 Der 57. Internationale Akkordeon Wettbewerb Klingenthal 2020 findet vom 3. bis 9. Mai in Klingenthal statt. Akkordeonisten aller Nationalitäten und aus allen Ländern sind zur Teilnahme eingeladen. Der Wettbewerb umfasst Kategorien für Solisten, Duos, Trios und Gruppen.Der Wettbewerb hat das Ziel, Akkordeonsolisten jeden Alters, Akkordeonmusik für Solisten oder Gruppen, Akkordeonsolisten, die zusammen mit einem Symphonieorchester spielen, kammermusikalische Interpretationen für mehrere Akkordeons sowie neue Akkordeonkompositionen zu fördern. Die Veranstalter arbeiten eng mit international renommierten Künstlern, Musikpädagogen, Komponisten, Orchesterdirigenten und Musikwissenschaftlern, sowie mit dem Deutschen Harmonika Verband, dem Deutschen Akkordeonlehrerverband, dem Tourismusverband Vogtland und den „Union International Concert Accordionists“, zusammen.  Anmeldungen für die National Accordion Association (NAA) Convention, die vom 18. bis 21. März 2020 im Hyatt Regency, North Dallas, Texas, stattfindet und von der NAA unter der Leitung von Präsident Norman Seaton organisiert wird (Bild links), sind ab sofort möglich. Das Thema der diesjährigen Veranstaltung lautet: "Von Klassik bis Folk - die Welt des Akkordeons".Die Veranstaltung wird am Mittwochabend, dem 18. März, mit Orchesterproben und der Gelegenheit, sich zu treffen und zu unterhalten, eröffnet. Es gibt vier Orchester wie folgt: - Matthias Matzke (Deutschland) dirigiert das Sinfonieorchester. - Dick Albreski (OK) die Fun Band - Shelia Lee (TX) die Tanzband - Sam Falcetti (MA) dirigiert ein Digital Orchestra (zum ersten Mal in diesem Jahr) Jeden Abend gibt es Konzerte mit den Gästen Tutto-a-Dio (Akkordeon & Viola), Americana mit Fun Band, Richard Noel, Ginny Mac und einem Überraschungsgast aus Australien, eine “Dance Party”, die offiziell von Shelia Lee eröffnet wird, der Dance Band und mehreren Künstlern, die Musik machen werden, bis den Tanzlustigen Ihre Schuhe Feuer fangen werden. Das Konzert am Samstagabend wird neben Orchesterauftritten auch Soloauftritte von Gary Blair, Cory Pesaturo und Mathias Matzke beinhalten. Anmeldeschluss ist der 1. März 2020.  Oleg Sharov (Präsident des Komitees, Zhongsin Internationaler Wettbewerb, Bild oben) und Grayson Masefield (Bild unten) gaben Auftritte und fungierten als Jurymitglieder des großen Internationalen Musikwettbewerbs von Zhongsin.Der erste internationale Musikwettbewerb von Zhongsin fand 2007 in Singapur statt. Der Wettbewerb soll einer der professionellsten und umfassendsten internationalen Musikwettbewerbe sein und wurde vom National Arts Council von Singapur und der Singapore Chinese Music Association mit großer Unterstützung durchgeführt. Zu den Wettbewerben zählen Vorrunde und Finale, die Vorrunde hat über 50.000 Teilnehmer, und in diesem Jahr reisten über 800 Finalisten aus den USA, Schweden, Kanada, Japan, Singapur, Südkorea, China, Malaysia, Indien, Indonesien und Russland nach Singapur. Xia Gang (Bild links) ist Gründerin und Generalsekretärin des Komitees des Zhongsin Internationalen Wettbewerbs, außerordentliche Professorin am Sichuan Konservatorium für Musik, hochrangiges Mitglied der China Akkordeon Vereinigung (CAA) der chinesischen Musikervereinigung. Es gibt Wettbewerbe für viele Instrumente: - Klavier - Chinesische Volksinstrumente: Guzheng, Ruan, Pipa, Yangqin, Erhu, Bambusflöte - Moderne Tasteninstrumente: Akkordeon, elektronische Orgel, elektronisches Klavier - Streichinstrumente: Violine, Bratsche, Cello, Kontrabass - Gitarre: Klassische Gitarre, Finger Style Gitarre - Blasinstrumente: Oboe, Flöte, Klarinette, Fagott, Saxophon, Horn, Trompete, Posaune, Blockflöte - Schlagzeug: Jazz-Trommel; World Percussion - Vokal Oleg Sharov und Grayson Masefield traten beide beim Gala Concert & Prizegiving im Rahmen des Programms der Preisträger.  Die Nationale Akkordeon Organisation des Vereinigten Königreichs (NAO) wird ihr 2020 Akkordeon Festival vom 24. bis 26. April im Adelphi Hotel in Liverpool abhalten.Zusätzlich zu den Wettbewerben werden auf der Veranstaltung CIA-Qualifikationen für das anstehende 73. Coupé Mondiale (CIA) in der Algarve, Portugal, sowie für den nationalen Komponistenwettbewerb der NAO angeboten. Dieser Wettbewerb richtet sich an Akkordeonkompositionen, die in einem für jede Altersgruppe geeigneten Stil wie Klassik, Blues oder Jazz geschrieben wurden, jedoch keine Arrangements aus bereits veröffentlichtem Material sein dürfen. Regionswettbewerbe begannen Ende 2019 und laufen bis März dieses Jahres, wobei erfolgreiche Wettbewerber ihre Region auf dem Festival vertreten. Kommende Regionswettbewerbe sind: 15.  A new initiative by influential Prof. Wang Hongyu (picture left), Art Director, Harbin Summer International Accordion Art Week, has been initiated for the 35th China Harbin international competitions.Named the "New Composition Group" category, competitors are required to select one or two compositions composed for accordion, their own choice. Competitors are also required to perform one of the six new compositions listed online. Compositions by Franck Angelis, Li Bochan, Gorka Hermosa, Petri Makkonen, Volodymyr Runchak, and Changjun Xu. This competition has no age limit and will be held in one round. Performances must not exceed 25 minutes.  A tribute to Marcel Azzola (picture left) concert will be held at the Conservatoire de Nice (Nice Conservatory) in Nice, France on January 31st at 6.30pm. Marcel Azzola one of France’s most famous accordionists, passed away peacefully last year on January 21st, 2019 at the age of 91. | The 5th Open All-Russian Competition of Young Artists on Folk Instruments named after V.V. Sznamensky, will be held from February 5th to 9th, 2020 at the Ural State Conservatory named after M.P. Mussorgsky in Yekaterinburg, Russia. The competition will include a variety of categories (from junior up to senior) for folk instruments including the accordion.  Accordionist Geoff Berner (picture left) will tour Canada next month with the Bird City folk group to launch his latest album Grand Hotel Cosmopolis. The video above is the title song that Geoff Berner wrote for the Grand Hotel Cosmopolis - a social justice project that houses refugees and asylum seekers in Augsburg, Germany. | Registrations are now being accepted for the 30th American Accordion Musicological Society Festival held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Cherry Hill, New Jersey on March 6th and 7th, 2020. The event will include an honoree banquet with MC Manny Bobenreith, and will feature guest of honor Joan Cochran Sommers. The festival will also include workshops by Joan Sommers, Joe Natoli and Al Terzo, and 2 x festival orchestras directed by guest conductors Dee Langley and festival honoree Joan Sommers. Workshop topics are: 1. Really Useful Technique to be Mastered in Pieces Instead of Exercises! and The Importance of Sight-Reading Skills! Presented by Joan C. Sommers. (AATA) will hold their annual International Accordion Championships at Club Marconi in Sydney, NSW on 25th and 26th July, 2020.Organised by Tatjana Marx (picture left), the event will include competitions for soloists, duos and groups in a variety of age groups. The International Pacific Piano Accordion Championship classes are open to contestants from the following countries or territories: Philippines, New Caledonia, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Guam, Vietnam, Kampuchea, Hong Kong, China, Japan, Taiwan, Korea, Canada, USA, Mexico, Panama, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Argentina, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Guatemala, New Zealand and all South Pacific nations and territories.  Was planen Sie für den Weltakkordeon-Tag, um das Akkordeon in Ihrem Land zu fördern? Der Weltakkordeon-Tag ist am 6. Mai, dem Tag, an dem das Akkordeon 1829 patentiert wurde.Der Weltakkordeon-Tag wurde 2009 von der Confédération Internationale des Accordéonistes (CIA) ins Leben gerufen und bisher sehr erfolgreich, was für das Akkordeon viel positive Resonanz brachte. Ein wichtiger Teil dieser Veranstaltung ist die Website des World Accordion Day. Jeder Verein, jede Gruppe, jedes Orchester, Performer und Lehrer wird gebeten, diese Veranstaltung aktiv zu unterstützen, indem er nationale und lokale Akkordeonaktivitäten an diesem Tag oder am Wochenende, vor oder nach demAkkordeon-Tages, falls dies besser in ein Programm passen sollte. Jeder kann seine Aktivitäten zum Weltakkordeon-Tag auf der Website registrieren und danach einen Bericht über seine Veranstaltung verfassen. Keine Veranstaltung ist zu groß oder zu klein. ALLE Akkordeonveranstaltungen zum Weltakkordeontag sind herzlich willkommen. It's part of a university thesis (2013) and it is certainly a piece used all over the world.
