John MacDonald was born in Scotland. He started his career playing the drums, piano and piano accordion, which later proved to be his favourite instrument and by the age of fifteen his musical talents were being recognised with many TV appearances. He later moved to New Zealand before settling in Australia, where he is now one of Australia's best known entertainers. John has performed in many countries and worked extensively on Cruise Ships around the South Pacific and Far East.

This CD is one of twenty-seven recordings that John has released worldwide.

John's speciality is Scottish music. I have heard John playing live, and I can say that going to his concert is real event, visual as well as musical. He wears traditional Scottish clothing, changing clothes during the course of the concert to suit the particular style he performs. This appearance, both musical and visual is very entertaining, fun and interesting.

Musically, John is a very precise musician, in terms of rhythm and touch. His rhythm and touch are crystal clear. At times he plays technically demanding pieces with great ease and at the same time makes his accordion sound very pleasant for the listener. A great buy for lovers of Scottish music!
