Congreso de invierno de la CIA en Skopje - Macedonia
La Confederacion Internacional de Acordeonistas (CIA) celebro su 119ª Asamblea general de delegados (Congreso de invierno) en Skopje, Macedonia, organizada por la Asociación de Acordeonistas de la republica de Macedonia.

Ademas de la propia asamblea general, la presidenta de la asociacion Zorica Karakutovska, la vicepresidenta Elizabeta Ilievska, la relaciones publicas Anica Karakutovska y la secretaria Biljana Mladenovska organizaron un amplio programa de actos incluyendo una recepcion del alcalde de Skopje, Trifun Kostovski, visitas y encuentros en la escuela y en la universidad, un concierto a cargo de los alumnos del profesor Karakutovska asi como una velada de marcado contenido y colorido Macedonio.
Diecinueve delegados de todo el mundo viajaron a Skopje a este acto de la CIA que por primera vez se organizaba en Macedonia. Durante el congreso, dos nuevas asociaciones fueron aceptadas como nuevos miembros: “Associação dos Acordeonistas do Brasil” (AAB) - Presidente: Lauro Valerio, y la “Italian Accordion Cultura” (IAC) - President: Federica Celesti.
Se acordo que el “ CIA
Merit Award” (Premio al merito de la CIA), en reconocimiento por su contribucion internacional acordeonistica sea otorgado al concertista y pedagogo Friedrich
Lips (Rusia) y a Manfred Gäbler (Alemania) organizador del Concurso internacional de acordeon de Klingenthal
International Accordion Competition desde hace mas de 40 años. El premio “Amigo honorifico del acordeon” (Honored
Friend of the Accordion Award) sera para Friedl Preisl y Herwig Peychär (Austria), Silvio
De Pra (Nueva Zelanda) y Sylvia Prior (USA), como reconocimiento al trabajo que han desarrollado por el acordeon en sus respectivos paises.

Calendario sobre el Musette en Montpellier - Francia
Los artistas Robert Crumb y Dominique Cravic han realizado un calendario para 2008 con 12 retratos de 12 acordeonistas del genero Musette de los años 30 incluyendo a gente como Gus Viseur, Médard Ferero,Tony Murena y Jo Privat. Cada cuadro esta firmado, tiene unas dimensiones de 33cms x 33cms y estan realizados en seis colores.
El evento se desarrollara una semana despues de el Concurso de acordeon del Pacifico Sur (New
Zealand South Pacific Accordion Championships ) que se desarrollara en Nueva Zelanda con los mismos requisitos y bases. El concurso internacional de acordeon de Australia (Australian
International Accordion Championships) incluye distintas competiciones y en el mismo no habra obras obligadas a interpretar. Las distintas categorías estan abiertas a interpretes de cualquier pais y de cualquier tipo de instrumento (Piano, Bayan, diatónico, etc). Las ediciones anteriores han captado el interes de interpretes de Nueva Zelanda, China, Croacia, Rusia o Australia.
Igualmente se organizaran varias Master Classes durante estas jornadas que daran la posibilidad de ampliar campo y conocimientos a cargo de reconocidos acordeonistas y pedagogos.
Tradicionalemte el momento mas importante se da en la Gala Concierto que este año se celebrara el 8 de Junio. Los participantes de esta gala seran el actual vencedor de la Copa Mundial en categoría de Piano,Stanislav Jusufovic (Serbia), Lionel Reekie (NZ) y Grayson
Masefield (NZ) 3º en la categoría de piano de la Copa Mundial. Tambien participaran 2 orquestas de acordeon de Sydney: Australian Concert Ensemble (Australia) and “FunAccord”.
Se ha editado un nuevo DVD con las actuaciones de varios grupos en el Festival de acordeon & violin de Shetland, celbrado el pasado 13 de Octubre de 2007 en Lerwick. Entre estos grupos podemos encontrar a Cullivoe Dance Band, Gordon Shand Scottish Dance Band, Alan Nicolson Dance Band, Sandy Nixon Scottish Dance Band, Jimmy Burgess Dance Band, Roy Hendrie Scottish Dance Band, Da Fustra Dance Band, Susan McFadyen Scottish Dance Band, James Leask Dance Band, Pentlands Ceilidh Band, Leeshinat, Sandy Legget y la Carseloch Ceilidh Band. Los presentadores del evento fueron Nicol McLaren y Robert Lovie, y la duraci´´on del mismo es de 115 minutes.

Boucheix. Félicien

J.MORNET, thanks to an uncle, while he was only seven years old
and is a "pure product" of the successful training available.
Since 2001 Félicien Brut has been winning competitions.
His next ambition is to acquire the DEM (Certificate of Studies Musical)
and to teach in Conservatories. Félicien Brut has now founded
a trio with Pascal Meurgé - keyboard and vocals, and Amélie
Castel - drums and vocals. They will make their public debut on Saturday,
January 19th, 9.30pm, in the Casino of Bourboule (free entrance).
On
Thursday, January 17th, Jeff
Lisenby's jazz accordion concert at the University of Missouri
at Kansas City Performing Arts Center with his talented daughter Jaclyn
Brown, as guest vocalist. This was a wonderful concert, featuring
an outstanding accordionist and a superb vocalist and also promoting
the newly released CD "A
Spy In Tortuga".
Doug Auwarter -drums, Danny Embry - guitar, and Greg Whitfield - bass
accompanied accordionist Jeff Lisenby for a concert no one wanted

Accordionist and Festival Director has written a jazz orientated musical
play titled 'Opera?', which will be performed at the Teatro Polifunzionale,
Pineto, on January 26th, at 9.30pm. The accompanying orchestra includes Renzo Ruggieri on accordion
and melodica. Entrance is free.

AAMS Festival, Pennsylvania - USA

The annual festival and competition sponsored by the American Accordion
Musicological Society (AAMS) takes place from March 7th to 9th, and
once again held at the Dolce Valley Forge Hotel, King of Prussia,
Pennslyvania.
The
program of guest performers this year includes Mario Tacca (left),
Mary Mancini, Stanley and Joanna
Darrow (right) Richard DiBlassio, Ron Onda, Ed Touchstone, Bobby
Raye (picture below) Jim Vandelly, and Lenny Feldmann, known as
'The CordeenMan'.
The festivities begin with a Cajun/Zydeco concert on the opening night.
Saturday will feature the competitions and a range of accordion workshops.
The
Annual Dinner takes place at 5.30pm on Saturday evening where this
year's Honoree, Rik Kaplan, will be recognized. An Accordion Spectacular
Concert, featuring guest artistes Mario Tacca and Mary Mancini, and
supporting acts, will follow the dinner.
On Sunday, the morning will continue with more competitions and more
workshops. After lunch will be the Awards Concert featuring the Festival
Massed Band, guest artistes, and the presentation of awards and trophies.
The festival also includes a trade display, accordion repair seminars,
accordion memorabilia, recordings and sheet music.
The
Australian folk band Wongawilli are to visit Denmark, performing at
the Tuno Festival, July 2nd and 3rd, and at the Skagen Festival, July
4th to 6th. From July 8th to 15th, they are available for functions
anywhere in Europe.
Wongawilli plays traditional and contemporary Australian folk songs,
dances and music. They play a range of instruments featuring accordion,
concertina, piano, violin, guitar, lagerphone, banjo, whistle and
mandolin.
