2011 Coupe Mondiale in Shanghai bisher zahlreichste Wettbewerbsteilnahm - Chinaby Harley Jones |
Mit ungefähr 170 Teilnehmern für den 2011 Coupe Mondiale Wettbewerb in Shanghai China, übersteigt diese Anmeldezahl um fast 50 Anmeldungen die bisherigen Daten. Diese zusätzlichen Anmeldungen sind sicherlich auf die erheblichen Unterstützungen, wie Verpflegung und Unterkunft für die 50 nationalen Teilnehmer des chinesischen Gastgebers zurückzuführen, die von der Akkordeon-Vereinigung der chinesischen Musiker Association (CAA) und der Shanghai Musicians Association zur Verfügung gestellt wurden. Der Coupe Mondiale wurde im Jahre 1938 ins Leben gerufen und am 1970 gab es nur eine Kategorie (Coupe Mondiale), die normalerweise im Durchschnitt etwa 17 bis 20 nationale Teilnehmer hatte. Erst im Jahr 1974 wurde die Virtuoso Entertainment Kategorie zur Probe angesetzt, die als eine zusätzliche Kategorie betrachtet wurde und erst 1989 wurde die Virtuoso Entertainment Kategorie in das Programm aufgenommen. Ab 1996 gibt es die Junior Coupe Mondiale Kategorie (bis 18 Jahre), seit 2000 die Junior Virtuoso Entertainment (bis 18 Jahre), seit 2001 die Piano Akkordeon Kategorie, seit 2002 die Chamber Music Kategorie und ab dem Jahre 2009 die Digital Akkordeon Kategorie. Heute ist der Coupe Mondiale ein Groß-Ereignis und Schaufenster zur Durchführung von unterschiedlichster Akkordeon Musik. Akkordeon Weltweit gratuliert dem chinesischen Gastgeber, geleitet vom CAA-Präsident Prof. führte Li Cong (Bild rechts) für diesen großartigen Erfolg von mehr als 170 Teilnehmern. Die 2011 Coupe Mondaile Wettbewerbe versprechen sicherlich eine sehr spannende Veranstaltung zu werden. |

Die Konzert Gästeliste für das 36. Internationale Akkordeon-Festival, vom 20 bis 25 September in Castelfidardo, Ancona bietet im diesen Jahr folgende Künstler: Akkordeonisten Frank Marocco (USA), Pino di Modugno, Veronika Todorova (Bulgarien), Stian Carstensen, Vincente Abbracciante, Daniele di Bonaventura, Miranda Cortes (Frankreich), Andrea Tini, Luca Colantonio, Tommaso Arena, Christian Riganelli, Emiliano Giaccaglia, Danilo Paolonicola ist Ethic Project, die Fisa & Bass Duo, Banda Adriatica, mit diatonischen Akkordeonisten Claudio Prima, Duo Calambre, die Donato Santoianni und Salvatore Cauteruccio Quartet, Marianna Malonni (Gesang) und Mirko Dettori (Akkordeon und Gesang), "Zwei halbe Hunde-Duo, Akkordeonisten Paolo Polverini und Silvano Staffolani und Alessandro und Gabriele Akkordeon-Duo. Das Film Music Ensemble (MD Paolo Picchio) umfasst Akkordeonisten Emanuele Storti, Antonino De Luca, Marco Franconi, Andrea Naspi, Luana Guercio, Michele Re, Valentino Mercorelli, Marco Pascucci, Giacomo Vignoni, Martina Romagnoli und Luigino Pallotta, mit Maurizio Scocco (Bass), Alessandro Polenta (Schlagzeug), Deborah Vico (Saxophon) und Gloria Frontini (Flöte). IV Strumenti & Musica Festival Daily Reports, Spoleto - Italienby Harley Jones |
Daily Reports / Tägliche Berichterstattung des 2011 Strumenti & Musica Festival sind online. Das IV Strumenti & Musica Festival begann am 21. August in Spoleto. Von 10 Uhr bis Mitternacht, waren die drei wichtigsten Zentren und Straßen Mittelpunkt der Veranstaltungen. In jeder Straße und Piazza von Spoleto spieltenMusikgruppen. Zwei Stipendien wurden von der IAC Veranstalter der Strumenti & Musica Festivals (Italienischer Accordion Culture/Vereinigung - italienisches Mitglied der CIA), vergeben: eine an Pietro Adragna (Sieger Senior Variété, Foto oben rechts) und Matteo Petronio (Sieger Junior Variété, Foto oben links). Beide werden beim 2011 Coupe Mondiale als Italiens Vertreter teilnehmen. Ivan Sverko (Kroatien, Bild rechts) gewann die Senioren-Kategorie Classic neben einer starken Konkurrenz von Alexander Kolovski (Mazedonien), Mia Cojbasic (Serbien) und Ghenadie Rotari (Moldawien). Ein Highlight der Strumenti & Musica Festival war das große Tango-Konzert "Hommage an Astor Piazzolla" von der Gruppe Cuarteto del Angel von Cesare Chiacchiaretta (Bandoneon und Akkordeon) mit Paolo Angelucci (Violine), Marco Colacioppo (Klavier) und Nicola Di Camillo Kontrabass). Während des Konzerts wurde Cesare Chiacchiaretta mit dem "Astor Piazzolla" Preis von Strumenti & Musica und Aldo Pagani, italienischer Verleger und Freund des großen Astor Piazzolla, ausgezeichnet. Dies war eine redlich verdiente Anerkennung für die weltweiten Aufführungen von Cesare Chiacchiaretta und dem hohen Niveau seiner Leistungen. Roland V-Akkordeon Nationales Finale in Ontario - Kanadaby Harley Jones |
Das Roland Nationale Final findet im Hansa Haus in Mississauga, Ontario am 8. September 2011 um 19:00 Uhr statt. Auftreten wird jeder Halbfinalist und auch Gastatisten. Ein Abend voll mit Musik und Wettberben zu dem der Eintritt frei ist. Die 3 Halbfinalisten für Kanada sind: - Michael-Brücke aus Toronto, Ontario - Eugene Laskiewicz aus Mississauga, Ontario - Kimberley Pritchard von Brooklin, Ontario Der Jugend-Kategorie Gewinner ist der 17 Jahre alte Yi Fei Zhang (Foto rechts) aus Edmonton, Alberta. Er gewann ein Roland FR-3x V-Accordion und er wird auch beim Roland V-Accordion Festival Nationalem Finale als Gastmusiker auftreten. Sebastian Carubia (Foto links) wird auch auf der Bühne stehen - ist bestrebt das Akkordeon auf eine andere Ebene der Unterhaltungmusik zu bringen. Derzeit ist Sebastian mit Torontos Musiker und Produzent Jerry Caringi beschäftigt, originale Tanzmusik zu produzieren, die im Herbst veröffentlich werden. Ab 9. Viatcheslav Semionov Master Classes - Russia, Italyby Alexander Selivanov |
Famous teacher, performer and composer Viatcheslav Semionov has had a very busy summer with master classes. There was an international summer school in Zheleznogorsk (Kursk region) followed by a trip to Italy in August for master classes in Rome and these master classes were followed by a trip to Calabria for further master classes in the southern part of Italy. Lessons followed in Nocera, Terinese including a meeting with the Deputy Mayor to discuss development of the music school and the prospects of further cooperation. All the master classes were all very well attended and very successful. There is a definite upward trend in Italy with some 31 conservatories now offering accordion and the number of accordionists studying at Italian conservatories steadily increasing. 6 CD,s by Viatcheslav Semionov available online |
Bands Competition Including Accordion, Portadown - Northern Irelandby Harley Jones |
A total of 65 bands visited the town of Portadown, (about 40km from Belfast) on Friday August 26th as Portadown Defenders Flute Band held their annual band parade and competition. Local band Edgarstown Accordion picked up Best Accordion, with Pride of the Birches Accordion coming a close second. Almost 2,000 band enthusiasts took part as Portadown Defenders Flute Band celebrated their 40th anniversary. Bands from right across Ulster and Scotland made the journey which saw Drumderg Loyalists Flute Band, Keady collect the Best Overall Band trophy. The competition was as tight as ever as Drumderg Loyalists picked up three first place prizes in best Junior Drum Major, best Large Blood and Thunder and Best Overall. Kilkeel band Mourne Young Defenders Flute Band scored favourably too as they won best Melody Drum Corp and best Melody band prizes. The night ended as the Defenders’ and their Auld Boys band joined together to parade the town. The band will conclude their anniversary celebrations with a dinner for present and ex-members in October. |

Moszkowski – ‘Spanish Caprice’. Paul Chamberlain graduated with a First Class Honours Degree in Classical Accordion from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in 2011. He has won many regional and national accordion competitions in the UK and has made appearances at accordion events in France, Italy, Finland, Bahrain, and Russia. ‘14 Years Ago’ – Betty Jo Simon takes the MIDI to the Lone Star Stateby Rob Howard |
The Accordions Worldwide news for August 29th 1997 included a report by the still very active Betty Jo Simon, telling of her tour of Texas, entertaining whilst also demonstrating on MIDI accordion – then still a comparative novelty. TEXAS ACCORDION TOUR Contributed by Betty Jo Simon Betty Jo Simon's Texas accordion tour saw her playing to six clubs in Dallas, Ft. Worth, Longview, Austin, San Antonio, & Houston along with German & Czech restaurants in between. The theme of the program was ‘Around the World with the MIDI Accordion’. Betty Jo said, "I played a lot of international tunes along with some classical numbers like ‘Bolero’, ‘Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2’, and ‘Dance of the Comedians’. I also did a demonstration of the MIDI accordion so people could understand where I was getting all those sampled sounds. Everyone was amazed at the full orchestral sound that it emitted”. Betty Jo Simon also did a 30 minute radio interview with John Aeili in Austin. He was also amazed at the MIDI Accordion. The Longview newspaper did a feature on the Accordion club there and put a 10 inch color picture of Betty Jo on the front page of their Lifestyles section. 3 CD's by Betty Jo Simon available online. |

Concert accordionist, Mary Tokarski will be the featured soloist with the Hamden Symphony Orchestra, 3 pm, November 6, 2011 at the Hamden High School Auditorium, 2040 Dixwell Avenue, Hamden, Connecticut with Vesna Mehinovic, Conducting. Mary will perform “Rhapsody for Accordion and Orchestra” by Gary Daverne, O.N.Z.M. from New Zealand. Mary has recorded and performed this magnificent, lyrical music score several times with the composer conducting both the Auckland Symphony and the Moravian Symphony in the Czech Republic. Gary is New Zealand’s most prolific and successful composers who has become a great supporter and composer of music for the accordion. His arrangements and compositions for accordion orchestras and solo accordion are used extensively around the world. On Friday September 9th, 8pm, diatonic folk accordionist and singer John Kirkpatrick is the guest at The Potteries Folk Club, The 45 Club, Lancaster Road, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire ST5 1DS. John Kirkpatrick is widely acknowledged as the British folk scene’s best and busiest button accordionist, constantly in demand at folk clubs and festivals as a performer and workshop leader, and also in the theatre and recording studios as a session musician. He has appeared on more than 60 recordings by other artistes, and has released many CDs of his own, plus a tuition DVD for melodeon. John K plays the 3-row British chromatic button accordion, 1 and 2 row melodeons, and the Anglo concertina. He is also a fine singer and composer. |
