Welt Akkordeon Tag mit 24h Web TV Show – Internationalby Harley Jones |
Der Welt Akkordeon Tag ist eine Initiative der Confederation Internationale des Accordeonistes (CIA) wird von 8 Uhr Sonntag, 5. Mai bis 08.00 Uhr Montag, 6. May (Französisch Zeit) auf Sendung des Kanals Deschamps und der World Accordion Day Webseites berichtet. Der Welt Akkordeon Tag wird von Frederic Deschamps und Grayson Masefield, sowie des CIA Präsidenten Raymond Bodell, unterstützt von dem Direktor Mike Rossi, gemeinsam präsentiert werden. Beginn der Sendeyeit ist 07.00 Uhr, Sonntag, 5. Mai 2013. Es ist der 6. CIA World Accordion Tag im 2. Jahr, der mit einem 24-Stundentag aus aller Welt, rund um die Uhr gefeiert wird. Besonders hervorzuheben sind die Akkordeon Interviews und interessanten Aktivitäten, die während des vergangenen Jahres aus vielen Ländern mit berühmten Akkordeonisten stattfanden, die nationalen Verbände, Hersteller, Autoren, Komponisten, Arrangeure und Lehrer aus der ganzen Welt teil. Die Amerikanischen Akkordeonisten 'Association (AAA) orgnaisierte eine Qualifikationsrunde für Studenten zur Teilnahme am 2013 Coupe Mondiale in Victoria, British Columbia. Drei Kandidaten wurden ausgewählt, um die AAA / USA beim Coupe Mondiale in der Junior Internationen Virtuoso Entertainment Kategorie und e in der Virtuoso Internationalen Entertainment Kategorie zu vertreten. Naomi Harris von Spokane, Washington, war eine der drei Vertreter der Junior Division. Naomi ist eine Schülerin von Patricia Bartell in Spokane. Rachel Quirbach von New Hampshire Studien mit Donna Michaeler Miguel School of Music in Lowell, MA, und Tor Stumo von Massachusetts, Schüler von Mary Tokarski in Northford, CT. Sam Thomas vertritt die AAA/USA in der Virtuoso International Entertainment Division. Auch er ist aus Spokane, WA und Schüler von Ilmar Kuljis. Sam ist kein Fremder in den Coupe Mondiale Wettbewerben. Er vertrat die AAA / USA sowohl im Entertainment-Wettbewerb und dem Akkordeon-Wettbewerb in Norwegen im Jahr 2006 sowie in Alexandria, VA, im Jahr 2007. Die beiden Teilnehmer aus Spokane spielten via Skype für die AAA Wertungsrichter, Linda Soley Reed (AAA President) und Frank Busso (AAA 1. Vizepräsident). 2013 Australische Internationale Akkordeon Wettbewerbe und Festival - Australienby Harley Jones |
Die 2013 Australianischen Internationalen Akkordeon Wettbewerbe und Festival werden am 8. und 9. Juni (Queens Birthday Long Weekend) im Mt. Pritchard Hall in Sydney durchgeführt. Die Veranstaltung wird von der australischen Accordion Teachers Association Vereinigung (AATA) unter der Präsidentin Tania Lukic-Marx (Bild links) organisiert. Es gibt Kategorien für internationale Teilnehmer aus allen Ländern und Teilnehmern aus Australien, China und Serbien erwartet. Anmeldungen sind noch bis zum 1. Mai möglich. The new CD, ‘Kume’, the first recording by the band of the same name, of Calabrian origin, has been released. The band members are Paolo Presta (accordion), Daniele Nicoletti (bass), Giacinto Maiorca (drums), all students of the jazz class at the ‘Stanislaus Giacomantonio’ Conservatory in Cosenza. In 2012 the band participated in the National Award of Arts festival ‘Improvisations’ and were placed third, receiving a special mention for the originality of their project. Their music ranges from ethnic melodies, groove rock, Latin beats, to the nuances of jazz, which characterizes their until now unreleased songs. Roland V-Accordion Junior Final National Competition, Moscow - Russiaby Yulia Amerikova |
The final Roland V-Accordion Junior national competition for Russia was held on the 21st and 22 April in Moscow. The organizer is the winner of international competitions, professor of RAM Gnesins’ Alexander Selivanov in collaboration with Roland Russia (“Roland Music”). The jury of the competition included: People's Artist of Russia, professor, composer Viatcheslav Semionov (jury chairman), head of the department "folk instruments orchestra" of Moscow Regional College of Art, Marina Mikitskaya, head of the department "folk instruments orchestra" of college RAM Gnesins’ Viatcheslav Vlasov and "Roland Music" marketing manager Ilya Sandalov. The auditions of the first category – “School” – was held on the 21st of April in the big hall of one of Moscow's music schools. Young competitors (between 8 and 15 years old) were requested to play a free program using a Roland FR-1. The winners of this category are: 3rd place – Ivan Evdokimov (Moscow) and Vladimir Lopatin (accordion, Moscow). 2nd place – Gleb Legov (Serpukhov). 1st place – Konstantin Ryabin (Yoshkar-Ola) – who won a Roland FR-1. The auditions of the second category – “College” – was held on the 22nd of April in Small Hall of the College of RAM Gnesins’. The participants performed a free program of 10-15 minutes using the Roland FR-3. The winners of the category “College” are: 3rd place – Arslan Petrov (Yoshkar-Ola) 2nd place – Alexandra Rybochkina (Khimki) 1st place - Denis Koptelov (Moscow). Denis won a Roland FR-3. The level of all competitors was high. All of them demonstrated interesting arrangements and good skills of playing on digital instruments. All participants received certificates and gifts and a USB flash-driver with the bank of sounds by Roland which expand the possibilities of the instrument. After the auditions was a small concert. Elizaveta Norik (Russian folk vocal) performed 2 Russian songs with the accompaniment by Helena Tenkova (Roland FR-1) and the winner of Roland V-Accordion Festival 2012, Klavdia Tarabrina performed her Festival program on accordion FR 7-x. |

Dutch jazz singer Caro Emerald’s latest recording, ‘Tangled Up’, is set against a fabulous tango accompaniment, featuring bandoneon player Carel Kraayenhof. ‘Tangled Up’ is a hit single release taken from her 2013 studio album ‘The Shocking Miss Emerald’. Caro Emerald (real name Caroline Esmeralda van der Leeuw, 1981), debuted in 2009 as a recording artist, and has since built up a huge following in many countries. She was trained as a jazz vocalist at the Amsterdam Conservatory, graduating in 2005. Carel Kraayenhof is one of Europe’s leading bandoneon players. He came to prominence in 2002 when he played at the royal wedding of Dutch Crown Prince Willem-Alexander and Argentinean Maxima Zorreguieta. |

The Accordions Worldwide news for the week ending April 30th 1999 included an item, titled Accordion Article, stating that an article about Tex-Mex music had become available on this website. Tex-Mex is the regional accordion-led genre popular in Texas, and the article (still available to read) explains its origins. On the Accordions Worldwide home page, under ‘Publications’ on the right hand side, is ‘Articles’. This constantly expanding sections currently has no less than 66 articles on wide ranging accordion-related topics – a considerable educational resource. Morley Accordion Orchestra (MD Ian Watson) perform in a special concert taking place at the Emma Conns Hall, Morley College, on Saturday May 4th, 7.30pm. This concert includes a new commission (by Jason Carr), ‘Europa’, a wonderful roller coaster of a piece taking one from the dark streets of 1950's Moscow to the jazz fueled cafes of 1960's Rome, via a siesta in Madrid, and a stunning final movement which depicts an ocean liner arriving in Stockholm. The 30 strong orchestra with full percussion section will also play pieces by Piazzolla, Henri Mancini, and Ian Watson. Also performing are the quintet – ‘Accordion5’ - with Julie North, Shona Holmes, Maria Serdyuk , Sarah Crisp, and Ian Watson. The quintet perform Ian Watson’s new arrangements of 'Summer' from the ‘Four Seasons’, by Vivaldi, and 'Orawa', a stunning piece by W. Kilar, as well as original pieces for accordion ensemble. The concert is also being recorded to become the orchestra’s second live CD. Morley Accordion Orchestra and ‘Accordion5’ are travelling to Austria to compete in the World Music Festival in May.
