Duo 2000 was launched in 1995, when accordion virtuoso Sergio Zampolli and harpist Amarillie Ackermann joined forces to create duet items for this unique ensemble combination. Their challenge was partly compounded by the fact that Sergio's instrument is no ordinary accordion - but a 'symphonic' accordion driven by electronic modules producing a sound like a full symphony orchestra. Their repertoire now includes works by Bach, Tchaikovsky, Khatchaturian, Albeniz, etc, and on the lighter side pieces by popular composers as Burt Bacharach and Robert Maxwell.

This is a truly inspirational CD especially if you like to hear MIDI Accordion and its variety of sounds. The combination of MIDI accordion and harp is very interesting and makes a very nice, mellow blend.

This CD contains classical pieces arranged for this unique duet. The overall sound is very pleasing, creating a very relaxing atmosphere and definitely is music to "calm the beast". The accordion part is played very skilfully, and it is obvious that the artist has a great knowledge of MIDI. I also loved the harp solos!

A CD of good taste music!
