Il 32° Festival Internazionale della Fisarmonica di Castelfidardo si sta svolgendo in questa settimana, da Lunedì a Domenica. Quest’anno il festival ha una nuova immagine, un nuovo logo e una nuova grafica. Castelfidardo Full Detailed Results - Photograph Report
L’obiettivo è di richiamare a Castelfidardo il maggior numero di persone possible, e per questa ragione la parola chiave utilizzata è “incontro”: tra i diversi marchi di strumenti, tra i diversi artisti ed insegnanti internazionali, tra la città e gli ospiti, dichiara Francesca Santini di Ideazione Eventi.

Il giorno 28 Settembre la semifinale olandese si è svolta nella sede della Roland Central Europe in Belgio, per i concorrenti olandesi e fiamminghi.
Il vincitore della seminfinale olandese è Pieter Bosma (30 anni, di Coevoorden, Olanda) e ha suonato una sua artistica versione di ‘Kwartet Musette’, di Allan Mussini, sulla sua FR-7b.
Il giorno 20 Ottobre, i tre finalisti saranno presenti, insieme a 3 finalisti francesi, nella grande finale Roland Central Europe.
Da questi sei concorrenti un candidato sarà selezionato per
la finale internazionale in Italia.
La semifinale francese si è svolta a La Bourboule nel Casinò Nice.
La Bourboule è una città a 500 Km a Sud-Ovest di Parigi, vicino a
Clermont Ferrand. Dieci musicisti erano stati selezionati per partecipare, cinque dei quali provenienti dalla famosa scuola internazionale di fisarmonica CNIMA. Questa competizione era aperta anche a concorrenti provenienti dalle zone di lingua francese di Belgio e Lussemburgo.
La giuria era composta da Ludovic Beier (fisarmonicista, dimostratore V-Accordion), Daniel Deruytere (Roland Central Europe) e Philippe Krumm (direttore della rivista ‘Accordeons & Accordeonistes’).
Il vincitore, Felicien Brut, e la terza classificata, Amelie Castel, provengono dal CNIMA, e anche il secondo classificato, Bereswind Olland, ha partecipato a diversi corsi al CNIMA.
UNAC (Unión de Acordeonistas), San Sebastián – Spagna
UNAC – l’Unione dei Fisarmonicisti di Spagna arriva al primo anniversario dalla sua fondazione. L’UNAC è stata fondata con l’obiettivo di raggruppare in una unica associazione tutti i professionisti spagnoli, solisti, gruppi, compositori, insegnanti ecc. insieme a tutti gli amatori ed entusiasti, appassionati e devoti alla fisarmonica.
UNAC attualmente supporta e promuove importanti eventi organizzati da differenti associazioni e gruppi: il 20° Anniversario dell’Orchestra Zero-Sette, la 50a Edizione del Certámen Nacional de Acordeón, il 15° Festival Internazionale di Cantabrian, il Seminario Internazionale del Jazz di Zarautz,
la Settimana della Fisarmonica di Valladolid ecc, in aggiunta ad una grande varietà di Seminari e Master-classes dirette da Max Bonnay, Luciano Biondini, Frederic Deschamps, Ignacio Alfayé e Jean-Louis Noton.
UNAC intende anche seguire con molta attenzione il crescente numero di CD registrati dai suoi membri. UNAC è Corresponding Member della CIA (Confederation Internationale des Accordionists), e fa base a Donostia, San Sebastián.
‘Mull Reflections’ è il titolo di un nuovo CD del fisarmonicista Deirdre Adamson, con composizioni di Calum MacLean, uno dei più grandi musicisti scozzesi. Le 20 tracce includono brani internazionali come ‘Echi di Lucerna’ (valzer), ‘San Antonio’ (paso double), ‘Veronique’ (valzer musette), ‘Springtime In Switzerland’ (valzer), Memories of Bad-Godesberg’ (polka), oltre a numerose composizioni in stile scozzese, come ‘Sunset On Sunart’, ‘Fergie MacDonald's Jig’, ‘The Hills of Mull’, ‘The Man from North Connel’, e ‘Jim McAlister's Jig’.
Calum MacLean è stato Campione Europeo di Fisarmonica nel 1970, e da allora è diventato molto conosciuto per la sua capacità di comporre musiche per fisarmonica dei generi più vari. La maggior parte delle composizioni di Calum MacLean sono state pubblicate.
The NE Accordion Festival, presented in association with the Walker Art Center and sponsored by KFAI FM Radio, takes place the Cedar Cultural Center from November 9th to 11th.
Performers include Dan Turpening, Finn Hall, Joanna Darrow, Dan Newton, Larry Malmberg & Mike Alongi, Mark Stillman, Datta, Dee Langley, Orkestar Bez Ime, Jerry Minar, Hank Thunander, Frode Haltli (Norway), and John Scaffeo, Canada. The festival includes concerts, workshops, ‘Jazz Symposium’, Massed Accordion Band rehearsal and performance (MD Wendy Tangen-Foster).
This festival began ten years ago and has three times upgraded to larger venues to accommodate increasing visitor numbers. The accordion is alive and well (and blossoming) in Minneapolis/ St Paul!
The opening evening concert, on Friday September 28th, featured a full performance by the Elsene Accordion Orchestra, from the Netherlands.
The 2007 Lasarte-Oria Accordion Festival main evening concert took place on Saturday September 29th at the Casa de Cultura, Lasarte-Oria, in the Basque region of Northern Spain. A sell out audience enjoyed performances by Enrike Zelaia (Spain - right), Nathalie Boucheix (France - left), the Elsene Accordion Orchestra, and the Zero Sette Akordeoi Orkestra (Spain). Amaia González and José Mari Orbegozo, Tango Europe Champions 2007, gave a spectacular performance of tangos, to the accompaniment of the Zero Sette Akordeoi Orkestra.
Next year’s Lasarte-Oria Accordion Festival takes place from September 26th to 28th 2008, and invitations are extended to accordion orchestras from any part of the world to visit and participate.
Roland
Europe S.p.A (Acquaviva Picena, Italy), a manufacturing subsidiary
of the international electronic musical instrument producer Roland
Corporation (Japan), organized an international meeting in Castelfidardo,
Italy on October 2nd and 3rd. The two-day meeting was dedicated to
Roland's
V-Accordion and V Accordion Specialists.
V-Accordion sales staff were invited from Roland's sales subsidiaries and joint-venture companies all over the world including; USA, Canada, Brazil, UK, Germany, Denmark, Finland, Belgium, France, Portugal, Hungary, Poland, and Italy. This international meeting was organized with the support of Castelfidardo City Hall, and the meeting itself took place at the Conference Room in the Castelfidardo City Hall. Photographs
This meeting was titled ‘V-Accordion Camp’, and various topics such as the introduction of the brand-new V-Accordion models FR-2 / FR-2b (the first shipment was just made in September), V-Accordion R&D history and technology, V-Accordion Promotional Strategy, V-Accordion Festival up-to-date... were all discussed.
Furthermore, in order to develop their knowledge of accordion development and history in general, they visited the Castelfidardo Accordion Museum. There, they received a warm welcome by Mr. Beniamino Bugiolacchi, the director of Museum. Many of the participants saw for the first time, not only the historical accordions but also the fact that the Roland's first V-Accordion model FR-7 is exhibited at the Museum. Photographs
Balkan Dance Party, Minneapolis – USA

The Orkestar Bez Ime, featuring accordionist Dee Langley, play for the Balkan Dance Party at at the Cedar Cultural Center, 416 Cedar Ave South, Minneapolis, Minnesota on October 13th, at 8pm. The event also marks the release of OBI’s new CD ‘Nice Driveway, Volume Three: Rogarian Baba-que’.
Shetland's 20th Accordion & Fiddle Festival takes place from October 11th to 15th. The guest artistes include button accordionist Bill Black (now back playing after losing the index finger of his right hand in a freak accident last year) with pianist Mabel Gray, the trio Cuckoo’s Nest (Ireland), David Vernon, Deoch n’ Dorus, Gordon Shand Scottish Dance Band, James Corbett, Jim Gold Trio, Liz Doherty and Jim Woods, Martin Tourish (Ireland), Ottar Johansen (Norway), Pentlands Ceilidh Band, Quarter Deck, Roy Hendrie, Sandy Legget, Sandy Nixon, Sean Og Graham and Aidan O’Donnell (Ireland), and the Susan MacFadyen Scottish Dance Band.

On October 21st, 4pm, Jim Vandelly and Joan Grauman will present a workshop on diatonic accordions at the Washington Metropolitan Accordion Society, held at Sleepy Hollow United Methodist Church, 3435 Sleepy Hollow Road, Falls Church, Virginia.
In honor of the season, Joan will also play some Oktoberfest tunes. In addition, Jim will show some videos of Russian musicians. Afterwards, rehearsals will take place for the December 16th holiday concert.
Veteran accordionist Andre Verchuren is in concert at the Salle de Marinieres, Porcieu Amblagnieu on October 21st, at 11.30am. Born in 1920, Verchuren’s career spans the generations from the 1930s, through the post-war years right up to the present time.
