Unfortunately I have no information about the Orchestra whatsoever, except that this is a recording of their live performance on March 1st 1998 at "Kurhaus" Baden-Baden Weinbrennersaal.

Their program begins with the "Balkan Medley", 4 dances from Macedonia, Bosnia, Monte Negro and Serbia very nicely arranged by Adolf Gotz. Knowing the very essence of the music from that region, I can say that Adolf Gotz felt and preserved its very heart and soul in his arrangements. He used exactly the right timbre, harmonies, the supporting instruments, felt the inner dramatic development hidden in these melodies and on that basis made a very interesting arrangement, performed very inspiringly by the orchestra.

The second track is Hans Boll's "Immortal", I believe inspired by Piazzolla's style. I am a great fan of Hans Boll's composing style and I have to say I instantly liked this piece as well, for its melodic beauty dramatically and rhythmically developed into a nice, inspiring musical story.

The third track is Piazzolla's "Adios Nonino", a logical continuation of the second track. I don't come across many recordings of Piazzolla's music played by an accordion orchestra that often, but it sounds Great and gains a new more "grandiozo" dimension.

Two Gershwin's pieces are selected for this recording. The orchestra played them with a lot of spirit and with great "phrasing" - they let the music breath very successfully.

The last piece, containing well known themes, sounds very impressive, dramatic and full of dynamic contrasts and spirit.

This recording overall is very entertaining, enjoyable and professional. I look forward to their next CD!
