 Der 70. Internationale CIA Coupe Mondiale vom 5. bis 10. September 2017 wird in Osimo, Italien, vom italienischen CIA-Mitglied, Italienische Akkordeonkultur (IAC) veranstaltet.Alle sind zu diesem spannenden internationalen Akkordeon-Event herzlichst willkommen und Akkordeonisten sind eingeladen, im CIA "World Accordion Orchestra IX" mitzuspielen. Das World Accordion Orchestra IX unter der Leitung von Prof. Joan Sommers wird drei Werke aufführen: 1. "Omaggio a Pietro Ouvertüre" von Pietro Frosini ist eine passende Hommage an die frühen italienischen Pioniere des Akkordeons. Frosini und Deiro, die das Originalwerk schrieben und Galla-Rini , der das Stück für Orchester arrangierte. 2. "La La Land" Medley komponiert von Justin Hurwitz. 3. "Schönheit und das Biest" Medley von Alan Menken Zu den Mitgliedern des CIA WAO IX gehören wieder Musiker aus vielen verschiedenen Ländern - darunter auch viele offizielle Mitglieder der CIA und Delegierte des 138. CIA-Kongresses. |

 Der lettischen Akkordeonistin Ksenija Sidorova wurde von der Echo Klassic, Deutschlands bedeutendster jährlichen Klassik-Auszeichnung, ein Award für die "Konzertaufzeichnung des Jahres 2016 " Aufzeichnung der Musik von Bizets "Carmen" verliehen. Die Preisverleihung findet im Oktober in Berlin statt.Ksenija Sidorovas CD 'Carmen', veröffentlicht am 3. Juni 2016, ist eine lebendige und exotische neue Instrumental-Aufnahme Georges Bizets Opernmeisterwerk, mit einem modernen Sound und originalem lateinischen Geist infundiert, zusammen mit Bizets Musik das Borusan Istanbul Philharmonic Orchester, unter der Leitung von Sascha Goetzel. Die Melodien der weltberühmten Oper sind in faszinierenden orientalischen Farben und den unwiderstehlichen Rhythmen des lateinamerikanischen Tanzes neu vorgestellt. Sidorova interpretiert die Titelrolle und verfolgt das leidenschaftliche, tragische Schicksal dieser ikonischen Femme Fatale auf ihrem Debütalbum für Deutsche Grammophon.  Das Loviisa Sibelius Festival wird am 8. September 2017 um 19.00 Uhr ein Konzert in der Porvoo-Kirche in Finnland veranstalten. Während des Konzertes wird die Weltpremiere der neuesten Arbeit von einem der renommiertesten Komponisten Finnlands, Prof. Aulis Sallinen (geb. 1935), präsentiert.Die Arbeit für Akkordeon, Violine, Cello und Klavier wurde zu Ehren des bevorstehenden 50. Geburtstags des finnischen Akkordeonisten Mika Väyrynen geschrieben. Auf Wunsch von Sallinen schließt diese neue 5-Bewegungsarbeit keine Programmnotizen ein, der einzige Text ist: "Diese Arbeit ist das Geburtstagsgeschenk an meinen Musikerfreund Mika Väyrynen." Dieses Stück wird die 6. Weltpremiere von Mika von Werken von Prof. Sallinen in ihrer mehr als 15-jährigen Zusammenarbeit sein. Die Weltpremiere dieses Werkes "Dance Music Suite Op. 107" für Akkordeon, Violine, Violoncello und Klavier wird von Mika und Mitspielern Elina Vähälä (Violine), Jan-Erik Gustafsson (Cello - Artistic Director des Loviisa Sibelius Festivals) Und Paavali Jumppanen (Klavier) gespielt. Diese Arbeit ist eine von sechs neuen Werken, die für Mika Väyrynen zu Ehren seines 50. Geburtstages (7. Oktober 2017) und Finnlands 100. Feier seiner Unabhängigkeit geschrieben wurden. Die anderen fünf Werke haben alle ihre "Weltpremiere" bei seinem kommenden Geburtstagskonzert am 11. Oktober 2017 in der Camerata Hall des Helsinki Music Centers. |

 Am Freitag, den 1. September, 19.30 Uhr feiert der diatonische Akkordeonist Fergie MacDonald's seinen 80. Geburtstag mit einem Grand Ceilidh im Nevis Center, Fort William, Schottland. Es werden viele Gäste auftreten, darunter Akkordeonspieler Gary Innes, der neue Moderator von BBC Radio Schottlands "Take the Floor".Fergie MacDonald, auch ein Physiotherapeut und ein internationaler Tontauben-Shooter, wird von vielen als der Mann angesehen, der den Westhochland-Stil der traditionellen schottischen Ceilidh-Tanzmusik populär machte. MacDonald hatte Topplatzierungen in den schottischen Pop-Charts im Jahr 1966 mit seiner Melodie 'Loch Maree'. Er wurde ursprünglich untersagt auf BBC wegen des traditionellen Vorsprechens zu erscheinen, aber ist jetzt regelmäßig auf BBC Radio Schottland, BBC und Radio nan Gaidheal zu Gast. Er reist heute noch durch die ganze Welt und hat bisher 23 Alben veröffentlicht. Er veröffentlichte 2003 seine Autobiographie, "Fergie: Erinnerungen an eine musikalische Legende". |

| The Black Country Accordion Club organiser Lou Ambrose writes: Once again this fabulous duo, the Classic Kyiv Duo, made the journey to visit this country and our club for a very special concert. We all look forward to Igor and Oleksiy calling to see us during their annual tour and all the preparations were made in advance for this fund raising event. As we anticipated we had almost a full house and everything was in place for the grand raffle and the anticipated auction. Thanks to the generosity of members and a local businessman we had a good selection of goods ranging from a vacuum cleaner, whiskey, champagne down to a dancing duck. Ray Izod opened the proceedings with a selection of popular tunes. He now makes a fairly regular appearance at the club and now seems to be settling in as one of our regular entertainers. So, Igor Sayenko and Oleksiy Kolomoiets, known as the Classic Accordion Duo began their concert. These guys still devote their tour to the Hipokrat Society and we know that by now what a wonderful job this charity does. The expected interval very quickly arrived indeed and as soon as everyone had enjoyed the refreshments the fundraising began. The draw for the Tote and the Raffle were soon over and the auction began, and thanks to everyone who made the effort to donate the goods and prizes do seem rather inadequate. Well done one and all. The Duo completed the second half of their repertoire to a standing ovation once again. ‘The Flight of the Bumblebee’ and their version of ‘The Waltz of the Flowers’ had drawn the most enthusiastic round of applause that evening. The evening was a great success with an excellent turnout with a number of new faces in the audience and we were very pleased to donate the sum of £742 to a very worthy cause. On Monday August 28th, 8pm, our guest is the versatile accordionist Jovan Rnjak, with Roy Nock on the drums. |

 On Sunday August 20th, 2pm, accordionist Erika, known as ‘The Princess of the Accordion’ and her keyboard accompanist Jean-Marie, play for dancing at the Restaurant 11 S’Y Sent Bien in Floreffe, Belgium.Erika Honorez studied the accordion, theory of music and classical music with Franz Lebrun from the Brussels Conservatory, and then specialized in the musette genre. Since 1981 Erika has been performing, composing, and recording. She has appeared on radio and TV in Belgium and France. Erika has recorded many CDs and DVDs, which are available through her website.  On Sunday August 20th, 6pm-8.30pm, Stanislav Angelov performs a solo ‘Piano Accordion Recital’ at Northwards House, Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa. His programme includes music by JS Bach, Chopin, Frosini, Galliano, Piazzolla, and more. Tickets cost 270 Rand, which includes wine and light supper. Stanislav Angelov studied the accordion in his native Bulgaria, and received a degree in accordion in 1991, after which he taught at the ‘Constantine Preslavsky’ University, Shumen.  Leonard Brown and his band perform at The Salutation Hotel in Perth, Scotland, on Sunday August 27th, 2pm until 5pm. Accordionists Iain McPhail and Brian Griffin will perform as special guests.Leonard Brown, from Newcastle, became only the second Englishman to become All Scotland Accordion Champion in 2012 (Robert Whitehead was the first in 1978). | The Castletown Accordion Orchestra (MD John Chilton) performs in a concert on Monday August 28th with the Akkordeon Landesjugend Orchester (ALJO) from Freiburg, Germany, and the Lambay Singers from Donabate, County Dublin, at St Anne’s Church, Bailborough, Virginia, County Cavan. Some accordion soloists will also contribute to this concert. The concert is hosted by the Irish Accordion Association. Admission is free, but voluntary contributions at the door will go to the Autistic Unit in Bailieboro Community School. |

 The London Accordion Orchestra (MD Ian Watson) performs in concert on Sunday September 3rd, 4.30pm to 6.30pm, at the Old Diarama Arts Centre (near Warren St tube station), 201 Drummond Street, London NW1 3FE. The LAO will share the concert with the highly accomplished Accordion State Youth Orchestra from Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany. Touring with the German orchestra are the renowned American Baritone Douglas Yates and virtuoso Bandoneonist Antje Steen. Admission is by a suggested donation of £10. LAO began life as Morley Accordion Orchestra, based at Morley College, London, in 1999. The ensemble plays a wide variety of music - from original works for accordion orchestra to show tunes and film scores. There are 30 members of the orchestra and for concerts we are joined by percussionists - so it's quite a sound! In May 2013 the MAO performed at the World Music Festival in Innsbruck, Austria. 2014 saw the orchestra host 2 foreign ensembles for concerts in London; 'Torkest' from Holland at the Dutch Church in the City and then the 'Nuremberg Accordion Orchestra' at St John's Smith Square.
