Louis CorchiaVideo: Menzo Gatte, 14 year old, plays "Roulotte" by Louis Corchia, at Castelfidardo in 2019

Last week, we reported the sad death of Louis Corchia from Covid-19 and showed two videos. The CNIMA international accordion school based in the heart of France, pays homage to Louis Corchia.

Nathalie Boucheix, co-founder and school manager, fondly remembers all the concerts she played with her friend Louis Corchia. "I am deeply saddened by the loss of Loulou. He was an extraordinary musician, respected and appreciated by all.

Loyal, humble, easy-going. He was truly an exceptional man! A role model for all. I am truly moved by his death due to the Covid-19 pandemic. He trusted me for so many years inviting me regularly to play at his many galas and concerts among the best. I owe him a lot and will remember him forever, deep in my heart. He will be greatly missed. The accordion world is mourning as they lost a 'grand monsieur"!

Farewell Loulou and THANK YOU. You will always be at our side."

Jacques Mornet, founder of the CNIMA school adds:
"A great man just left us. He was an all round artist, a great musician (2nd in the Coupe Mondiale 1951 and winner of the first Trophée Mondial in 1951 in London) who won the pride of his father Primo, also an accordion talent which was almost transmitted genetically to his son.

His kindness and his musical honesty were famous. He loved life and knew how to share his joy and good mood. All the students at the CNIMA and the school manager Nathalie Boucheix, join me to give our most sincere condolences to his wife Jeanine and all the members of his family.

We have chosen Menzo Gatte, one of our youngest students to pay a well deserved homage through the playing of his "hit" (as he would say) "la Roulotte". Farewell our friend. In the angels paradise, up there.... be happy to have inspired this young generation that made you so proud."
