Robert Davine is currently the Professor of Accordion & Theory for the Lamont School of Music at the University of Denver. As a very active promoter of the accordion he performed solo with many Symphony Orchestras in the U.S. Currently he is researching a book on the accordion & its literature. Robert Davine's choice for this CD were original compositions for the accordion by modern composers. He presented him self as an accordionist who has a lot of knowledge and experience in performing and understanding contemporary music for the accordion. There is a very interesting mix of accordion and strings, and accordion, cello and piano. I especially liked the accordion and cello mix - a great blend! I also have to remark on the performance of John Gart's "Vivo". Such a virtuous and fiery performance! This CD is an excellent buy for the lovers of modern contemporary accordion music. |
