XVème Festival International "Vivat, Bayan!" à Samara - Russieby Alexander Selivanov |

 Le 15ème festival international "Vivat, Bayan!" courait du 12 au 14 mai à Samara.Plus de 100 participants de nombreuses régions de Russie et d'autres pays, tels que Biélorussie, Ukraine, Kazakhstan et Chine étaient présents parmi lesquels quelques 60 solistes et 15 ensembles musicaux. Trois jours de compétitions se sont déroulés dans la salle de concert du Bristol-Zhiguli Hotel, dans les catégories classique, variété, enfant, junior, senior, solo et ensemble. Photo de gauche : deux vainqueurs des concours. Le jury prestigieux était présidé par Alexander Selivanov, Professeur à la Gnessin académie de Moscou et vice-président du comité musical de la CIA. Le jury comprenait aussi une personnalité italienne, Mirco Patarini, président du comité musical de la CIA et directeur artistique de l'"Italian Accordion Culture (IAC)" qui est le membre de la CIA qui accueillera la Coupe Mondiale 2017 à Osimo, Italie. Vivat, Bayan! Proposait également des expos d'accordéon de Scandalli, Tula et Akko offrant aux étudiants et professeurs l'opportunité d'essayer les nouveaux modèles de ces fabricants. Le dernier jour du festival incluait un concert des vainqueurs et un concert de soirée du très populaire Sergey Voitenko et son "Bayan Mix" (photos ci-dessus et dessous) dans le Samara Philharmonic Hall comble, où Sergey a joué ses nouvelles compositions avec orchestre de chambre et groupe de jazz. Directeur artistique du "Vivat, Bayan!" Sergey Voitenko déclarait : "Cette édition du 15ème anniversaire proposait plusieurs nouvelles idées comme un festival devenant plus international, les réglement des concours modifiés selon les normes des concours internationaux et les catégories Junior divisées en deux catégories donnant plus de choix aux participants et au jury. Pour la première fois, "Vivat, Bayan!" a reçu le soutien de l'Union Russe de la Jeunesse " ce qui aide le festival à devenir plus prestigieux et pour de nombreux jeunes talents, à demarrer leur carrière. “ |

 La très active organisation Fondazione Val Tidone Musica, Directeur artistique Livio Bollani (photo de gauche), organisait quatre ateliers avec Antonio Spaccarotella et un concert des étudiants de Stradella le dimanche matin. Dans le beau théâtre de la Stradella, ceci célébrait l'inauguration du département accordéon - Accademia del Ridotto, prof d'accordéon Livio Bollani.  Photo ci dessus : le groupe jouePhoto de gauche : Notre éditeur Rob Howard et sa femme Margery s'amusent à jouer sur le plus grand accordéon du monde. Cette année un groupe d'accordéonistes a visité Castelfidardo, Italie, du 16 au 20 mai, visite organisée avec expertise par Peter Le Geyt, vivant à Londres. Un énorme moment de culture et de distraction pour les 40 passionnés britanniques, américains et canadiens. Tout était prévu dans le moindre détail, permettant aux membre du groupe de profiter à plein de ces vacances-accordéon annuelles. Le groupe prit un vol Londres-Bologne puis un bus jusqu'à sa base, l'Hôtel Parco de Castelfidardo. Le séjour commençait par une visite du musée de l'accordéon, suivie d'un dîner à l'hôtel, avec prestations musicales par des membres du groupe sur des accordéons de location. Les jours suivants comprenaient les visites des usines Beltuna, Pigini, Scandalli, Bugari et Zero Sette afin que chacun voie de ses yeux toutes les étapes de la fabrication d'un accordéon. A côté cette découverte de toutes les compétences nécessaires à la fabrication d'un accordéon, chacun put apprécier la complexité et la valeur ajoutée d'un instrument. Visite également du showroom Victoria où fut pris nombre de photos avec les deux accordéons géants, de la fabrique de soufflets Galassi et de celle d'anches Binci, et du showroom rénové et agrandi des pièces détachées Carini, ou furent faits de nombreux achats. Chaque soirée se passa avec convivialité dans un restaurant différent et les acccordéons loués suivaient, joués par des groupes incluant Sue Coppard, Newby Park, Brenda Webster, John Plumb, Peter Le Geyt, Alex Govier, Carlo Pesticcio, Tony Tucker, Rob Howard, et tout particulièrement Bonnie Birch. Mario Campanale, accordeur de piano italien vivant au Royaume-Uni chanta plusieurs chansons italiennes. La visite se termina trop tôt pour tous, mais les membre du groupe ramenaient à la maison de souriants souvenirs. Pour plus d'information email: robaccord5@hotmail.com |

| March 31st 2017 saw the start of the 2nd Carillon Studios Accordion Festival in the north of the UK. The Carousel Hotel, near the Pleasure Beach complex on the Blackpool seafront is the new annual home for this great accordion event. Blackpool has a bit of a reputation of being a little run down and perhaps not the most high class of seaside towns but this great boutique hotel venue however bucks this reputation and shows off how Blackpool is changing and moving a little more upmarket. As with most Carillon events Friday afternoon started off with check in, a complimentary tea/coffee and music from the inimitable Harry Hussey.  On Friday May 28th, 8pm, accordionist Gorka Hermosa performs in concert with the group Flamenco Etxea at the Topic Museum of Tolosa, Gipuzkoa, in the Basque region of northern Spain. Gorka will duet with one of the most important figures of the Flamenco music, the guitarist José Luis Montón. |

 On Sunday May 28th, 2pm, musette accordionist Jerome Richard performs at the Champ de Foire, 223 rue de Fayet, Saint-Quentin, France. Also performing are the accordionists Christophe Vérin and Gilou, and the trumpet player Bruno djarane.Jerome Richard studied at the Paris Conservatoire, and his many competition successes include in 1999 winning both the CIA Coupe Mondiale and the CMA Trophée Mondiale. | Accordionist Gianni Mirizzi performs on Saturday 28th, 10.30pm, at the Parco di Villa, Cascina del Bel Raspiro, Via Vitellia 102, Rome. Gianni Mirizzi studied with Giancarlo Caporilli at the Conservatory in Rome, and competed in many competitions. He has performed in the UK, Germany, Greece, Corfu, and Croatia. | On Sunday May 28th, 4pm, the popular Belgian accordionist Erika and the singer Mylena Farley entertain in concert at ‘Chapiteau Place’, 08380 Tarzy, northern France. Erika Honorez, known as ‘The Princess of the Accordion’, is from Tilly, a village close to Villers La Ville in Belgium. She comes from a musical family, and received her first accordion at the age of 5 years. Erika's teacher was Mr Franz Lebrun from the Brussels Conservatory, and she studied the theory of music and classical music, and then specialized in the musette genre. Since 1981 Erika has been performing, composing, and recording. She has appeared on radio and TV in Belgium and France. Erika has recorded many CDs and DVDs, which are available through her website.  The Paris-Moscow Duo – Domi Emorine and Roman Jbanov - performs in concert on Saturday June 5th, 6.30pm, at MJC, Castanet-Tolosan, a commune in the Haute-Garonne department in southwestern France. Before the concert, at 4pm, the duo will give a master class. Roman Jbanov and Domi Emorine began performing together in 1998, and have performed in France, Russia, Denmark, Italy, Poland, China, Portugal, Lithuania, Canada, Norway, Spain, Switzerland, and the UK. Domi Emorine’s achievements include winning the CIA Coupe Mondiale, CMA Trophée Mondial, Concours International de Klingenthal, and the Prix de la Sacem. Roman Jbanov achievements include Grand Prize Beloborodov in Tula (Russia), Scholarship of the President of the Russian Republic, and the CMA Trophée Mondial.  Accordionist Guy Klucevsek is to open with a solo set for the New York Philharmonic Players for their free concert at Snug Harbor, Cultural Center & Botanical Garden, Staten Island, on Sunday June 18th. Guy will perform at 2pm, with the Philharmonic playing at 3pm, their programme to include music by Mozart and Schubert. |
