"All the big cities of the world have their accordionists association
so that accordion enthusiasts fraternize, meet and share their common
passion."
It's in those terms that
Gervasio Marcosignori suggested
Enrico Ricciuti and Romolo Bitocchi they formed an accordionists
association in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
|
That's how in 1994 A.D.A.M.,
l'Association Des Accordéonistes de Montréal
(the Montreal Accordionists Association) was born with the following council founders:
Umberto Tamborriello chairmen, Enrico Ricciuti† deputy chairmen, Romolo
Bitocchi secretary, Peter De Luca treasurer and the
councilors Chantal Cyr, Ercole De Cubellis, Gerry Virone, Dominic
Fargnoli, Mirella Costenaro Di Buono.
By common
agreement, Gervasio Marcosignori was
named honorary president. |
Since 1994, the steady increase in membership confirms the rise of
interest the accordion is driving.
|
En 2006, the name was changed to A.D.A.Q.
In 2012, ADAQ honored Ercole De Cubellis,
Nick Pensato, Umberto Tamborriello, Luciano Testani et Paolo Vani,
at a gala.
