  Munich espera ansiosamente la Coupe Mondiale 2021 y los preparativos para esta competencia internacional de acordeón más famosa están ahora en pleno apogeo.La fecha límite de inscripción es el 25 de agosto de 2021, toda la información de inscripción y viajes / hotel está en línea en: Coupe Mondiale Inscripciones en línea en: 2021CM-Rules Descargue el póster del evento para imprimir en: 2021CM-poster.pdf La 74a Coupe Mondiale comenzará el 13 de octubre de 2021 con un concierto festivo en la 'Munich Residenz'. Los aspectos más destacados musicales de la Apertura son actuaciones con diferentes instrumentos de armónica (familia de acordeón) en diferentes formaciones, así como música de diferentes estilos y épocas. El concierto está destinado a mostrar la amplia gama de música capaz de la familia de instrumentos de armónica. Los artistas incluyen Duo Flac, Duo Andreas y Naoko Nebl y la Orquesta de Acordeón Juvenil de Baviera. El Concierto de Apertura es parte de los aspectos más destacados del 90 aniversario de la Deutscher Harmonika-Verband e.V. (DHV), con la Coupe Mondiale 2021 alojada por la DHV, el miembro alemán de la CIA y también miembro fundador de la CIA. Lugar histórico del concierto inaugural 'Residenz München Allerheiligen-Hofkirche': El rey Luis I mandó construir la 'Iglesia de la Corte de Todos los Santos' entre 1826 y 1837 a partir de diseños de su arquitecto de la corte, Leo von Klenze. En una visita a Palermo en 1823 cuando todavía era príncipe heredero, el rey quedó tan impresionado por la Capilla Palatina Normanda-Bizantina que data del siglo XII que expresó el deseo de tener una iglesia similar en la Residenz. Si bien Klenze tuvo que cumplir con los deseos de Ludwig, interpretó los modelos medievales en el espíritu del estilo neoclásico que prefería. Después de la destrucción masiva en la Segunda Guerra Mundial, no fue hasta 2003 que la iglesia fue reabierta al público. Las partes supervivientes del edificio original se restauraron y las secciones faltantes se reemplazaron cuidadosamente.   El Carrefour Mondial de L’Accordeon 2021, 32a edición, se llevará a cabo del 3 al 5 de septiembre de 2021 en Montmagny, Quebec, Canadá.Debido a las restricciones de Covid-19 que impiden muchos viajes al extranjero, el evento de 2021 contará con acordeonistas 100% canadienses que entretendrán en escenarios interiores y exteriores.   Dos estrenos compuestos por Renzo Ruggieri (imagen de arriba) para acordeón clásico y orquesta de cuerda se realizarán en la 17a edición del Festival Internacional de Acordeón de San Vicente la Costa (FISV) que se celebra en línea en San Vicente la Costa, Calabria, Italia del 5 al 7 de 2021.Ambas piezas se interpretarán el 5 de agosto. La primera composición se llama “Memento” y será interpretada por Pietro Pardino, Director Musical de la FISV. La segunda pieza se titula "Canción de despedida" (Canto D'Addio) y será interpretada por Giuseppe Scigliano. El evento también incluye una competencia de acordeón en línea con un jurado internacional que incluye a Renzo Ruggieri. |

 2021 es el 40 aniversario del Milwaukee Irish Fest, que se llevará a cabo en el Henry Maier Festival Park en Milwaukee, Wisconsin, EE. UU., Del 20 al 22 de agosto. El tema de este año es "Celebrando el espíritu de los Estados Unidos irlandeses".El evento de este año incluirá conciertos en vivo, lecciones y clases, exhibiciones sobre arte celta, historia, genealogía, idioma gaélico y más, cocina de inspiración irlandesa, un desayuno irlandés los domingos por la mañana y mucho más. El evento también contará con un programa temático irlandés en línea que incluirá actuaciones musicales y charlas culturales grabadas directamente desde Irlanda. Aquellos que trabajaron en el frente durante la pandemia de COVID-19 serán honrados en una ceremonia especial durante el Irish Fest. Recibirán entrada gratuita el 21 de agosto, de 14h a 15.30h.  Título del artículo de la revista musical The Strad: El jurado del concurso online "vio 22 segundos de mi vídeo", afirma el participante.Se está llevando a cabo un caso judicial en Munich relativo a un concurso de música en vídeo (no exclusivamente de acordeón) en el que se cobraron tarifas de entrada a los participantes (140 euros de la Cámara a 110 euros en la categoría individual) y, gracias a Google Analytics, los participantes pudieron ver la cantidad de tiempo de escucha para su entrada. Los dos videos del dúo (acordeón y violín) se abrieron solo una vez cada uno, durante 22 y 23 segundos, poco más del dos por ciento !! de la música presentada. Para los dos videos en solitario, uno tampoco se escuchó en absoluto. A continuación, el organizador anunció la lista de competidores que pasarían a la segunda ronda. He oído hablar de casos en los que algunos organizadores de competencias de video de acordeón han sido defraudados por una pequeña minoría del jurado, que ha escuchado poco tiempo o nada en absoluto, a algunos competidores. | Video: this video features Doris Day singing "Sam, The Old Accordion Man" from the movie “Love Me Or Leave Me” (1955). Accordionist is Dominic Frontier. The movie is a fictionalised account of the career of a jazz singer Ruth Etting and her tempestuous marriage to gangster Marty Snyder, who helped propel her to stardom. The original recording by Ruth Etting had a slower tempo compared with Doris Day’s snappier rendition in which she portrays Ruth Etting. I also saw Myron Floren’s YouTube recording. He played it several years later: one performance was with a soloist and the other performance was with a quartet. |

 Gulf News Waiheke Island, Auckland, New Zealand reported that moving tributes have been paid to music guardian and museum creator Lloyd Whittaker, who died last month aged 88.Lloyd and his wife Joan shared their world-class collection of working instruments with the public after establishing Whittakers Musical Museum in Oneroa, Waiheke Island, 25 years ago. Visitors to Whittakers Musical Museum could tickle the ivories of a Bechstein concert piano grand once owned by Ignacy Paderewski (the Lloyd-Weber of the 19th century) or play New Zealand’s oldest Steinway. Some of the instruments in the collection were brought to the country on sailing ships, then transported up-country on bullock carts. Others were collected from second-hand shops, antique dealers and various old sheds located around the country. Whittaker, an accordionist, also had his collection of accordions, bandoneons and concertinas on display at his Museum. Fittingly, Lloyd and Joan were both named Members of the New Zealand Order of Merit in the 2020 Queen’s Birthday Honours, cited for services to heritage preservation and music education. Lloyd “loved sharing music and giving enjoyment… It was total dedication”. Lloyd is survived by his wife, Joan, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. A celebration of Lloyd's life was held at the Whittaker's Musical Museum, Artworks Complex, Oneroa. |

| Matt Tolentino released his newest album “Accordion Band” last month, which features accordion band charts published between 1935-1960 by Vitak-Elsnic Company. The CD, which "brings this decades-old music back to life seemed tailor-made for this multi-instrumentalist and accordionist extraordinaire." The 17 songs on the release range from classical to traditional folk tunes, which are performed by Tolentino playing all 5 accordion parts using a selection of instruments from his personal collection.  Duo Aves, which includes Elena Soussi (piano) and Ambre Vuillermoz (accordion) have an “endless concert weekend” with 4 concerts from July 23rd to 26th, 2021.Firstly the duo will perform at the Banon High Church in Banon on July 23rd at 8pm, organised by Banon Culture. On July 24th, they will perform in Manosque at 4pm, followed by Ville de Manosque, Saint Lazare on the 25th at 4pm. Finally on July 26th the duo will give a teaching concert around the imaginary in music, in partnership with La Capsule-MJC Manosque and the Association Jeux d'Anches. This event is free for children. The duo explores the existing repertoire for piano and accordion, including tango and contemporary music as well as performing new pieces from young contemporary composers.  The Folk Trio will perform a concert in the Courtyard of the Lithuanian Small History Museum in Klaipeda on July 30th, 2021 at 8pm. This concert, entitled “Legends about Us”, is part of the Etno folk music event held from 26th to 30th July in Klaipeda, Lithuania, organised by the Klaipeda Ethnocultural Center. The trio includes Nerijus Bakula, an accordionist who has a strong and deep feeling of Lithuanian folk.  We regret to advise that this event has been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.The 2021 Bretelles Festival will be held at the Château de Bertholène in Bertholène, France from August 3rd to 8th. The event will include 20 artists, 5 stages, evening concerts, masterclasses and interviews. Artistic Director, Lionel Suarez will run a masterclass from August 3rd to 6th, which is aimed at accordionists who already have an artistic practice and who wish to deepen their knowledge. “It is based on a specific improvement method: several modules offer practical tools; the art of accompaniment, the science of rhythm, orchestral thinking, improvisation, sound, phrasing, this appointment will leave nothing to chance as long as the groove is there!” Children will also be given the opportunity to attend rehearsals, meet the artists, play solo, in duo and in a jam session, as well as taking part in a repair and tuning workshop by Philippe Tchumak (inventor of the Melowtone) who will also give a course in organology.
