Veikko Ahvenainen (born 1929) made his first recording 60 years ago in 1955. In June, his latest CD was released in Helsinki and with that release, the total number of his recordings was an incredible 1,014 pieces.

This CD makes Veikko Ahvenainen the most recorded artist in Finland ever. His latest ”Täysikuu” (The Full Moon) CD includes famous Finnish evergreens composed by Toivo Kärki.

Veikko was only 9 years old, when he began his career as an accordionist. He has been professionally active in all sectors of accordion music for almost almost 70 years.

Veikko has also composed and arranged more than 1000 pieces for the accordion. He still regularly plays concerts with his wife Carina Nordlund and runs a marathon each year!

A simply amazing career by an amazing musician.
