| Video: Martynas Levickis (Litauen) spielt die Französische Suite Nr. 5, BWV 816: Loure aus dem Album "Autograph". Martynas Levickis (Litauen) wurde diese Woche in Deutschland mit dem Opus-Klassik-Instrumentalisten des Jahres 2023 für sein neues Album "Autograph" ausgezeichnet. Der Opus Klassik ist der Preis für klassische Musik in Deutschland. Die Preisverleihung findet am 7. Oktober 2023 in der Elisabethkirche und am 8. Oktober 2023 im Konzerthaus Berlin statt. Martynas' nächster Konzertauftritt findet am 7. Juli 2023 um 19 Uhr im Schloss Hohen Luckow in Mecklenburg im Rahmen der Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern statt. Martynas wird in einem Akkordeon-Sextett mit Siniša Ljubojevic, Wieslaw Ochwat, Kamila Olas, Maris Rozenfelds und Ðorde Vasiljevic auftreten. Auf dem Programm stehen verschiedene Werke von Tschaikowsky für Akkordeon-Sextett. |

 Video: Somewhere Over the Rainbow - Grayson Masefield. Ein wunderschönes Free-Bass-Akkordeon-Jazz-Arrangement von Joseph Natoli, aufgenommen im Okt. 2018 an der Bartell Music Academy in Spokane, USA.Das Accordionists & Teachers Guild, International (ATG) 2023 Festival wird vom 19. bis 23. Juli 2023 in Lisle, Chicago, USA stattfinden, Die Künstler kommen aus der ganzen Welt, wie Grayson Masefield aus Neuseeland, der die neueste Komposition von Gorka Hermosa (Bild links) mit dem Titel "Meditatio" uraufführen wird. Weitere Interpreten sind das Duo Kollektiv (Österreich), das Polyphonia Orchestra (Insel La Réunion), Nikolay Bine (Kanada), Stas Venglevski (USA) und das (UMKC) Community Accordion Chamber Ensemble unter der Leitung von Joan Sommers (USA). Ein besonderer Leckerbissen in diesem Jahr ist die Aufführung des Werks "Dargaville Impressions" des bekannten englischen Akkordeonisten und Komponisten Ian Watson durch Kevin Friedrich zusammen mit dem Organisten Tony Payne (Associate Professor of Music, Director of Special Programs and Artist Series am Wheaton College), Ron Dake (Bassakkordeon) und Nathaniel Holman (Schlagzeug). Das zweisätzige Werk wurde von Kevin Friedrich zu Ehren der Renovierung der historischen Orgel in der Holy Trinity Anglican Church in seiner Heimatstadt Dargaville, Neuseeland, in Auftrag gegeben.  Das Agora Akkordeonfestival wird vom 16. bis 22. Juli 2023 in Adelboden, Schweiz, stattfinden. Die Veranstaltung umfasst folgende Konzerte in der Reformierten Kirche in Adelboden:- Am 16. Juli um 17 Uhr: Straßburger Musikanten in der Tänze durch die Zeiten - 19. Juli um 20 Uhr: Solokonzerte von Klaudiusz Baran (Polen) und Philippe Thuriot (Belgien) - 21. | Das Cotati Accordion Festival 2023 findet am 19. und 20. August 2023 im La Plaza Park, La Plaza, Cotati, Kalifornien, USA statt. Am Samstag, den 19. August, beginnt um 12 Uhr die Zydeco-Tanzparty im Spanky's, das an den Park angrenzt. Es wird nicht nur im Club getanzt, sondern es gibt auch viel Platz zum Tanzen auf dem breiten Bürgersteig, der an den Club angrenzt und der im letzten Jahr voll mit Tänzern war. Mark St. Mary, der von der Bay Area Blues Society als "Best Zydeco Band" ausgezeichnet wurde, wird das Festival eröffnen, und der "Delta King" bringt immer das Beste der traditionellen Louisiana-Zydeco-Musik.   Accordionists entertained at the Glastonbury Festival which was held at Worthy Farm in Glastonbury, Somerset, England, UK from June 21st to 25th, 2023.London-based Russian accordionist Igor Outkine (picture above left) performed as well as the Good Habits duo, which features accordionist Pete Shaw and singer-cellist Bonnie Schwarz (picture above right). This year’s festival had over 210,000 attendees plus included over 40 hours of television coverage which aired on several BBC channels and over 85 hours of live radio coverage. |

| Parno Drom will perform at the Seattle Polish Festival, held at the Seattle Centre Armory & Mural Amphitheatre in Seattle, Washington, USA on July 8th, 2023 from midday. The group, which features Bob Kozak (accordion & vocals), Katya Kiselyova (guitar & vocals), Lubov Plett (violin) and Elizabeth Lesztak (dancer), perform Eastern European Romani (Gypsy) style music from Russia, Poland, Hungary and beyond. They sing in the original language of each song including the Romany language of the Gypsies. The Polish Festival Seattle is a family-oriented event for the Greater Seattle multicultural community.  The St Audries Bay Accordion Week will be held in St Audries Bay, West Quantoxhead, Nr Minehead, Somerset, England from July 14th to 21st, 2023.The event features a week of professional orchestra workshops, master classes, private lessons, concerts, ceilidh and general bellows related fun. Workshops include: • Musical Improv and Playing by Ear by Andrew Purkiss, which will focus on listening skills, improvisation and playing by ear. This will include playing without music using a simple tune to create and arrange together. • Technique and Bellows Work by Sammie Peckover-Mitchell, which will incorporate some simple exercises with bellows work to brush up your technique. • Ways to Approach Performance Anxiety by Caroline Hussey. If you’re an anxious player please come along and talk about what happens when we’re feeling anxious, and ways we can prepare for and cope with nerves when performing. • Introduction to the B-System Accordion by Lisa-Lee Leslie who will be offering the opportunity to come and learn all about the B-system accordion.   Amélie Dénarié (picture above left) & François Heim (picture above right) will run a Diatonic Accordion Workshop in Hamlet of Chalap, Senechas, France from July 16th to 22nd, 2023, organised by the Balagan Company.The workshop is for all levels except beginners and will cover right hand chords on different rhythms, how to diversify the left hand, independence of the hands, the use of the air valve, the effects of bellows and the different touches to learn how to evolve a melody according to your level and help you find your interpretation.   "Meet the Musician Behind the Sound" ist eine neue Serie von Interviews mit jungen und aufstrebenden Akkordeonisten, damit Sie sie besser kennen lernen können. Die Mitarbeiter, die die Interviews führen, sind Adele Pirozzolo und Andrea Di Giacomo.Das Interview mit Romuald Lefebvre wird jetzt veröffentlicht, herausgegeben von Andrea Di Giacomo. Romuald Lefebvre trat 2017 mit dem Philharmonischen Orchester von Radio France auf. Er unterrichtet auch am Conservatoire de Calais und in Boulogne-Sur-Mer. Da er sich für die Entwicklung des Akkordeons einsetzt, war er einer der Gründer der Association des Professeurs de Haut de France. Er hat 2 Soloalben aufgenommen, "Eclectique" im Jahr 2013 und "Toccata" im Jahr 2014.
