 Tägliche Berichte über "FACES and Facts" sowie die Ergebnisse sind unter 2009 Concorso online verfügbar. Die Top-Kategorien des Wettbewerbs des 34. Internazionalen Akkordeon Festivals Castelfidardo wurden von Iosif Purits (Russland)in der Premio Kategorie und Petar Maric (Serbien), in den Kategorie D (klassisch) und Kategorie H (Unterhaltung) gewonnen. Cagnoni Stimmplatten vergaben ihre jährliche Auszeichnung „Goldene Stimmzunge“ - "Voce d'Oro" an Renzo Ruggieri. Eine Auszeichnung für besondere Hervorhebung des Akkordeons in der Welt der modernen Musik durch Auftritte, Komposition, Organisation von Veranstaltungen, Werbung in TV oder Zeitungen. Der "Ballone Burini Preis für Schulen / Lehrer mit den meisten Teilnehmern auf den ersten drei Plätzen der Kategorien ABCD und Premio, wurde an Cao Xiao-Qing (China) vergeben. Jury-Präsident war Alessandro Sbordoni – weitere Mitglieder waren: Vincenzo Abbracciante, Franck Angelis, Klaudiusz Baran, Dragan Djokic, Jean-Marc Fabiano, Juri Iwanowitsch Febenchuk, Jean-Marie Geiser, Ladislav Horak, Claudio Jacomucci, Francesco Palazzo, Chen Jun , Sergio Petronio, uns Zoia Petrowna, Paolo Picchio, Wang Yu Ping, Germano Scurti, Alexander Selivanov, Romano Viazzani, Borut Zagoranski, Tägliche Berichte über "FACES and Facts" sowie die Ergebnisse sind unter 2009 Concorso online verfügbar. |

Efrem Podgaits '60. Geburtstag, Moskau - Russlandby Dr Herbert Scheibenreif Manager of Friedrich Lips Productions |
 Zum 60. Geburtstages von Efrem Podgaits spielte Friedrich Lips am 16. Oktober in Moskau die Komposition des Künstlers "Ex Animo" für Bajan und Streichquartett (gewidmet an Friedrich Lips das Fine Arts-Quartett), dessen erste Aufführung in Milwaukee , USA, im Jahr 2003 stattfand. Efrem Podgaits ist ein hervorragender russischer Komponist, der zahlreiche Werke für Bajan wie "Fantasie in Memorium an Alfred Schnittke Sonata“, „Bajan solo“, „Lips Concert“ sowie zwei weitere Konzerte für Bajan und Symphonieorchester, veröffentlicht hat. Podgaits "jüngstes Konzertwerk "Viva Voce" wurde für die 3. Runde des Bayan Akkordeon-Wettbewerbes im nächsten Jahr in Moskau ausgewählt.  Zum 60. Jubiläum des Tiananmen-Platz der Gründung Chinas gab es ein großes Fest mit Feuerwerk, Gesang der jungen Künstlerin Zuhai zusammen mit Hunderten von jungen Talenten, sowie Musik des bekannte Akkordeonisten Yang Yi Bai. Dieses wichtige Ereignis wurde vom China Central TV Kanal (CCTV) übertragen und als Höhepunkt Yang mit seiner leidenschaftliche Performance von ‘Let's Dangqi sculls’ begleitet von fröhlichem Gesang und Tanz besonders hervorgehoben. Ein spannender Moment für alle Akkordeonisten und ein wichtiges Signal für die gesamte Popularität des Akkordeons in der Bevölkerung und in der Mainstream-Musikindustrie. |

 Die 10-Jahresfeier der Las Vegas Internationalen Akkordeon Convention (Las Vegas International Accordion Convention) wurde in diesem Jahr vom 19 bis 23 Oktober im Gold Coast Hotel veranstaltet. Paul Pasquali hat ein Staraufgebot zusammengestellt: Dick Contino, Art Van Damme, Peter & Mady Soave, Stas Venglevski, Mary Tokarski, Mario Tacca, Mary Mancini, Gina Brannelli und viele andere wunderbare Künstler. ‘Double Jeu’ Duo, Reims – Frankreichby Harley Jones |
 Das Duo "Double Jeu" ( "Double Jeopardy") wurde nach einem Zusammentreffen der Akkordeonisten Pierre Laval (20 Jahre) aus Betheny in der Nähe von Reims und Felician Brut (22) aus Saint Sauves Auvergne in the Puy de Dome, gegründet. Pierre erreicht den dritten Platz sowohl im CMA Tropheé Mondiale und der Junior Virtuoso Entertainment Kategorie des CIA Coupe Mondiale ’s in 2007. Im selben Jahr gewann Felician Brut in Folge die internationalen Wettbewerbe in Kilngenthal (Deutschland), Castelfidardo (Italien) und den CMA Tropheé Mondiale. Danach haben beide beschlossen, gemeinsam als Duo aufzutreten. Pierre unterrichtet derzeit Akkordeon in der Region von Reims und Felician spielt auch noch in einem Trio.  The international accordion ensemble Accordion Tribe will make another tour of Europe early in 2010, and their first two dates have been confirmed, with many more to be announced. The line up is likely to be Guy Klucevsek (picture right - USA), Maria Kalaniemi (Finland), Bratko Bibic (Slovenia), and Otto Lechner (Austria). They will be without Lars Hollmer (Sweden), who died earlier this year.February 19th - Kampnagel , Hamburg, Germany 20th - Trafo Saal, Baden, Switzerland Formed in 1996, Accordion Tribe is an ensemble that seeks to explore the use of the accordion in different cultures and musical contexts. In addition to concert tours and recordings, the ensemble released ‘Accordion Tribe - Music Travels’, a German-language documentary film about the band. It premiered in January 2004, and in 2005 won the Swiss Film Prize for the Best Documentary, as well as the documentary film prize at the Würzburg International Filmweekend. He played an antique "Osmanski" accordion pictured. He went into the second round of the TV show, which is seen in many countries that were part of the USSR. |

 From November 14th to 22nd Stas Venglevski and John Simkus will be touring Austria for the third time. Concerts will take place in 5 different regions including cities such as Vienna, Neunkirchen, St. Stefan, Lienz, Rottenmann, Graz and Perg. Their programme will include not only works by J.S.Bach, I.Albeniz, E.Derbenko, V.Gridin and S.Venglevski himself, but also arrangements of Russian folk themes, French musette, and a medley of ‘favorite melodies’.  On Tuesday November 10th, 7.45pm, the Baillies Mills Accordion Band perform in concert at The Waterfront, 2 Lanyon Place, Belfast BT1 3WH, Northern Ireland, to celebrate their 70th anniversary. Three charities benefit from this concert: Stepping Stones, Camphill Communities Trust (NI) and Marie Curie Cancer Care. The Baillies Mills Accordion Band will be joined by an array of local talent: the Methodist College Girls Choir (twice winners of the UK`s Sainsbury Choir of the Year competition), The Friendship Band (an ensemble of some of the best local brass musicians, playing in carnival style), and Sheelagh Greer, one of Ulster`s finest mezzo sopranos. Also performing will be local flautist Jonathan Johnston, The Gillian Jones Dancers, and The Leading Ladies, who have emerged from musical theatre companies across Ireland. |

 The BBC Radio 2's Young Folk Award 2010 takes place on Friday December 4th in London. The 6 finalists include accordionist Chris Keatinge, and the band Cinnte, from Northern Ireland, featuring Ciaran Hanna - on concertina. Chris Keatinge has been playing the button accordion for 15 years now, under the tutelage of Ian Lowthian. In 2005 Chris won the Rotarty Club's ‘Young Musican of the Year’ and was a 2006 finalist in the BBC Radio Scotland’s ‘Young Traditional Musician of the Year’. Since then he has performed across Scotland with the TMSA ‘Young Trad Tour’ as part of Harris Playfair's ‘Coel Mor’ at the Aberdeen International Festival, and most recently as part of the Border Tunesmiths, a collaborative project and concert of 9 Borders musicians. Cinnte are a group of friends (and brothers) who have played Irish traditional music together for a few years at fleadhs (competitions) and festivals. They decided to form a band in 2008 to launch a local cultural festival, and since then have appeared on Irish national television and are preparing to record their first album. |

 Yuri Shishkin performs in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia on the 25th October at the hall of Concert-theatrical center "Ugra-classic". There will be a most unusual competition. Yuri Shiskin will make a concert-competition with organist Vladislav Murtazin of Kazan. They will perform works of Bach, Vivaldi, Tchaikovsky, Rimsky-Korsakov, Rodrigo, Semionov. The public will then choose who is the winner - the organist or Shishkin?On 27th October in the same hall will be a solo recital by Yuri Shishkin. The program includes: Rachmaninov, Mussorgsky, Khandochkin, Kusiakov and Semionov. |
