Nouveau CD de Mika Väyrynen et Angel Luis Castaño - Finlandeby Kimmo Mattila |
 Un nouveau CD de Mika Väyrynen (Finlande) et Angel Luis Castaño (Espagne) vient de sortir.C’est le Finnish Accordion Institute d’Ikaalinen qui a produit cette publication internationale spéciale disponible en ligne à : Finland Recordings Mika Väyrynen et Angel Luis Castaño sont tous deux bien connus comme solistes, chacun ayant publié plusieurs albums solo, et il est très captivant d’entendre leur talents combinés sur ce CD entièrement consacré au duo d’accordéons. J.S. Bach: Toccata en Fa majeur BWV 540, Concerto en La mineur BWV593, A.Vivaldi sont des transcriptions de célèbres pièces baroques suivies de l’Adagio de Samuel Barber. La Ballade de Torbjörn Lundquist, Le Duo de Harri Wessman comme la Tarantella de Vaclav Trojan sont d’excellents duos originaux des années 1960 à 1980. La pièce finale de l’album est Divagación y Tango du compositeur espagnol Julio Oscar Pane.  Le dimanche 7 juillet 2013 à 16 h 30, sur la Piazza della Repubblica, à Castelfidardo, Ancone, sera menée une tentative d’établir un nouveau record du plus grand nombre d’accordéonistes jouant ensemble. Les organisateurs tablent sur 1200 accordéonistes pour jouer ‘Happy Birthday’, en célébration du 150ème anniversaire de la fondation de l’industrie de l’accordéon par Paolo Soprani en 1863.Les organisateurs invitent les accordéonistes à gagner les lieux à l’heure pour cette tentative de record qui commencera à 16 h 30 précises. Le nombre attendu sera comptabilisé électroniquement sur la place. Pour rejoindre les lieux en auto, se garer à Porta Marina ou laisser la voiture derrière les remparts à Scuole Medie ou prendre le shuttle depuis le Vecchio Ospedale (vieil hôpital). |

| Ted Dwane du groupe Mumford & Sons a un caillot sanguin cérébral. Le bassiste de 28 ans a été hospitalisé hier (le 10 juin 2013) au Texas pendant le US tour et un scanner a révélé qu’il devait être opéré d’urgence. Un message posté sur le site officiel du groupe dit : “Ted ne se sentait pas bien depuis plusieurs jours et hier il a été conduit à l’hôpital pour un traitement d’urgence. Le scanner a révélé un caillot sanguin dans son cerveau qui nécessite une opération. Ted reçoit d’excellents soins et nous sommes assurés qu’il se remettra très vite de l’opération ». Après une tournée en Angleterre, le groupe folk-rock indie – qui comprend aussi Marcus Mumford (lead vocals, guitare, mandoline, percussions), Ben Lovett (vocals, accordéon, claviers, percussions), et Winston Marshall (vocals, banjo, guitare, dobro) – annonce qu’il reporte ses trois prochaines dates aux US ce week end, mais espère pouvoir reprendre sa tournée d’été. Mumford & Sons, vainqueur des Grammy Awards s’est formé en 2007. Tous à Accordions Worlswide souhaitons à Ted Wayne un prompt rétablissement. |

Le Championnat Festival international 2013 organisé par l’AATA s’est tenu samedi 8 et dimanche 9 juin au Mt Pritchard Hall.  Le populaire accordéoniste et professeur écossais Gary Blair, récemment revenu d’une tournée en Chine, va reprendre l’avion pour se produire cette fois à l’Ouest au lieu de l’Est.Le 16 juillet Gary s’envole pour les USA et il se produira, donnera des cours et sera jury au festival international annuel d’accordéon de Leavenworth, Washington qui se tiendra du 20 au 23 juillet. Le 28 juillet Gary se produira à la Sequim Prairie Grange, Washington. Il descendra ensuite à Portland, Oregon, pour un concert le dimanche 30 juin à 14h00, au Portland Community Music Centre, concert suivi par un autre le dimanche 1er juillet à 19h00 au Veteran's Memorial Building d’ Eugene, Oregon.  On July 1st UK-based Latvian accordionist Ksenija Sidorova releases a new CD, ‘Fairy Tales’, featuring old and new repertoire, transcriptions and orginal works. Ksenija Sidorova performs on the recording with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, conducted by Clark Rundell. The CD appears on the Champs Hill Records label, serial number CHRCD055.The CD tracks are: 1) ‘Caprice Espagnol’ - Moskowski 2 – 8) ‘Fairy Tales, a Concerto for Accordion’ - Vaclav Trojan 9) ‘Who's the Puppet?’ - Artem Vassiliev 10 – 14) ‘Holberg Suite’ - Grieg 15) ‘Scherzo - Midsummer Night's Dream’ - Mendelssohn 16) ‘Scherzo – Toccata’ - Petr Londonov Ksenija was recently awarded the Latvian Grand Music Award 1212 'Outstanding Performance' prize. | Rade Mijatovic - 1st Prize winner of senior Coupe Mondiale 2005, in Castelo Branco, Portugal performs Impasse III and IV movement. This video put online on Nov 18, 2011. The composition Impasse by (available online at) Franck Angelis was the test piece for the 2004 Coupe Mondiale in Pontarlier, France. Contestants could choose any 2 movements of this work. I - Allegro Ritmico II - Andante Doloroso III - Adagio Sostenuto IV - Vivace Finale Since that time, the work has proved popular with many competitors in international competitions performing the work and also many concert performances around the world.  The Accordions Worldwide news for the week ending June 11th 1999 reported that Bernadette Conlon, from Australia, had the recently become the South Pacific Solo Champion in New Zealand, adding another title to her long list of successes in accordion competitions. Since then, Bernadette has married, becoming Mrs Zabawa, and moved to Chicago, USA. Conlon Does It Again - New Zealand Contributed by Wayne Knights The 1999 New Zealand Accordion Championships and Festival were held from June 4th to 6th in Auckland. The event opened on Friday evening with a ‘Mix & Mingle’ to welcome overseas competitors and visitors. Adjudicators included many well known New Zealand accordion teachers and entertainers as well as overseas guests such as Professor Li Wei Ming from China. Winner of the South Pacific Piano Accordion Solo Competition was Bernadette Conlon (Australia) who also won the International Australian title last weekend. Guest performers included Tracey Collins, Lian Huang, North Shore Accordion Orchestra (conducted by Lionel Reekie and Heather Masefield) and SCWALT quintet. Special guest artist John MacDonald entertained an enthusiastic audience on the Saturday evening, after which he was honoured for his enormous contribution towards the popularity of the accordion with a New Zealand Accordion Association Life Membership presentation.
