Joe Morelli ... von uns gegangen - Kanadaby Rob Howard |
 Der führende kanadische Akkordeon Lehrer, Musiker, Dirigent, Komponist, Arrangeur, Joe Morelli ist am 4. März von uns gegangen. Joe Morelli (1929-2009) wurde von Alf Carson unterrichtet und war der erste Kanadier, der mit einem Symphonieorchester als Akkordeonist auftrat. Im Jahr 1997 schrieb Joe Morelli "Ziel: Focus", ein einzigartiges und beliebtes Buch, das sich nicht nur mit praktischen Fragen des Akkordeonspielens auseinandersetzte, sondern auch über die Philosophie und Psychologie des Musikmachens. In den letzten Jahren unterrichtete Joe Morelli regelmäßig auf Akkordeonveranstaltungen, wie dem jährlichen Event in Oregon, USA, wo seine Fähigkeit, Akkordenisten verschiedensten Levels schnell zu einem Ensemble zusammenzusetzen, legendär wurde. Er wurde von allen, die ihn kannten äußerst geschätzt. |

 ‘Accordions International 2009’, organisiert von Heather Smith, findet in diesem Jahr vom 8-12 Mai in Pontins, Lytham St Annes, Blackpool, Lancashire, statt. Die Gastkünslter sind Pino di Modugno - Italien, Alexander Dmitriev and Vitali Dmitriev – Russiland, Giancarlo Caporilli - Italien, David Vernon - Schottland, Romano Viazzani, Stefan Andrusyschyn & Denise Leigh (Soprano), Bert Santilly und Harry Hussey. Während des Festivals wird auch die neue Edition des Akkordeonreferenz-Buches ‘An A to Z of the Accordion, Volume 4’, von Rob Howard vorgestellt. Weiters am Programm gibt es: Workshops, Masterklassen, Konzerte, Tanzabende und jede Menge Jam-sessions.  Accordion Revolution 2009 ist in Greci´(AV), Italien im vollen Gange und läuft noch bis zum 15. März in Greci (AV). Der Festivaldirektor ist Antonio Spaccarotella mit international anerkannten Künstlern wie: Renzo Ruggieri, Ludovic Beier, Sergio Scappini, and Claudio Azzaro. Workshops, Ausstellungen, Demonstrationen des Roland V-Akkordeons komplettieren diesen Event in seiner bereits 4. Edition. Am Sonntag gibt es eine Masterklasse mit den Artisten Giuseppe Scigliano und Danilo di Paolonicola. Ensemble Fandango at “Another Space” Festival - Russlandby Alexander Poeluev |
 Vom 16. bis 18. März 2009 veranstaltet die Moskauer Philharmonik Society das erste Festival mit dem Titel "Another Space". Ein Festival, das speziell zur Förderung neuer Musik, der Unterstützung junger Künstler und Interpreten, sowie zeitgenössischer Kunst, ins Leben gerufen wurde. Viele junge und bereits bekannte Künstler aus der modernen akademischen Musik Russlands werden an diesem Festival teilnehmen. Treffpunkt für den ersten Termin ist um 20.00 Uhr am 18. März im Kammermusiksaal der Moskauer Philharmoniker mit dem Ensemble Fandango. Das Ensemble wurde 2005 an der Russischen Musik Akademie (Gnesin) von noch-Studenten und Absolventen formiert, sowie dem Initiator des Quintett Prof. Viatcheslav Semionov formiert. Die Akkordeonisten sind Gewinner vieler nationaler und internationaler Wettbewerber - Maxim Fedorov (Akkordeon), Konstantin Kaznacheev (Violine), Artur Adamyan (Violine), Artem Valentinov (Viola), Peter Karetnikov (Cello). Von Fandango uraufgeführt wird das neue Werk "Togehter", in fünf Stücken für Violine und Akkordeon, komponiert von dem ukrainischen Komponisten Alexander Schetinskay. Weiters in ihrem Programm: "Bewegungen" von T. Lundquist für Akkordeon und Streichquartett, sowie die Musik von Wolfgang Rihm, Andrey Zelensky und Sergey Berinsky |

 Last week concert accordionist José Valadez performed the ‘Concerto Armonico’, by Roberto Caberlotto. It was the premiere in Central America. The concert was celebrated at the Escuela Superior de Música y Danza de Monterrey, México.The Concerto is for Accordion, guitar and string ensemble. The other 2 are also online at www.youtube.com Accompanied by the orchestra, José Valadez also performed ‘Ojos Negros (Dark Eyes)’ and ‘Ciribiribin’. He also gave solo renditions of ‘Orpheus in the Underworld’ and ‘Huapango’, by José Pablo Moncayo (You can find this videos also at youtube, just search: José Valadez). |

| The Akkordeon Viel - Harmony Salzburg perform on Sunday March 15th, 5pm, at Bachschmiede, Jakob Lechner Weg 2-4, 5071 Wals+. The Akkordeon Viel - Harmony Salzburg plays tunes from various periods and genres, but all have to do with dance. Under the leadership of Robert Ebner, the accordion orchestra will be transformed into a saloon orchestra, performing works by Boccherini and Dvorak, from ABBA to Frank Sinatra.  Devotchka perform on March 18th, 8pm, at People's Court, 216 Court Ave, Des Moines, CA. Devotchka is a Denver-based quartet: Nick Urata - vocals/guitar, Tom Hagerman - accordion/violin (picture left), Jeanie Schroder - upright bass/tuba, and Shawn King - drums/trumpet. Sometimes billed as Eastern European indie rock, the band blends gypsy, folk, mariachi, and rock influences effortlessly. No instrument is off limits, either: violin, sousaphone, trumpet, double bass, theramin, bouzouki, and, of course, the accordion (played by Tom Hagerman) all take turns on center stage. Meanwhile, frontman Nick Urata’s haunting voice soars above it all. |

 Italian accordionist Marco Lo Russo can be seen on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday on the TV program ‘42.12 Mediterraneo d'europa’, broadcast on SAT2000 or on SKY 801.
