Housed at the Dargaville Museum (New Zealand) is the historical accordion display titled 'Accordion Gems - A Master Collection of Accordions Through Time'. Full history of how this display has developed is online at 'Accordion Gems'.

Kevin Friedrich returns to New Zealand annually to make this fundraising concert for the Dargaville museum where there is a permanent historical accordion display titled 'Accordion Gems - A Master Collection of Accordions Through Time'.

This year included the opening of an exhibition to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the New Zealand Accordion Association (NZAA).

Presentation to Kevin Friedrich by the New Zealand Accordion Association (NZAA) President Sonja Palinich of the NZAA Lifetime Achievement Award
in celebration of all that Kevin Friedrich has done for the accordion in New Zealand.
This was the first time Kevin has been back in NZ since his 50th birthday so there was a birthday cake,
with Lionel Reekie playing and singing Happy Birthday to Kevin with the audience giving a standing ovation to Kevin.

These two professional dancers put on a terrific dancing
demonstration accompanied by Lionel.

Kevin, Nolene Osbaldiston (piano), Pipa Howes (flute),
played a moving musical tribute those who passed away over the last year. The performance also included a video production with pictures of those being remembered.
Lionel accompanied by Kevin singing a commical bracket of Bird releated songs, which included this Tennessee Bird Walk, along with actions.
At the end of the concert the performers were called forward to be thanked.

Dargaville Museum (New Zealand) historical accordion display 'From Wakefield to Masefield' exhibition. This display will be published in digital format at the conclusion of its run in November. An announcement will be made when it is available online.
