Have Yourself a MARY Merry Christmas |
Just in time for the 2013 Christmas season, Mary Tokarski has recorded some childhood “favorites” of hers along with some pieces more representative of the season. The attractive and
very bright red color of the CD jacket design immediately catches our eyes as much as the music
she has selected catches our ears.
Mary always plays with an impeccable precision, whether the repertoire is demandingly difficult
or written especially for those players still perfecting their accordion techniques. All repertoire
heard on this special Christmas CD is played extremely well, with great attention to every detail.
She could well use the recording for examples in one of her numerous Master Classes and
Workshops she so frequently presents throughout the accordion world. Several of the pieces
were composed especially for the accordion while others are arranged by Mary; all are
interesting and very melodic. You will recognize most of them immediately as favorites of
yours, too. The others will become new favorites.
The repertoire will be enjoyed by listeners young and old. Just put the CD on and go about
whatever it is you’re doing to prepare for the Christmas season. As the title suggests, Mary
Tokarski wants all of us to have a “MARY Merry Christmas!” Indeed, you will find there are
several pieces included which you will wish to hear throughout the year, regardless of the
season.
