Nina Slyusar's and Lena Zybo's partnership began during their studies in Vitebsk, Belarus, 1983 to 87. They both graduated from the Music Conservatory in Minsk (under Professor N. Severukov) and post graduate at Russian Academy of Music in Moscow (under Professor V. Semionov). They are three times "Laureates" of international competition; 1991 and 1996 in Klingenthal and 1994 in Castelfidardo. The list of the countries they have toured includes Poland, Germany, Finland, USA and Russia.

It was real pleasure listening to this duet. I have to admit, their choice of repertoire and performing manner are appealing to me personally, probably because I also was musically brought up on the basis of the Russian accordion tradition.

Their repertoire would be one of the best examples of the standard concert repertoire from Russian artists. It includes wide variety of styles and perhaps that is why it is so appealing to the audiences all over the world.

Their performance is highly skilled technically as well as artistically, and certainly is of the highest standard. They have a deep understanding for different styles and performing demands for each of them, and that is why at times their performance is deep and contentious (Bach), at times is light, airy, mellow and enthusiastic (Mendelson, Rakhmaninov, Dowell), rich and vibrating (Piazzolla) and at all times is very convincing.

Great duet!
