Karls Jonatansson is a well known Icelandic accordionist, entertainer,teacher and performer. He established first formal accordion club in Reykjavik (The Accordion Lovers Club of Raykjavik), the first accordion club ub Akureyri (the Accordion Lovers Club in Akureyri ) and finally the Association of the Icelandic Accordion Lovers. Karl also has his own Big Band which he conducts and makes arrangements for. After I received Karl's CD for reviewing and having heard it once, I caught my self playing it on and on in my leisure time. I believe this is partly because this CD offers absolutely great variety of styles from traditional French music and tangos to accordion with big band, which are definitely my favourite tracks! Karl's accordion in combination with the big band sounds so sophisticated, full, vibrant! Karl performs with a lot of class and that is another reason why I love this recording. Great recording! |
