, including accordion-featured acts such as Beoga, Dervish, Neusa, Perfect Friction, Reel It In, accordionists Damien Mullane and Dermot Byrne, and the BBC award winning duo Brendan Power (harmonica) and Tim Edey (guitar/melodeon).
