Fallecimiento de Mario Moreschi, Castelfidardo – Italiaby Accordions Worldwide |
 Con profunda tristeza, la AWW lamenta anunciar la muerte de Mario Moreschi el pasado 10 de agosto durante la noche, tras una breve enfermedad. Tenía 65 años.Mario fue miembro fundador de la compañía Pasco y nieto de Giuseppe Moreschi. El acordeón Moreschi celebró su centenario el pasado año. Fotografía derecha: Mario Moreschi en Pasco Italia / expositor de Paolo Soprani en la Frankfurt Musik Messe de marzo del 2011. Mario deja una esposa, Daniela, una hija, Martina y un hijo, Michele. Acompañamos en el sentimiento a la família en estos momentos. El funeral será el sábado 13 de agosto por la mañana, en Castlefidardo. |

| El Canal Deschamps Channel es una forma emocionante de acceder a una educación musical y televisión real dónde puedes seguir las master clases de Frédéric Deschamps en vivo, o ver la videoteca de clases pasadas que está disponible online en cualquier momento. El planning de las master clases en vivo se anunciará en la página web de Frédéric Deschamps. Por ejemplo, la semana que vienen, de 18.30 a 22.30 del lunes 15 al viernes 19, podeis escuchar master clases de: Christel Sautaux (Suiza), Evin Kelly (Irlanda), Jose Dias y Natanael Teixeira (Portugal), Alexander Kolovski (Macedonia), Matthias Matzke (Alemania), Grayson Masefield (Nueva Zelanda), así como cursos en Skype con varios artistas internacionales. Los cursos se imparten en Inglés, Francés e Italiano. Los espectadores también pueden participar haciendo preguntas a través de la página y de Skype, y Frédéric Deschamps les responderá directamente mediante video.  Disfrutando del buen tiempo, durante las vacaciones escolares los miembros de la Schlüchttal-Akkordeon-Orchester Gurtweil tocaron en la boda de Christian y Angelica en la fantástica iglésia de Weilheim, para hacer que este día fuera memorable.Los recién casados y sus invitados no pudieron resistir a mover los pies con los temas cuidadosamente seleccionados para la ocasión, como por ejemplo, música coral, rock e incluso Flashdance. La interpretación de la orquesta fue recibida con muchos aplausos, especialmente cuando tocaron para la pareja un tema que habían ensayado en secreto.  La XV Semana Internacional del Acordeón Week incluyó el XVI Trofeo Nacional de Acordeón, con conciertos y eventos especiales, que hacieron que este año fuera uno de los mejores Trofeos Nacionales que ha habido nunca. Fue un gran éxito!El trofeo nacional de 2011 ofreció alrededor de 40 actos en que participaban 40 jóvenes acordeonistas deevents involving about 40 young accordionists from north to south with a very strong educational component, lots of encouragement and a warmth presence amongst all the participants. Como es habitual, se hizo una master class. Esta vez a cargo de Mario Stefano Pietrodarchi y también conciertos high-class. Hay que destacar el concierto de clausura de João Barradas (foto de la derecha) y del Tango Duo (Pietrodarchi/Luccini). De nuevo, la Asociación de Acordeón y Orquesta de Alcobaça ha organizado un evento internacional de gran calidad para el acordeón en Portugal. |

 During the 5th Accordion Art Festival Pineto special concerts with Igor Zavadsky (Ukraine) and the great Friedrich Lips (Russia) took place. The international jury included artists such as Zorica Karakutovska, Frederic Deschamps, Herbert Scheibenreif as well as some of the best known Italian masters.Picture left, Artistic Director Renzo Ruggieri and Friedrich Lips. The Orpheus Awards (annual critics' prizes) went to: Caesare Chiacchiaretta, El Alma de Piazzolla (Quartet Suarez Paz) for the classical accordion, Daniele Di Bonaventura Sine Nomine (Harmonia Mundi) for the accordion and jazz, Bube Sapravie, B. Petrus Spaghetti Sauce (Most Records) for World Music, and a special Orpheus career award to Friedrich Lips. The Italian selection for the next Trophée Mondial CMA (Pineto, September 13th to 18th) and the CIA Coupe Mondiale (China, October 1st to 6th) has accepted eight candidates amongst the classical categories, and virtuoso categories: Sciammarella Simone, Francesco Bracci, Domenico D'Annunzio, Bosic Lorenzo, Andrea Di Giacomo, Matthew Petronio, George Albanian, and Antonio Simeone. The National Final of Roland V-Accordion has seen the triumph of Pietro Adragna in the senior and Andrea Di Giacomo in the junior category. The Artistic Direction was Renzo Ruggieri, and Salvatore Cauteruccio was the President of the festival, and Claudio Azzaro the Secretary. | Dr. Robert Young McMahan (accordion) and Dr. Paul Cohen (soprano saxophone) presented the World Premiere of Dr. McMahan's composition, "Romp II" at the Tenri Cultural Center. The premiere was held during the 17th Annual 2011 AAA Master Class and Workshop Series organized and hosted by AAA Board member, Dr. William Schimmel. The composition was very enthusiastically received by the audience. During the performance, the audience enjoyed the interwoven melodies of saxophone and accordion and a contemporary sound that was exciting yet lyrical at times. |

| For the last 9 years, the Music Association of Dores has organized summer accordion training courses with teachers Domi Emorine and Roman Jbanov. The first week of August included players from 5 countries: France, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Russia, and Kazakhstan. Due to the large numbers attending, Domi and Roman brought in an assistant, Félicien Brut, so that each of the trainees benefited from one period a day with the different teachers. The training course was opened up to every level and to all ages, and different music styles were approached: variety, classic, musette, and jazz. The training course was held in the premises of the Casino Municipal of La Bourboule. The second day, Domi and Roman, as the Paris Moscou Duo, presented their new album, featuring music by Franck Angelis, in a concert open to the public. This concert was like a musical trip from Russia to France, by imagining the ‘Troika in the Winter’ of Shalaiev, and by singing Russian and French popular airs. The end of the training course was followed by a video of the first and last day when students saw their progress made during the training course, after which the trainees gave a concert in the room of the city hall of the Mont Dore. Everybody left satisfied with their musical week with the intention to return in further training courses.  ‘A Jimmy Shand Dance Party’, an LP recorded in 1955 by Jimmy Shand and his Scottish Dance Band, has been released on CD. In the 1950s the legendary button accordionist Jimmy Shand was at the height of his popularity, and his recordings and broadcasts personified Scottish dance music for people in many countries around the world. A most prolific recording artiste, Shand’s LPs, EPs and single releases were eagerly sought, and his music was always cleanly played and made cheerful listening. Tracks: ‘Grand March’, ‘Canadian Barn Dance’, ‘Glasgow Highlanders’, ‘Hesitation Waltz’, ‘Highland Scottische’, ‘Flowers of Edinburgh’, ‘Pride Of Erin’, ‘Strip The Willow’.  Along with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, the Auckland Philharmonic Orchestra is the only other fully professional Symphony Orchestra in New Zealand. During the past week, they have been performing music to the 1921 classic silent movie ‘The 4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse’, about the life of a Tango instructor (played by Rudolf Valentino).Under the baton of Sir William Southgate, the orchestra performs through the entire movie. Throughout, their timing has to be exact, to combine with the movie, which certainly kept the conductor and orchestra on their toes! A standout feature was accordionist Tatiana Lanchtchikova. As well as being a vital part of the orchestra, on many occasions she performed solo, which was extremely well received by the sellout audiences, which averaged over 1,500 a night. |

 On September 24th the Serbian Duo of Petar Maric and Aleksandar Nikolic will perform a concert as part of the 36th Castelfidardo Premio Concorso & Festival Internazionale Fisarmonica in Italy.Peter Maric (accordion), winner of Coupe Mondiale and Trophée Mondial classical and entertainment categories and Aleksandar Nikolic (bandoneon) Astor Piazzolla Music Award winner and leader of the highly regarded Beltango Quintet will perform a program titled "Buttons and Bellows, Finally Together" in reference to "After 15 years of collaboration, they finally meet each other on the concert stage" ..... The program will include compositions by Franck Angelis, Zolotariev, Voytenko, Vlasov, Galliano, Piazzolla and by Aleksandar Nikolic. |

 Well known Manfred Leuchter has gathered a range of musicians around him (with whom he has worked with in recent years) to form an "All-Star" band for a big open-air concert on 20th August in Burg Wilhelmstein in Würselen (near Aachen) in Germany.This concert is designed to compliment the performance of Manfred Leuchter with other musicians including specially flown-in guests: guitarist Ian Melrose from Scotland, NY-based Syrian clarinet virtuoso Kinan Azmeh, vocalist Dima Orsho from Damascus, the Iranischen percussion-magician Afra Mussawisade and of course the stellar Leuchter band of Antoine Pütz (bass), Steffen Thormählen (drums), Christoph Titz (trombone) und Sebastian Pottmeier (saxophone).  Accordionist Mario Tacca and vocalist Mary Mancini are performing once again at Peekskill's Italian Festa, New York, on Friday August 12th at 6.30pm and Sunday August 14th at 2.30pm. Each set will be an hour-long performance.
