| Video: 2021 Astor Piazzolla gewidmeten Festival „Berlin feiert Piazzolla“. Der Verein Pantonale e.V. www.pantonale.com sich durch seine jährlich organisierten Festivals, die auch international viel Beachtung finden, nicht nur in Akkordeonkreisen einen Namen gemacht. Nach dem Astor Piazzolla gewidmeten Festival „Berlin feiert Piazzolla“ im letzten Jahr hat sich Pantonale aufgrund der aktuellen geopolitischen Lage heuer dafür entschieden, ein Friedensfestival in der Berliner Philharmonie und am Brandenburger Tor zu organisieren. Zu diesem Festival kommen nicht nur Künstler aus der Ukraine und Russland, sondern es werden auch Musiker aus Italien, Kolumbien, Österreich und Deutschland erwartet. Die preisgekrönten Akkordeonisten Yuri Shishkin, Eduard Akhanov, Volodymyr Kashuta und der Gitarrist Vitaliy Shal werden das Eröffnungskonzert in der Trinitatis Church Berlin Charlottenburg. Das „Kollektiv Duo" Raphael Brunner, Akkordeon und Juan Carlos Diaz, Flöte aus Österreich und Kolumbien begeistert im Moment die Weltmusikszene und wird eigene Kompositionen zum Besten geben. Das „Quinteto Respiro“ aus Frankreich, Gewinner des Piazzolla Musik Wettbewerbs 2021, wird sein neues Programm „Bilder einer Ausstellung“ von Modest Mussorgski, arr. Gustavo Beytelmann vorstellen. Die ganze Woche werden Konzerte des Friedensfestivals im Steglitz -Park, in Kirchen und Schulen zu hören sein. Die Konzertprogramme werden auch Werke des ukrainischen Komponisten Viktor Vlasov sowie von Georg Gershwin und Alexander Tsfasman enthalten, ein Streichquintett der Berliner Symphoniker sowie ein Jazz-Trio werden die Konzerte musikalisch umrahmen. | Das Londoner Akkordeon-Orchester und das Deutsche Akkordeon-Orchester (beide unter der Leitung von Ian Watson) werden am 1. Oktober 2022 von 17.00 bis 19.00 Uhr ein Konzert mit dem Titel "Film and Fantasy" geben. Das Konzert findet in der Jerwood Hall, LSO St Luke's in London, England, statt (Bild unten). | Das 27. Internationale Akkordeonfestival Hoogezand-Sappemeer findet am 9. Oktober 2022 um 13 Uhr im Kielzog Theater in Hoogezand, Niederlande, statt und wird von Adri Kruijer präsentiert. Die Veranstaltung ist der Amsterdamer Musik aus einer vergangenen Ära gewidmet, mit Hits von Tante Leen, Johnny Jordaan, Willy Alberti, Johnny Meijer und vielen anderen. Zu den Interpreten gehören das Rembrandt Duo mit Eddy Hoorenman und Huub Eikenboom, Piet Schmidt und Gert Wantenaar, die von Klaas Kreuijer (Schlagzeug) und Joris Bijleveld (Kontrabass) begleitet werden.  Neil Thornock aus Provo, Utah, (Bild rechts) gewann dieses Jahr den Elsie-Bennett-Kompositionswettbewerb der American Accordionists' Association (AAA) mit seinem wunderschönen, eindringlichen Akkordeonsolo Moon-k'ssed Conifers.Neil Thornock hat für eine Vielzahl von Besetzungen komponiert, darunter Orchester-, Elektronik-, Kammermusik- und Solowerke. Ein Großteil seiner Musik ist für seine eigene idiosynkratische Tastentechnik auf Orgel, Klavier, Glockenspiel, Akkordeon und anderen Instrumenten geschrieben. 2019 hat er sein dreistündiges Werk Planetarium für Orgel und Elektronik uraufgeführt. Derzeit ist Thornock Professor für Komposition und Theorie an der Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. Er und seine Frau Tammy sind Eltern von sieben Kindern. Neil Thornock schreibt: "Ich habe Moon-kiss'd Conifers komponiert, um die atemberaubende und sehr hallige Akustik des zentralen Atriums im Harris Fine Arts Center der Brigham Young University zu präsentieren, einem Gebäude, das Anfang 2023 abgerissen wird. Die sich langsam verschiebenden Harmonien und geschmeidigen Melodien geben der Resonanz Raum, um durchzuscheinen. Das Ergebnis ist nächtlich und vielleicht ein bisschen liturgisch." | Das Festival Avsenik 2022 wird vom 26. bis 28. August 2022 in Begunje, Slowenien, stattfinden, nachdem die Veranstaltung 2021 wegen des Covid-19 abgesagt wurde. Das Festival ist eine der größten Veranstaltungen des Jahres in Begunje na Gorenjskem, Slowenien, und bietet drei musikalische Abende und mehr als 20 einheimische und ausländische Unterhaltungsbands. | The XXIV Kokkola Winter Accordion Festival was held in Kokkola and Pietarsaari, Finland from May 17th to 28th, 2022. The events included a variety of music concerts for all ages from children through to seniors. Guardia Nueva conducted by Raimo Vertainen gave a jubilee concert entitled “Multifaceted Diamond – Guardia Nueva 20 years” which featured soloists Jarkko Ahola, Arja Koriseva, Teemu Roivainen and Jepa Lambert performing pieces specially arranged for the orchestra but in its classic style.   The Whitby Folk Week Festival will be held in Whitby, Scarborough, North Yorkshire, England from August 20th to 26th August 2022.The event will include a variety of concerts, workshops, ceilidhs, dances, sessions, talks, presentations, interviews and a children’s festival.  The 31st Annual Cotati Accordion Festival gets underway this weekend, August 20th and 21st, 2022 in La Plaza Park, Downtown Cotati, California, USA.Music at the festival will range from Conjunto, folk, jazz, Irish, Venezuelan, rock, classical, zydeco, western & more. The event will include a Jam Tent, a Zydeco Dance Party, a Student Stage, the Ray's Deli Stage, and two main stages, along with over 60 vendors including crafts, accordions, food, wine and beer. | Video: Information on the 37th Froger-Ferron Prize Festival. The 37th Froger-Ferron Prize Festival will be held in Parcé, Fougères, Brittany, France on September 10th and 11th, 2022, organised by the AFAP (Association de Formation et d'Animation Populaire). The aim of the event is to promote and bring to life the music, tales, songs and traditional dances of Brittany and will feature a variety of traditional music, competitions, meetings, dancing, and an accordion exhibition. Every year several hundred diatonic accordionists come together to compete in a solo or duo competition or simply take part in this great gathering of traditional music and dance.  Das Christchurch Symphony Orchestra (CSO) lud Grayson Masefield Anfang des Jahres zu einem interessanten Projekt ein, das am Samstag, den 30. Juli, aufgeführt wurde. Azul von Golijov wurde ursprünglich für Yo-Yo Ma und das "Hyper-Akkordeon" in Auftrag gegeben und sollte vom Christchurch Symphony Orchestra in einer der 10 akustisch am besten gestalteten Stadthallen der Welt - der neuen Christchurch Town Hall - aufgeführt werden, Neuseeland.Der Cellist Matthew Barley aus London und der Akkordeonist Grayson Masefield aus Auckland wurden von zwei einheimischen Schlagzeugern zu einer obligaten Gruppe ergänzt. Die Partitur verlangte auch eine unkonventionelle Sitzordnung des Christchurch Symphony Orchestra, um sie zu umgeben. Chefdirigent Benjamin Northey zeigte sich erfreut über den Erfolg des Werkes. Das Publikum schätzte das zeitgenössische Stück sehr und spendete dem 30-minütigen Werk den längsten und lautesten Applaus des Abends. Radio New Zealand hat die Aufführung aufgezeichnet; dieser Link wird in Kürze verfügbar sein. Der Präsident, der Schatzmeister und der Sekretär des New Zealand Accordion Association (NZAA) waren ebenso anwesend wie Mitglieder des Canterbury Accordion Association.
