About The Central Texas Accordion Association

The Central Texas Accordion Association (CTAA) Austin, was started in 1992 by a group of accordion enthusiasts in order to promote the enjoyment and public awareness of the accordion and accordion music. Currently there are approximately 50 members.

Meeting Information

Meetings: Third Wednesdays of January, February, April, May, September, October and November. Location: South room, Senior Activity Center, 2874 Shoal Crest (at Lamar and 29th St), Austin, Texas. Time: 7:00 PM - Entertainment at meetings is provided by members or players from the area. Special Events: For several years in June, we have presented a "Free For All" variety program for the City of Austin, our family, and our friends, who enjoy the accordion. The Parks and Recreation Department furnish their Social Hall for the event and it is very well attended. We have also sponsored several concerts at the Scottish Rite Hall, selling tickets for these. The International Trio, Peter Soave, Chuck Berger, Robert Atwood, The Semionov's and others have been to Austin and were well-received.

Membership Information

Membership in the CTAA is $10.00 per year. Each member receives a copy of a Newsletter, which is mailed. This entitles them to vote on the Officers, and to participate in the CTAA activities. Attendance at regular meetings will introduce you to a wide variety of accordion styles and talent. You will be invited to play or to jam as often as you desire.
