 Der musikalische Gast bei der Miss Italia Endrunde 2012, RAI TV am 10. September, war der berühmte italienische Sängerin Biagio Antonacci, mit dem Akkordeonisten Massimo Tagliata, die zusammen ein Medley aus drei seiner bekanntesten Antonacci Songs "Quanto tempo e ancora", "Pazzo di lei" und "Se io Se lei" aufführten.Das erste Video zeigt dieses beeindruckenden Duett und am Ende, betont Biagio Antonacci, dass das Akkordeon eines der großen Instrumente ist, welches in Castelfidardo handgefertigt wird! Der zweite Bühnenauftritt ist mit seinem größten Hit "Non più vivo senza te", mit sehr vielen Akkordeonsoloeinlagen und war der meistverkaufte Titel in diesem Sommer in Italien. Eine wirklich großartige Werbung für das Akkordeon. |

Castelfidardo Festival eröffnet mit „Before Festival Konzerten“, Daily Reports - Italienby Harley Jones |

 Das 2012 Internazionale Akkordeon Festival in Castelfidardo eröffnete seinen Event bereits am 13. September mit einem Konzert in Loreto als Teil des „Before Festival Programmes“, um das Festival mit ihren Veranstaltungen der italienischen Öffentlichkeit näher zu bringen.Das erste Konzert war mit Danilo Di Paolonicola, Mirco Patarinin und Mari D'Amariol. Diese Veranstaltung wurde von Scandalli Akkordeons, Paolo Soprani und Roland Europe gesponsert. Das Programm der einzelnen Spieler war abwechslungsreich und zeigte wirklich eine große Bandbreite an musikalischen Stilen und die außergewöhnlichen Charakteristiken des Akkodeons – diatonisch – klassisch, digital mit unendlichen Möglichkeiten in Hände von Profis. Ein sehr schöne Konzert in der "Bevor Festival 'Konzertreihe. |

 "Accordions International 2012" findet im Mundeseley Holiday Village, Paston Rd, Norfolk NR11 8BT, in der Nähe des bisherigen Austragungsorten Hemsby und Caister, vom 5 bis 8 Oktober 2012 statt.Die wichtigsten Gäste sind Giancarlo Caporilli (Italien, oben links), Pearl Fawcett-Adriano (Bild Mitte), Harry Hussey (unten), David Price, Alan Young, Sue Coppard, Roy Hendrie, Rosemary Wright, Bert Santilly, The Clarinet Connection und das Akkordeon Quintett Norvic Concordia (MD Peter Ayers). Der Veranstalter ist Heather Smith. Das Festival umfasst tagsüber und abends Konzerte, Workshops, Scottish Tanz. Die Aussteller sind: The Accordion Shop, Birmingham Akkordeon Centre, Limex, MAP Editionen und Robaccord Publikationen. Die Workshops sind mit: Elementary Orchestra (MD Rosemary Wright, Intermediate Orchestra (Brian Jenkins), Swing Band (Heather Smith / Geoff Gook), Jazz Group (Bert Santilly), Buskers Band (Bert Santilly), Scottish Band (Roy Hendrie), Vintage Band (Jean Hanger) und Komponisten Corner (Sue Coppard). Für sportliche Teilnehmer gibt es auch ein Schwimmbad. Der ursprüngliche Veranstalter des Festivals, der verstorbene Malcolm Gee, berühmt für seine Worte über diesen Event mit "... komplettes Schwelgen in Akkordeons" … und wie recht er hatte!  Popular Scottish duo fiddle player Aly Bain and accordionist Phil Cunningham have just released ‘Five and Twenty’, their 6th album, and it has the usual mix of great tunes.The CD title has been picked because this is the 25th year that Phil and Aly have been touring so this is their Silver Jubilee year. On the air at Vancouver's CFRO Co-op Radio (100.5 fm, Starchoice 845 and Telus TV: Channel 718) since December 2006, their broadcasts are also podcasted to an international audience of hundreds at accordionnoir.orgAiming to represent the global diversity of regional musical genres and styles the instrument is used in, the show celebrates and champions the renaissance of the accordion.  The Kyiv Classic Duo – accordionists Igor Sayenko and Oleksiy Kolomoeits – have done several concert tours of Great Britain, each time raising money for the victims of the Chernoby nuclear disaster via the Hippokrat Society charity. Igor Sayenko writes, “Last June we have been to UK with concerts as before. Speaking about raising fund for the Hippokrat Society, we are proud to say we have raised £3,893! This is less, than on 2010 and 2011 years, but I think it's still worth to do it. So, after some requests for year 2013 and some discussions we are starting to plan our next journey to the UK for July 2013”.The Kyiv Classic Duo are one of the world’s finest accordion duos, and have acquired a loyal following in the UK.   The Accordions Worldwide news for September 18th 1998 included mention of a BBC TV program that referred to Charles Wheatstone, inventor of the English concertina and a renowned scientist in the 19th Century. Wheatstone was one of several Europeans who experimented with the Chinese imported sheng, resulting in the invention of such instruments as the concertina, bandoneon, harmonica, harmonium, and, of course, the accordion. We should all be thankful for their efforts and ingenuity. SCIENCE AND CONCERTINAS - UK Contributed by Chris Timson A new series of the popular science program ‘Local Heroes’ has just started on BBC 2 (UK). The October 5th edition has a segment devoted to Charles Wheatstone, inventor of the concertina and is mostly set in the computer games shop in Gloucester where he was born. Chris Timson was asked to provide consultancy for the show and he also provided the concertinas shown in the broadcast. Of particular interest is the symphonium, loaned by Colin Dipper. The symphonium is the direct predecessor of the concertina, and Chris believes there are no more than 20 left in the world. |

 Accordionist Paul Chamberlain will be performing with the Scottish Tango Ensemble on Saturday September 15th for the Mid-Argyll Arts Association in Ardrishaig Church Hall. Paul will also be giving a solo lunchtime recital in Sheffield Cathedral on Tuesday September 25th at 1.15pm, featuring works by Bach, Scarlatti, Semionov, Angelis and Weber. October 3rd sees Paul giving a joint concert in Inverness Town House with Matthew MacLennan which will feature a mixture of Scottish and Classical repertoire.  Accordionist Gjovalin Nonaj performs a recital on September 23rd, 3pm, at the Centre Européen de Médiation (asbl), 119 rue de l’Hôtel des monnaies, 1060 Brussels. Gjovalin Nonaj was born in Lezhe, Albania, in 1968, and comes from a family of singers and traditional musicians. He took his first steps as a musician at the age of 5 years on the çifteli (lute with 2 chords). Later, he studied clarinet, horn and accordion. Now resident in Belgium, he has dual Belgian/Albanian nationality, and has studied accordion at the conservatories of Tirana and Brussels. His music and his singing are rooted in the Balkan traditions, though he also has a large repertoire of popular and classical music. He performs as a solo artist and with other musicians, such as the ‘Lule bore Quartet’. He has made several CDs and tours often with groups or solo through Europe, the Balkans, and Africa.
