| Die Feierlichkeiten zum 85-jährigen Bestehen der American Accordionists' Association (AAA) wird vom 12. bis 16. Juli 2023 im Marriott Philadelphia West in Conshohocken, PA, stattfinden.  Das Veronica Todorova Trio wird bei der 5. Ausgabe von Jam on the River auftreten, die am 4. und 5. August 2023 in Debnevo, Troyan, Bulgarien stattfindet.Das Trio besteht aus Veronika Todorova (Akkordeon - Bild links), Stanislav Georgiev (Kontrabass) und Stefan Todorov (Schlagzeug). Die Veranstaltung findet "unter den Sternen des Balkans, beim rhythmischen Rauschen des Flusses Vidima..... statt, wo die Natur und die Kunst der Musik Magie schaffen". |

Nord Akkordeon Festival 2023 - Norwegenby Christine Johnstone |
  Das Nord Accordion 2023 wird vom 1. bis 6. August 2023 in den Konzertorten Ole Bull Akademiet, Stalheim Hotel und der schönen Bakka Chuch in Voss, Norwegen, stattfinden.Das Festival umfasst eine Vielzahl von Konzerten, Meisterklassen, eine Sommerakademie und Seminare für junge Akkordeonisten. Die Konzerte werden ein breites Spektrum norwegischer und internationaler Akkordeonisten in vielen Genres präsentieren, mit Programmen von zeitgenössischer und klassischer Musik bis hin zu Jazz und norwegischer Volksmusik. Das traditionelle Eröffnungskonzert findet am 1. August in Osasalen statt, mit Auftritten von Veli Kujala (Finnland - Bild oben rechts), Volksmusik aus Møre und Romsdal, Marius Berglund und Kristina Farstad Bjørdal. Der künstlerische Leiter Geir Draugsvoll und die Projektleiterin Kristina Farstad Bjørdal werden Auszüge aus dem neu geschriebenen Werk "Friggs Rokk" von Jorun Marie Kvernberg aufführen. August 2023 in Sidmouth, Devon, England statt und bietet eine Vielzahl von Tages- und Abendkonzerten, ein Kinderfestival, einen Jig-Wettbewerb, Workshops und vieles mehr.Zu den Akkordeonisten gehören Le Vent Du Nord, James Delarre & Saul Rose duo (Bild oben links), Talisk, Skerryvore, Good Habits, Cohen Braithwaite-Kilcoyne, Squeezebox from Scratch (Ed Rennie & Helena Painting - Bild oben rechts), Eliza Carthy Trio und Fisherman's Friends. Workshops werden von John Kirkpatrick (Festival Concert Band), Squeezebox from Scratch (Anfänger auf dem Melodeon) und Steve Turner (Melodeon für Fortgeschrittene, Konzertina für Anfänger und Fortgeschrittene und Liedbegleitung auf der Konzertina) gehalten. |

| Video: Sam Reider: Quintet for Accordion and Strings, Movement 1. Premiered by Sam Reider and Del Sol Quartet at the Center for New Music, San Francisco, California, USA on May 15th, 2022. Sam says “This piece was the culminating project for my graduate degree in composition. My goal was to explore the various textures and colors that could be created with this unique combination of instruments. Although the work was written for a classical string quartet, you’ll hear some of the same folkloric rhythms, melodies, and techniques that imbue my work with the ‘Human Hands’.” |

| The Trio Paier-Valcic-Preinfalk will perform at the opening ceremony of the Salzburg Festival in the Courtyard of the Bürgerspital in Salzburg, Austria on July 22nd, 2023, at 4.30pm. The festival features 31 venues with 85 programme items and 11,000 available tickets.  Gilles Kusmeruck & François Heim will hold a “Music of the Balkans” workshop in Hamlet of Chalap, Senechas, France from July 23rd to 29th, 2023, organised by the Balagan Company. The workshop is for all levels except beginners.Gilles Kusmeruck will cover Bulgarian, Serbian, Romanian and Gypsy themes using the scores that will be available (musicians who play mainly by ear are welcome). We will discuss ornamentation, key to the style and "language" of this music as well as the main asymmetrical rhythms. We will also work on the accompaniment as well as the 2nd voices in order to constitute an ensemble music group. François Heim will cover diatonic and chromatic accordion simple themes, study asymmetrical rhythms and ornaments specific to these musics, learning and setting up the accompaniment of the pieces (work of the right hand chords). He will join Gilles' group for one hour a day on two common pieces that they will work during the week to share a moment of collective music with other instrumentalists.   "Meet the Musician Behind the Sound" ist eine neue Serie von Interviews mit jungen und aufstrebenden Akkordeonisten, damit Sie sie besser kennen lernen können. Die Mitarbeiter, die die Interviews führen, sind Adele Pirozzolo und Andrea Di Giacomo.Das Interview mit Romuald Lefebvre wird jetzt veröffentlicht, herausgegeben von Andrea Di Giacomo. Romuald Lefebvre trat 2017 mit dem Philharmonischen Orchester von Radio France auf. Er unterrichtet auch am Conservatoire de Calais und in Boulogne-Sur-Mer. Da er sich für die Entwicklung des Akkordeons einsetzt, war er einer der Gründer der Association des Professeurs de Haut de France. Er hat 2 Soloalben aufgenommen, "Eclectique" im Jahr 2013 und "Toccata" im Jahr 2014. Es gibt eine große Fülle an Geschichte rund um die AAA, so viele Persönlichkeiten, Veranstaltungen, Konzerte, die alle organisiert wurden, um das Akkordeon zu fördern.
