| Klingenthal City in the mountains and ski area once a part of East Germany is close to the Czech boarder. This lovely city has a huge history of accordion. The area was once dominated by the huge Accordion Factory in Klingenthal and evidence of the importance of the accordion in the lives of the people of Klingenthal is obvious wherever you go in the city. |

VI first round was run today. Apolline Grimaldi from France was a Category
VI contestant for soloists playing virtuosic light music (no age limit).
Apolline and her bright green artwork accordion which looked really
nice, is seen here receiving warm applause from the audience.
|
A
Rathaus room was used due to the normal hall being renovated. Room was
very crowded for Category VI which holds a lot of public interest and
has strong audience appeal. Being so close to the performers was nice
and the room had good accoustics. At the table are the judges for this
category.
