![]() On June 19th, 2022, the new Kompetenzzentrum für Amateurmusik Trossingen (Competence Center for Amateur Music Trossingen) was ceremoniously opened after one and a half years of construction. The new building (photo above by Ralf Pfründer) is a strong signal for cultural education in rural areas and houses the office of the DHV, the Bundesmusikverband Chor & Orchester (BMCO) and the Landes-Hackbrett-Bund Baden-Württemberg. DHV President Jochen Haußmann MdL is pleased: "Amateur music is carried with great passion by many voluntary contributors. With the Kompetenzzentrum für Amateurmusik Trossingen, we have taken an important step into the future. The music town of Trossingen will be further strengthened and the Federal Music Association will continue to have its headquarters in Baden-Württemberg as the umbrella organization for amateur music in Germany, thus creating a contact point for the 14.3 million people who make music in their free time".
