  The St Audries Bay Accordion Week will be held from July 13th to 20th at St Audries Bay Holiday Club, West Quantoxhead, Nr Minehead, Somerset TA4 4DY.The festival was started several years ago and is supported by accordionists from all around the UK who meet up and join in with several different Musical Directors of orchestras. Attendees are guided through a week of ensemble playing with the option to join whichever graded orchestra or group they feel comfortable with. Orchestra workshops include Higher Intermediate section by Rene Mairis, Vintage Accordion Orchestra by Jean Hanger (picture left), Intermediate Orchestra by Sammie Peckover, Elementary Orchestra by Brenda Webster , the Scottish Workshop by Angie Lukins (picture right) and a small advanced group will be tutored by Lisa Lee Fisher. Nigel Pasby compères the evening accordion entertainment where participants can play their party pieces. These evenings finish with a performance by the orchestra directors or special guest. A French Circle evening will be held on Monday July 15th and a Ceilidh on Wednesday July 17th, with a final grand concert on Friday 19th July. For further information email: info@staudriesbay.co.uk |
