  Plans are well underway for the 2023 76th Coupe Mondiale being held from 5-9 September 2023 in Bijeljina, Bosnia & Herzogovina. The event will be hosted by the CIA member, Association of Artists (Bijeljina), Organiser 2023 CIA Honorary Vice President: Slaviša Peric.CIA Secretary General Kimmo Mattila announces that the closing date for the 2023 Coupe Mondiale entries is July 31, 2023. All entry and travel/hotel information is online at: Coupe Mondiale Online entries at: 2023CM-Rules Download poster: 2023CM-poster.jpg Also closing July 31, 2023 is the registrations of CIA delegates and jury members. After that date the CIA Music Committee will compile the jury panels for the Coupe Mondiale categories. The exact schedule for each category is prepared, depending upon the entries. The easy travel to B&H, the excellent priced accommodation and good competition venues are expected to attract a large number of supporters and Coupe Mondiale candidates to Bijeljina for what will be a very exciting 2023 76th Coupe Mondiale. |

Sylvia Pagni and Vince Tempera Combine Talents to Create "Le Ragioni Dell'Acqua" (The Meanings of Water) - Italyby Holda Paoletti-Kampl |
 Vince Tempera (born 18 September 1946) is a well known Italian musician, composer, arranger, record producer and conductor, most famous for composing film soundtracks. Vince Tempera, is also a great admirer of very popular Italian accordionist Sylvia Pagni, and together they have been working on a musical work with the very topical and philosophical title "Le Ragioni Dell'Acqua". English: "The Meanings of Water". According to Pagni and Tempera, these compositions have the function of raising awareness to the sound of notes, about our most important resource, WATER, a public resource as well as an indispensable source of life, to be protected and preserved. The music they have created, is a soundtrack that invites listening with your eyes closed, giving listeners the feeling of taking flight with the mind around our great, wonderful and fragile planet "Earth", with colors enclosed in the 5 continents. The 12 tracks have been acquired by R.T.I. Mediaset, music section and, are being mastered at the studios of the Academy of Entertainment S.L.M. Sound Light Music S.r.l in Pineto (TE). The music will be released in digital and CD-audio, scheduled release in the first half of 2024. |

| An important announcement for the accordion has been made: Physa Editions was founded and managed by Francesco Visentin, accordionist and teacher. Scores, books, disks, a very large catalog with intense activity, which then very sadly stopped when Francesco suddenly passed away in 2016. Memorial information: Francesco Visentin Edizioni Musicali e Discografiche Ars Spoletium directed by Mirco Patarini and Gianluca Bibiani, has acquired the rights under an agreement signed with the heirs of the late Francesco Visentin to publish the Physa Editions catalog. Many composers are involved and there are many titles in the catalog that make up a varied repertoire, divided between classical, contemporary to folk genres. There are also numerous teaching methods and book publications, including those by Salvatore di Gesualdo and Aleksi Jercog. Soon it will be possible to purchase scores, in the paper version still in stock, directly through the e-commerce site arspoletium.com (under renovation). | Entries are invited for the XVI International Composition Competition Francisco Escudero, held in Basque Country, Spain this year. The objective of the contest is to promote the creation of pieces for solo accordion and for accordion in chamber music. The competition is open to composers of any age and nationality. Only pieces written after January 2019 will be admitted and must never have been previously performed either in public or through any digital or mechanical means. This year there will be a new category which features the composition of solo works with pedagogical objectives, for students between 6 and 18 years old. A prizegiving ceremony will be held at the Modela Theatre in Zarautz, Basque Country in October. Entry closing date is: 26th September 2023. | The CNIMA directed by Nathalie Boucheix will hold August accordion workshops with tutors Jacques Mornet and Nathalie Boucheix as follows: • August 7th to 12th, 2023 • August 14th to 19th, 2023 The workshops will cover instrumental work based on the Jacques Mornet method, approach of the accordion as a wind instrument, management of the air column and the bellows, and finding a balance between body and instrument. | The Accordion Summer School 2023 will be held at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow, Scotland, UK from July 31st to August 4th, 2023. The event course leader is Djordje Gajic, who has an international career as a soloist, chamber musician and teacher. The five-day course has been designed for young accordionists aged from 12 to 17 years, who want to develop their practice, knowledge and performance skills and will help strengthen technical and musical skills, through knowledge of repertoire and healthy practice habits. Students will also learn about accordion manufacturers, great accordionists and what life is like as a full-time music student at a Conservatoire.  Martina Jembrišak (Croatia) will perform at the Knights' Hall, Križanke in Ljubljana, Slovenia on August 1st and 2nd, 2023, as part of the 71st Festival Ljubljana.This international summer festival features concerts, masterclasses, ballet, opera and theatre performances, musicals, children's and youth workshops and much more. Over 4,000 artists from 40 countries take part in the event which attracts over 60,000 visitors each year. | Three Accordion Orchestras will perform at the 20th Cologne Music Festival (20. Kölner Musikfest) held at the Tanzbrunnen in Cologne, Germany on August 6th, 2023 from 11am to 6pm. The open-air event (previously known as the International Folklore Festival) is a series of events in which choirs, orchestras and dance groups present a musical journey through international music in a multicultural togetherness on the Tanzbrunnen open-air stage.
