 Dans une carrière remarquable en tant qu’enseignant, concertiste et artiste ayant travaillé avec de nombreux compositeurs et ayant présenté de nombreuses premières de nouvelles oeuvres, Friedrich Lips sort maintenant son nouveau CD nommé Cocktail “Rio Rita”. Ce nouveau CD porte à 23 le nombre de CD’s de ce grand artiste, disponibles sur son site web.Cocktail “Rio Rita” offre une diversité au niveau des interprètes (voir la liste dans les informations sur les titres, ci-dessous), avec de nombreux styles de musique différents, qui en font magnifique CD de 58 minutes. Des extraits de chaque titre son disponibles sur le site web. Avec des pièces de Denisov, Piazzolla, Frosini, Podgaits, pour n’en nommer que quelques-uns, ce CD présente un véritable « Cocktail » de plaisir et d’excellence musicale. Cocktail “Rio Rita”. |

Coupe Mondiale 2011 Projet éducationel d’archivage vidéo – Chineby Harley Jones |

 Le projet éducationnel d’archivage vidéo était un nouveau projet en 2010 et il sera renouvelé lors de la Coupe Mondiale 2011. Le projet a été initié par la Confédération Internationale des Accordéonistes (CIA) grâce au soutien de Pigini et d’Accordions Worldwide. Le projet comprend :(i) Un enregistrement de toutes les catégories de la Coupe Mondiale et des concurrents, qui sera conservé dans les archives de la CIA en Finlande, qui deviendra au fil des ans une richesse pour l’histoire de l’accordéon. (ii) Des téléchargements gratuits des enregistrements des prestations des concurrents ayant obtenu les 1ère, 2ème et 3ème place dans chaque catégorie de la Coupe Mondiale. Ces enregistrements seront mis en ligne gratuitement pour que les professeurs d’accordéon et leurs étudiants puissent en bénéficier. Cela permettra d’augmenter le niveau général des accordéonistes au niveau international.  L’association lituanienne d’accordéon et l’académie lithuanienne de musique et de théâtre organisent le festival annuel international d’accordéon à Palanga, du 29 juin au 5 juillet.Cette année, le festival aura lieu au S. Vainiunas School of Music Hall, 8 Maironis Street, Palanga et proposera du jazz, de la musique contemporaine originale, des transcription de musique classique de la musique de variété Les invites du festival seront: le duo Yava (Vladimir Popolzin et Yana Fedoruk - Russie), l’ ensemble Subito (Biélorussie), Vitali Dmitriev (Russie), and Gintas Kristaps (Lettonie). Palanga propose aussi des séminaires par les professeurs suivants : Vitali Dmitriev (Russie), Andrej Ledeniov (Russie), Owen Murray (Grande-Bretagne) et de Lithuanie : Edward Gabnys, Raimondas Sviackevičius et Ričardas Sviackevičius.  Les comptes-rendus quotidiens du concours international australien d’accordéon (Australian International Championships), incluant les photos, les résultats et le programme, sont en ligne. La manifestation a eu lieu les 11 et 12 juin au club Marconi à Sydney. Les résultats de la plus haute catégorie solo du concours international sont les suivants : 1er. Piao Zhen (Chine), 2ème. Zhu Zheng (Chine), 3ème. Jia Ru (Chine). Piao Zhen est un étudiant du professeur Wang Hongyu, doyen du département des instruments à clavier du collège de musique de l’Université de Harbin. Le concert de gala proposait le programme suivant: - Sydney Balalaika Orchestra dirigé par Victor Serghie avec les accrodéonistes Richard She, Lina Chegodaev et Nick Scherbakov - Le démonstrateur Roland Ross Maio, - Le duo Aleksey Peresidliy (accordéon) et Dmitriy Zhdanov (saxophone) de Russie, - "The Accordigles" dirigé par Steve Marx - Ainsi que les vainqueurs du concours.  Renowned arranger Gary Dahl has released a new book ‘A Christmas Tradition’ - A Celebration with the Accordion by Gary Dahl. | On June 7th vibes and bottlephone player Zoran Madjirov led his band, featuring accordionist Toni Pecanov, in a concert presentation of their new CD ‘Roots On A Roof: Balkano Nuevo’, at the last night of the festival OFFEST at the Macedonian National Opera, in capital of Skopje. Toni Pecanov studied accordion at St. Kliment Ohridski, Sofia University, Bulgaria, graduating in 2002, and teaches at OU ‘Manus Turnovski’ in addition to performing. | The Accordions Worldwide news published on June 13th 1997 included the first article from Japan, about the annual ‘Viva Accordion’ festival. Is this festival still being held? ACCORDION FESTIVAL IN JAPAN Contributed by Mika Takayama The accordion festival "Viva, Accordion", with performances by amateur and professional accordionists, was held on the 1st of June at the Matsubara City Culture Hall in Osaka. The Festival is organised by the Japan Accordion Association and takes place once a year in Osaka. Mr Shoji Mikami played the local folk song "The River Konogawa, Paper Artisar's Song". Miss Midon Wakinaka, the President of the Hiroshima Accordion Kyohshitsu, performed "Like the Wind", which was written in memory of the late Mrs Wataki, who was a member of the Japan Accordion Association.  On Monday June 20th, 8pm, Joseph Natoli will be performing for the first time at the famed Chicago Accordion Club, Elmhurst American Legion Hall (Normandy Room), 310 Butterfield Rd, Elmhurst, Illinois. The Chicago Accordion Club is one of the most well-known in the country and Joe is preceded at this monthly meeting by such great artists as Art Van Damme, Frank Marocco, Eddie Monteiro, and Stas Venglevski. Also, following Joe at the July meeting will be accordion icon, Dick Contino.Joe will be playing a variety of original compositions and arrangements all specifically created for the Roland FR7X V Accordion, and featuring the orchestral sounds of the instrument. He will be performing a very accurate recreation of Aaron Copland’s orchestral masterpiece ‘Fanfare For the Common Man’, as well as a program of classical, light classical, and jazz favorites. Joe will also be presenting his two CD's (“Waltz For Ron” and “Omaggio”) and the new ‘Adult Accordion Method (Vol 1). In addition, since Joe is a Roland V-Accordion dealer, he will be happy to answer any questions about the V-Accordion line. |

 Accordionist Paul Chamberlain, from Edinburgh, will be performing with The Scottish Tango Ensemble in two concerts in Glasgow.On June 20th they are playing in the West End Festival as part of the Cottiers Chamber Project. This concert is in Cottier Theatre, 93-95 Hyndland Road, Glasgow, G11 5PU, and begins at 6pm. The Scottish Tango Ensemble have also teamed up with the Glasgow Tango Studio to present at 8.30pm on Friday June 24th a concert followed by a milonga in the Centre for Contemporary Arts in Glasgow. The ensemble was formed in 2009 and is a collaboration of four dynamic musicians based in Edinburgh and Glasgow: Gemma O’Keeffe (violin), Paul Chamberlain (accordion), Tom Berry (double bass) and Fiona Macleod (piano). Their program will include some of Piazzolla’s most famous concert tangos as well as more traditional repertoire from the dance halls of Buenos Aires.  For the second time, The Brian Laurie Accordion Showband from Paisley, Scotland, under the baton of Brian Laurie (picture left), are jetting off to Florida, USA. They have been invited by the Accordionists & Teachers Guild, International (ATG) to their 71st Annual Competition and Festival in Orlando to perform in concerts and hold workshops on Scottish Music and dancing. While in Florida the band will also perform in Disneyland. The Brian Laurie Accordion Showband has a very high level of playing, with each of the single orchestras having achieved first place at UK Accordion Championships over the years.  Accordionist and bandoneon player Klaus Paier leads a Jazz Workshop from July 18th to 23rd at the Musikforum, Klagenfurt-Viktring, Austria.Klaus Paier studied accordion, jazz and composition at Klagenfurt Conservatory, experimenting during this time in various styles (classical, jazz, contemporary music) and, since 1993, consistently carrying out his own projects. Whenever asked which form of music has influenced him most strongly, Klaus Paier replies: “Jazz and tango gave me the freedom to develop my own language of music”.  ‘Accordion Ventours to Italy’ is a Mediterranean cruise, October 13th to 27th, on the Italian MSC Sinfonia, visiting numerous places of interest. The organizer is accordionist Mel Cohen, of Cut Throat Travel in Napa, California, USA. During the cruise there will be time for various accordion workshops and seminars. The itinerary includes: October 13th – cruise departs from Naples October 14th – visits to Lovorno, Villefranche sur Mer near Nice, Valencia, Ibiza, La Goulette in Tunisia and Catania. October 21st - another night in Naples with time for sightseeing, including Sorrento, the Isle of Capri, the Amalfi Drive October 22nd – visit to the Roland World V-Accordion Championships in Rome October 23rd/24th – visit to Castelfiardo, including the Accordion Museum and accordion factories October 25th - spend a day at the Roland Europe Factory and the evening in San Benedetto del Tronto.
