Petrus B. Spaghetti Sauce

This CD represents the second recording effort by the group "Bebo Sapràvie" defined - on its website - like: "The Original Ethno-Balkan-Klezmer-Jazz-Tango Acrobatic Trio"!

This is a rather special and "unusual" atypical format - a trio of accordion, clarinet and percussion - and especially for the proposed program.

In fact it is difficult to place the CD in any specific genre of music: world music, street music, or "circus", ethnic music (particularly the Balkans), klezmer, dance, improvisation ... The trio gives us a little of 'all this and more yet! The whole is then topped by a dose of irony and humor; ingredients that characterize virtually all of the songs, often with quotes and "caricatures" more or less obvious.

The arrangements are very well designed and functional for the project, as well as the interpretation, both individual (in themselves) and collective (such as teamwork), more participatory, engaging and whimsical, often with a jazz style approach.

The CD also contains a "pearl" of the repertoire which is purely accordion only (the only piece not composed by the same trio): "Caravan Negra" composed by the great Gorni Kramer, is here interpreted in a truly original - with an ethnic connotation - and enhanced by "exotic "improvisations.

Personally, I particularly appreciated the track No 13 ("El mondo nuovo"), which effectively summarizes all the program as interesting and sometimes "experimental" the following named: "Yoshi" and the jazzy track No. 7 ("Bad Ferengji")

Finally in conclusion, this is a fun CD, with songs that are often evocative, whimsical fantasy with taste and proposal of a multi-ethnic "global music" program, and a mirror of the present times.
