Vladimir Zubitsky Accordion Vol.2
Vladimir Zubitsky
Vladimir Zubitsky
15th October 1999
V. Zubitsky: "Sonata No2"; "Bulgarian notebook"; "Carpathian suite"
D. Scarlatti: "Two Sonates"
L. van Beethoven: "12 variations"
P. Tchaikovsky: Finale from violin concerto

Performances of Vladimir Zubitsky are well known in the world of classical accordion. He is equally famous as a composer and his compositions are often included in schools, concerts and competition repertoires of accordionists around the world.

For this recording he has chosen a very interesting program consisting of both his own compositions and classics arranged for the accordion by Vladimir himself.

Vladimir's own pieces are "Slavic threeology": Slavic Sonata, Bulgarian Notebook and Carpathian Suite - all inspired by colorful Slavic melodies and rhythms. Vladimir applies some sound effects in these pieces which are, for the first time, used on the accordion and invented by Vladimir.

The other section of classical pieces include the famous Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto in D Major (finale) arranged very successfully and performed breathlessly. Not often do you hear Beethoven being performed on the accordion but 12 variations are performed with profound and deep understanding for Beethoven's style.

Great recording!
