Unter Patronanz des russischen Kulturministeriums, der russischen Gnesin-Musikakademie sowie des Friedrich Lips-Fonds fand in der Zeit vom 13.-17. Dezember 2017 bereits zum 29. Mal das traditionelle Internationale Festival „Bajan und Bajanisten“ im Konzertsaal der russischen Gnessin-Musikakademie in Moskau statt. Auch heuer wurde wieder ein breites musikalisches Spektrum geboten: von Klassik bis Jazz, von Popularmusik bis zur Avant-garde.

Under patronage of the Russian Ministery of Culture, the Russian Gnesin Academy of Music and the Friedrich Lips Fund the traditional XXIX International Festival “Bayan and bayanists” took place in the concert hall of the Russian Gnessin Academy of Music in Moscow from December 13 to 17, 2017. This year again a broad musical spectrum was offered: from classical to jazz, from popular music to avant-garde.

Das Eröffnungskonzert wurde von Valentina Bobischewa mit ihrem Akkordeonorchester „Vivat, Akkordeon!“ eingeleitet, die Werke von G. Swiridow, A. Schnittke, B. Kovatsch und F. Mendelssohn zur Aufführung brachte. Danach brillierten Laureaten russischer sowie internationaler Wettbewerbe im heurigen Jahr: M. Bogolepow, das Bajan-Duet „Enthusiasmus“ sowie das Ensemble „Russische Renaissance“, das vor allem mit dem „New York Tango“ von R. Galliano begeisterte. Der zweite Teil des Konzerts stand im Zeichen von A. Salachow, der nicht nur die wichtigsten internationalen Wettbewerbe in den klassischen Kategorien gewonnen hat, sondern auch in der Unterhaltungsmusik triumphierte. Diese Vielfalt kommt ihm natürlich jetzt zugute, wenn es gilt, sein Publikum zu Begeisterungsstürmen hinzureißen. Schließlich wird er auf seinen musikalischen Reisen vom Jazz zur Klassik, vom Tango zum Walzer, etc. auch noch von seinem Ensemble „Elegato“ (M. Talanow, Violine; D. Tarbejew, Kontrabass) hervorragend unterstützt.

The opening concert was initiated by Valentina Bobishewa with her accordion orchestra "Vivat, Accordion!", which performed works by G. Sviridov, A. Schnittke, B. Kovatch and F. Mendelssohn. After that laureates of Russian and international competitions of this year showed their mastership: M. Bogolepov, the Bayan duet "Enthusiasm" and the ensemble "Russian Renaissance", which especially inspired with the "New York Tango" by R. Galliano. The second part of the concert was dedicated to A. Salakhov, who not only won the most important international competitions in classical categories, but also triumphed in popular music. Of course, this diversity benefits him now, when it comes to sweeping his audience to storms of enthusiasm. Finally, on his musical journeys from jazz to classical music, from tango to waltz, etc., he is also excellently supported by his ensemble "Elegato" (M. Talanov, violin, D. Tarbeyev, double bass).

Traditionellerweise ist ein Konzert des Festivals den Bajanisten bestimmter Regionen Russlands gewidmet. Dieses Mal waren Akkordeonisten/Bajanisten der Glasunow-Musikakademie in Petrosawodsk (N. Istomin, A. Dedjurin) sowie des Rimskij-Korsakow-Konservatoriums in St. Petersburg ausgewählt, um ihre ausgezeichnete Musikalität und hervorragende Technik im Rahmen von Solo- und Duodarbietungen zu zeigen. Insbesondere A. Adrschin, A. Schkworow und V. Stupnikow waren heuer international solistisch und mit ihrem Trio „Charme“ (Repertoire von W.A. Mozart, P. Makkonen und A. Schalajew) sehr erfolgreich.

Traditionally, a concert of the festival is dedicated to the performers of certain regions of Russia. This time, accordionists / bayanists from the Glazunov Academy of Music in Petrozavodsk (N. Istomin, A. Dedyurin) and the Rimsky Korsakov Conservatory in St. Petersburg were selected to show their excellent musicality and outstanding technique in solo and duo performances. In particular, A. Adrshin, A. Shkvorov and V. Stupnikov were very successful as soloists as well as with their trio "Charme" (repertoire of W.A. Mozart, P. Makkonen and A. Shalayev) at international competitions.

Das dritte Konzert war unbestritten der Höhepunkt des diesjährigen Festivals. N. Wlassows Vortragskunst ließ keine Wünsche offen! Jedem einzelnen Werk verlieh er seine persönliche Note und der interessierte Zuhörer konnte dadurch viele neue Facetten eigentlich bekannter und längst klassischer Werke erkennen. Durch seinen musikalischen Werdegang wie zum Beispiel Auftritte mit den weltbekannten „Moskauer Virtuosen“ unter V. Spiwakow in den größten Konzerthäusern dieser Welt wie der Carnegie Hall in New York u.a. hat er es in bereits relativ jungen Jahren zu einer erstaunlichen musikalischen Reife gebracht, die der Interpretation jedes einzelnen Werks unabhängig von der jeweiligen Stilrichtung ihren ganz persönlichen touch verlieh. Einfach ein Erlebnis für alle Anwesenden! V. Pligovka aus Minsk (Weißrussland) präsentierte sein Programm von u.a. Bach, Paganini, Tschaikowsky bis hin zu Semjonow makellos und setzte seine eigenen Blitzlichter. Er erfüllte damit zweifellos die Erwartungen des Publikums, ohne es jedoch damit überraschen zu können.

The third concert was undoubtedly the highlight of this year's festival. N. Vlasov's performance left nothing to be desired! He gave each individual work his personal touch and the interested listener was able to recognize many new facets of actually well-known and long-established works. Through his musical career such as performances with the world-famous "Moscow virtuosos" under V. Spivakov in the largest concert halls in the world such as Carnegie Hall in New York and others, at a relatively young age, he brought it to an astonishing musical maturity that gave the interpretation of each work its own personal touch, regardless of the style. Simply an experience for all present! Vladislav Pligovka from Minsk (Belarus) presented his program of J.S. Bach, Paganini, Tchaikovsky to Semionov immaculate and set his own flashlights. He undoubtedly met the expectations of the audience, but without being able to surprise it.

D. Chodanovitsch’s Schaffen konzentriert sich im Wesentlichen auf Transkriptionen russischer Musik von Glinka, Rachmaninoff, Tschaikowsky sowie westlicher Musik eines Rossini, Gounod, Wagner oder Liszt. Als Originalmusik brachte er Werke seines Lehrers Vl. Bonakov zu Gehör, wobei Bonakov bei der „Konzert-Rhapsodie“ den Orchesterpart auf dem Klavier spielte.

D. Khodanovich's work focused mainly on transcriptions of Russian music by Glinka, Rachmaninoff, Tchaikovsky and western music by Rossini, Gounod, Wagner or Liszt. As original music he brought works of his teacher Vl. Bonakov to be heard, Bonakov played in the "Concert Rhapsody" the orchestral part on the piano.

Die Darbietungen des „Ensembles russischer Harmonikaspieler“ der Musikakademie Gnesin waren sehr vielfältig. Neben den selbstverständlichen Volksweisen verschiedener Regionen Russlands wurden unter der Leitung von P. Uchanow auch Originalwerke von E. Derbenko sowie westliche Musik gespielt: von populärer Klassik bis zu Jazz und zeitgenössischen Kompositionen (Vivaldi, Galliano, Piazzolla, etc.). Sehr publikumswirksam waren auch der Auftritt des Trios kaukasischer Harmonikas sowie des jugendlichen Duos Michail und Alina Chlebnow, das bereits in sehr professioneller Weise sein Publikum begeisterte. Abschluss und Höhepunkt des finalen Konzerts war der Auftritt des österreichischen Ensembles DOBREK BISTRO: Aleksey Biz (Violine), Krzysztof Dobrek (Akkordeon), Sascha Lackner (Kontrabass) und Luis Oliveira (Percussion). Die Bezeichnung des französischen Lokals kommt vom russischen „bystro“ (schnell). Das Quartett bezieht sich mit seinem Namen also sowohl auf die virtuose Rasanz seiner Darbietungen als auch auf die melancholische Eleganz, die Dobrek, der für alle Kompositionen verantwortlich zeichnet, beim Pariser Musette-Walzer so liebt. Musette, lateinamerikanische Formen wie Salsa, Tango und Bossa Nova, Jazz, Gypsy Swing, klassische Einflüsse, die Musik des Balkans und Orients, der Roma und Juden Osteuropas sowie slawische Volksmusik sind die Zutaten dieser Stilmelange, deren verschiedene Facetten lustvoll ausgelotet werden.

The performances of the "Ensemble of Russian harmonica players" of the Music Academy Gnesin were very varied. In addition to the common folk songs of various regions of Russia under the direction of P. Ukhanov, original works of E. Derbenko and Western music were played: from popular classical music to jazz and contemporary compositions (Vivaldi, Galliano, Piazzolla, etc.). The appearance of the trio of Caucasian harmonicas as well as the young duo Mikhail and Alina Khlebnov, who already thrilled audiences in a very professional way, was also very popular. The culmination of the final concert was the appearance of the Austrian ensemble DOBREK BISTRO: Aleksey Biz (violin), Krzysztof Dobrek (accordion), Sasha Lackner (double bass) and Luis Oliveira (percussion). The name of the French restaurant comes from the Russian "bystro" (fast). The quartet's name therefore refers both to the virtuoso pace of his performances and to the melancholy elegance that Dobrek, who is responsible for all compositions, loves so much with the Parisian musette waltz. Musette, Latin American forms such as salsa, tango and bossa nova, jazz, gypsy swing, classical influences, the music of the Balkans and the Orient, the Roma and Jews of Eastern Europe as well as Slavic folk music are the ingredients of this style melange, whose various facets are joyfully explored.

Entsprechend der Tradition (seit 1993) wurde an Galina Berdnikova, Galina Krylova, Natalia Junkind, Aleksandr Katurkin sowie Krzysztof Dobrek die „SILVER DISK“ für besondere Verdienste um die Bajankunst vergeben. Während des Festivals fanden im Foyer des Konzertsaals der russischen Gnessin-Musikakdemie Ausstellungen von Noten und Tonträgern sowie Vorführungen von Musikinstrumenten statt. Der interregionale Verband der Bajanisten und Akkordeonisten MABA nützte die Anwesenheit vieler seiner Mitglieder zur alljährlichen Generalversammlung. Im Anschluss wurde ein Dokumentarfilm über die Meisterklasse von Sofia Gubaidulina und Friedrich Lips an der Royal Academy in Kopenhagen im Jahre 2014 gezeigt. Michail Burlakov berichtete über neue akustische Entwicklungen beim Instrumentenbau.

According to tradition (since 1993), Galina Berdnikova, Galina Krylova, Natalia Junkind, Aleksandr Katurkin and Krzysztof Dobrek have been awarded the "SILVER DISK" for their outstanding achievements in bayan art. During the festival, in the foyer of the concert hall of the Russian Gnesin Music Academy, there were exhibitions of sheet music and recordings, as well as musical instruments. The inter-regional Association of Bayanists and Accordionists MABA used the presence of many of its members for the annual General Assembly. Subsequently, a documentary about the masterclass of Sofia Gubaidulina and Friedrich Lips at the Royal Academy in Copenhagen was shown in 2014. Mikhail Burlakov reported on new acoustic developments in instrument making.
