Dezember 2022 in Arrasate-Mondragón, Baskenland, Spanien, statt und wird von "Hauspoz" Euskal Herriko Akordeoi Elkartea, dem Rathaus von Arrasate und dem Bezirksrat von Gipuzkoa organisiert. Der Wettbewerb ist offen für Solisten jeden Alters und jeder Nationalität. Der Gewinner des Wettbewerbs wird von den Veranstaltern eingeladen, eine Reihe von Konzerten im Rahmen des XXX "Arrasate Hiria" Internationalen Akkordeonwettbewerbs 2023 zu geben.   Das XXXIV. Internationale Festival "Bajan und Bajanisten" wird vom 14. bis 18. Dezember 2022 im Konzertsaal der Russischen Musikakademie Gnesin (RAM) in Moskau, Russland, stattfinden. Dezember: Beim Eröffnungskonzert treten das Staatliche Akademische Russische Volksmusikensemble "Russland" unter der Leitung von Dmitry Dmitrienko, Professor Alexander Kapitan (Akkordeon), Stanislav Gerasimov (Akkordeon) sowie eine Gruppe von Professor Alexander Tsygankov (Domra), Vladislav Afanasiev (Domra), Anastasia Zakharova (Domra), Olzhas Nurlanov (Akkordeon), Rafael Sapukov (Akkordeon) und Mikhail Chernov (Akkordeon) auf. 15. Dezember: Auftritt von Dmitry Khodanovich (Akkordeon), Feier zum 80. Geburtstag des Komponisten Vladislav Zolotarev mit Professor Yuri Sidorov (Bajan), Olzhas Nurlanov (Akkordeon) und dem Bajan Ensemble bestehend aus: Semion Shmelkov, Timur Galinurov, Arslan Aliev, Lin Jing Han und Rafael Sapukov. 18. Dezember: Das Abschlusskonzert bietet populäre Musik und Jazz mit Eduard Akhanov (Bajan) und Freunden, dem Ivan Talanin Quartett (Bandoneon) "Tango En Vivo" und Peter Dranga (Akkordeon). Bei der Abschlussveranstaltung des Festivals wird die "Silberne Scheibe" verliehen. | Das 1. Internationale Festival Da Gaita wird vom 9. bis 11. Dezember 2022 in Barra do Ribeiro, Rio Grande do Sul, Brasilien, stattfinden. An der Veranstaltung, die vom Kulturministerium von Rio Grande do Sul organisiert wird, werden der brasilianische Akkordeonist Fofa Nobre und insgesamt 40 Künstler teilnehmen. | Vincent Peirani (akkordeon) und Yamandu Costa (siebensaitige gitarre) werden für ihre grandiose Technik auf dem Akkordeon und der Gitarre international gefeiert. Der französische Akkordeonist prägt den europäischen Jazz mit vielseitigen Projekten, der brasilianische Gitarrist wird als »Paganini der Gitarre« bezeichnet und gilt als der renommierteste zeitgenössische brasilianische Gitarrist. Beide können auf eine umfangreiche, mehrfach preisgekrönte Diskografie verweisen. Im Jahr 2018 trafen sich Vincent Peirani und Yamandu Costa beim Festival „Jazz à Porquerolles“ und beschlossen spontan, gemeinsam aufzutreten. Das Konzert war ein Feuerwerk dynamischer Interaktion und markierte den Beginn einer fulminanten Kollaboration. Jeder ihrer Auftritte verspricht eine explosive Mischung zweier begnadeter Künstler, die auf der Bühne einen Raum schaffen, der über die Musik hinausgeht und uns etwas Außergewöhnliches erleben lässt! Nun gastierten die begnadeten Musiker erstmals als Duo im Wiener Konzerthaus. Ihr Auftritt brachte einen atemberaubenden Abend voller vibrierender Rhythmen und genialer Melodien. |

 Video oben: En Pampa-Ausschnitt aus dem Aotango-Konzert in Takapuna. Das AOTANGO Quintett gab seine ersten beiden "Century of Tango" Konzerte am 21. November in der Warkworth Town Hall und am 22. November im Westlake Girls Events Centre in Takapuna, Auckland. Die Konzerte sind Teil einer "Century of Tango"-Reihe, die aus vier Konzerten besteht. Trotz eines Gewitters in Takapuna genoss das zahlreich erschienene Publikum ein großartiges Tangoprogramm - eine musikalische Reise durch die Entwicklung des Tangos mit beliebten Stücken wie El Choclo, Por una Cabeza und La Cumparsita bis hin zu den revolutionären Werken des Nuevo Tango des argentinischen Komponisten Ástor Piazzolla, Gardel, Galliano, Rodriguez und Jaurena & Torres. Bei AOTANGO treten einige der angesehensten Musiker Neuseelands auf: Grayson Masefield (mehrfacher Akkordeon-Weltmeister), Somi Kim (Pianist des NZTrio), Andrew Beer (Violine, Konzertmeister des Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra), Gordon Hill (Solobassist des Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra) und Sam Swindells (Jazzgitarre).  Video: excerpts from the concerts by the Tamburitzans featuring accordionist Cody McSherryCody McSherry has performed concerts with the Tamburitzans in the USA since 2020. The Tamburitzans, formerly the Duquesne University Tamburitzans, is an ensemble that has performed a wide variety of folk dance and music representing international cultures for over 80 years in the United States and internationally. Cody was accepted into the Tamburitzans in 2020 following an audition that included singing, dancing and playing accordion. Cody is now a sophomore at the University of Pittsburgh with a double major in Classical Studies with an emphasis in Ancient Greek and French, and an additional certificate in Russian and in Slavic Studies. | Saint Cecilia Celebrations were held at the Escola Municipal de Musica de Tarragona in Spain on November 22nd, 2022. The celebrations included a concert by the music school teachers designed for the whole family. Performers included Guillem Anguera (accordion), Alexis Lanza Bermejo (cello), Pau Duran Gual (guitar/ukelele), Xavier Pie (soprano sax) and Artemi Agras (bass) (pictured below). |

 Accordionist Nika Kushnir (picture left) was interviewed this month by music journalist Lior Friedman on the Israeli Radio Station, Galatz in Israel.During the show they discussed music that Nika has written, followed by her performance of Princess Accordion (Roger Dufas), Romanian Gypsy Suite (Emil Aybinder) and Basso Ostinato (Victor Vlasov). Nika is a member of the Haifa Cabaret Trio and performs regularly in Israel. |

  On November 20th, 2022 the Canterbury Accordion Association (CAA) held one of its regular Jam Sessions where players of any instrument join in making music together. The afternoon started with the group consisting of accordionists, a harmonica player, a brass bass and a keyboard playing a variety of selected pieces from the music provided (picture below). The audience clapped along to ‘Deep in the Heart of Texas’ and the group finished with a few favourite Christmas Carols. 93yr old soloist, Raelene Turner (picture above right) then performed ‘Remember You’re Mine’ and CAA 2022 Scholarship award winner, 10yr old Ivy Du, played ‘Raisins & Almonds’ and ‘Yossel Yossel’. Then came the highlight of the afternoon with the CAA having the good fortune to welcome Annie Gong (picture above left), professional accordionist and entertainer, (usually entertaining on Cruise ships from London), in New Zealand for the Summer season. Annie is currently in Christchurch and was available to join in the Jam Session. Annie with her catchy enthusiasm and wonderful talent kept us all spellbound and wanting more. She played short excerpts from pieces such as Toccato in D Minor, Phantom of the Opera and a Jazz piece and then on to a very moving ‘Hallelujah’ and a country music piece ‘Cotton-Eyed Joe’. The variety of music ended with Annie changing her accordion to sound like the bag-pipes and she marched to ‘Scotland the Brave’ much to the delight of a Scottish member present! Annie then invited questions on how her MIDI accordion worked and she explained the programming system of different instrumental sounds to create whatever she wanted – even a full orchestra and voices! Annie’s passion for passing on any information she could and seeing players enjoy playing the accordion was appreciated and well received by all present. What a treat it was to have such a talented and exciting young player entertain us – thoroughly enjoyed by all! | The Hohenlimburg Accordion Orchestra e.V. will perform a concert entitled “We Will Entertain You” in the Auditorium of the Realschule Hohenlimburg in Hagen, Germany on November 27th, 2022. The orchestra will be joined by the Hohenlimburg theater group "Klamauk" and the "Elseyer-Nahmer Men's Choir". | The closing date for the 1st International Igor Zavadsky Accordion Competition, due to be held in Kyiv, Ukraine next year has been extended until December 31st, 2022. The competition itself consists of three rounds. the third with the orchestra of the National Philharmonic of Ukraine. The event is planned to take place in Kyiv from May 23rd to 28th, 2023 or May 21st to 26th, 2024 (if martial law is still in place in Kyiv at the beginning of spring next year). The competition jury includes Igor Zavadsky (Ukraine), Renzo Ruggieri (Italy), Franck Vilain (France), Olga Mykytenko (Germany) and Victor Makarov (Belgium). |

 Video oben: The Holy City, komponiert von Stephen Adams, einem Lieblingslied von Marie Jones, vorgetragen von Alanah Jones und Vater Maurice Jones bei der Marie Jones Celebration of Life am 13. November 2022.Marie Jones (oben) im Alter von 90 Jahren im Kreise ihrer Familie. Kurz vor ihrem 94. Geburtstag verstarb Marie Evelyn Jones in den Lady Allum Care Suites. Nachdem sie vor kurzem an Covid, einem gebrochenen Bein und zwei Schlaganfällen gelitten hatte, ist sie nun zur Ruhe gekommen. Am 13. November fand eine private Einäscherung und eine Lebensfeier statt, um ein langes und erfülltes Leben zu würdigen, das dem Akkordeon und der Familie gewidmet war. Marie Jones war die geliebte Mutter der Akkordeonisten Harley Jones, Maurice Jones und Heather Masefield und geliebte Großmutter von Amber Masefield, Grayson Masefield und Alanah Jones. Sie hinterlässt ihre Schwester Nita Rotherham, die letzte ihrer 6 Geschwister. Fast 60 Jahre lang lebte sie in der O'Neills Ave 4, Accordion House Importer/Retailer, was bedeutete, dass täglich viele Anrufe und Besucher kamen, um zunächst ihren Ehemann Allan Jones und dann nach 1980 ihren Sohn Maurice Jones zu besuchen, der in diesen Räumlichkeiten Akkordeons für den australischen Markt importierte. Im Oktober 2003 wurde Marie Jones auf dem CIA-Kongress in Ungarn als erste Person mit dem Honored Friend of the Accordion Award der Confédération Internationale des Accordéonistes (CIA) für ihren langjährigen Beitrag zum Akkordeon in Neuseeland sowie für ihre Arbeit bei internationalen Veranstaltungen in Neuseeland ausgezeichnet. Er hat mit Stochelo Rosenberg, Angelo Debarre, Dorado Schmitt, San Severino, Thomas Dutronc und Guy Marchand gespielt, um nur einige zu nennen, und hat einen Doktortitel in Gypsy Jazz.
