The National Accordion Organisation of United Kingdom (NAO) Area Festival season 2013/2014 commences on Saturday 2nd November with the NAO Southern Area Festival held in Wimborne Dorset organised by Bob Downer – who will be presented with the NAO Associate Award 2013 by NAO Honorary Vice President Colin Whitfield. The area festivals continue on Saturday 23rd November when the North Central Festival is held in Keighley Yorkshire under the direction of NAO Executive officer Harry Hinchcliffe. These festivals are the first of the series held until early March throughout England, Scotland and Northern Ireland and are qualifying competitions for the NAO UK Championships 2014. The NAO UK Championships 2014, which in 2013 attracted over 300 entries, is to be held from 25th to 27th April 2014 at the Adelphi Hotel, Liverpool. Events include the UK National Championships, the 2014 Roland National Final, international solo categories for classical, variety and an international orchestra category.
