One more of Michael's CDs, this time a variety of the French and Spanish music, all composed by Michael. Personally, I like very much Michael's composing style as well as performing style. He is a talented composer with a fully developed and recognizable style. His pieces are technically demanding and at the same time represent a sort of "new look" on traditional French music which is very refreshing. His music is also tremendously intimate, sensitive, and has that refined touch to it - qualities which I believe, are the most appealing to the listener. Technically, Michael plays with that crisp, clear leggiero which gives an impression of lightness and ease. Musically, he creates that special atmosphere, at times very melancholic, even romantic, at times vibrant, always using the tonal capabilities of the accordion to its full extent, creating an emotional, touching performance. Also, the quality of the recording is superb! An entertainer of real class! |
