Hammondeon", a symbiosis between a Hammond organ (Stefan Patry) and accordion (Renè Sopa), instruments giving importance to each other finding the right playground on the rhythmic basis of the drums of Francois Morin and Jaco Largent on the percussions, which, never redundant or invading, support the harmonic melodies of the two leaders with an enviable insistance no matter which road is taken … funk, jazz or caribbean sound.

Sopa and Patry, with their dense and soft melodic sound, establish a climate - "the Indien summer", - truly enjoyable and their big plus is especially their way of exhibiting themselves with a jazzy eloquence, with a pronounced dexerity, a wealth of timbres and dynamics - used in a pleasant way. Without forgetting the introductory "Raymonde 007" (true compendium of the Hammondeon world), the energetic "Agathe the funk", the homage to Piazzolla by Sopa or "Solitude" and "Julie", taking a look at the proposed repetoire, it is easy to be understand the quartet’s the wide range of power. Beside "It Aint Necessarily So" of Gershwin and "Killer Joe" of Golson we have "Toulouse" of Chevalier and to "the Etè Indien" of Cutugno, presenting more the jazzy and deep side of North American origin placed side by side to the introspective and melodic Franco-European matrix. An extremely beautiful disc without contraindications, with a tiny bit of positive nostalgic flavour and a perfect interplay between the musicians…. Entirely pleasureable listening.
