  • There is no limit of numbers of candidates from each country.
  • Candidates up to 32 years of age are allowed to enter the competition - year of birth: born 1970 or later. All entries must include a copy of birth certificate of the candidate.

Own Choice Programme
  • OWN CHOICE PROGRAMME ONLY consisting of three (3) or more pieces of different styles, characters and composers. Playingtime: minimum 15 minutes to maximum 20 minutes playing. Failure to observe minimum or maximum playing time will result in a mark penalty by the jury.
Prizes and Awards - International Piano Accordion Competition, 2002
  • All candidates shall receive a Diploma of participation
  • 1st Prize: Concert Tour to New Zealand, Australia and USA.
    (1) Concert tour to New Zealand/Australia to perform as Guest Artist at the 2003 South Pacific Accordion Championships in Auckland, New Zealand and at the 2003 Australian International Accordion Championships in Sydney, Australia. (2) Concert Tour to the USA to appear at the American Accordionists' Association (AAA) Festival in 2003.
    2nd: $500.00, 3rd: $250.00

  • National member associations are requested to offer concerts or a tour for the 1st Prize Winners.
  • All winners must be present in person at the awards ceremony. In case of absence, the prize may be accepted by a delegate of their country. Diplomas will be mailed by the Secretariat.
