 Avec son CD «Terre», Renzo Ruggieri a enregistré avec le guitariste Mauro De Federicis, il a réalisé le classement des 20 meilleurs musiciens de l'année (pour piano, claviers, guitare, accordéon), la réalisation de la deuxième place à l'accordéoniste Antonello Salis en un référendum organisé par le magazine 'Jazz Music' (éd. Hachette, Rusconi). Le CD contient des numéros mettant en vedette les chanteurs célèbres Antonella Ruggiero et Milva. Dans le même référendum, le classement inclus les pianistes Stefano Bollani, Franco D'Andrea, Danilo Rea, et Enrico Pierannunzi. Félicitations à Antonello Salis et Renzo Ruggieri pour ces succès. |

 L'Organisation nationale d’Accordéon du Royaume-Uni (NAO) est heureux d'annoncer que, dans le cadre de sa politique de promotion de tous les aspects de l'Accordéon au Royaume-Uni et à l'étranger, il aura à partir de 2009, une l'organisation de la National Accordéon Composers' Competition. Ce concours était auparavant géré par l'Accordéon-major du Nord, le Club qui a créé l'événement en l'an 2000. Le Conseil national de la concurrence des compositeurs Accordéon vise à encourager les nouvelles compositions de l'accordéon et à la publication des meilleures entrées. Les catégories sont les suivantes: professionnels, amateurs et juniors, avec des sous-catégories, solo, duo et ensemble / orchestre.  "Accordéon Dreams: Un voyage dans la musique cajun et créole», par Tony Blair Kilpatrick, nous parle de son obsession de l'improbable Cajun culture et de l'accordéon. Dès l'âge de trente-neuf, Blair Kilpatrick a réglé dans la vie comme une pratique de psychologue, d'épouse et de mère. Ensuite, une rencontre à la Nouvelle-Orléans transformé son monde à l'envers. Elle est retournée chez elle à Chicago avec peu de nouvelles passions pour la musique cadienne et la définition de son instrument, l'accordéon. Séduit par le rêve récurrent de jouer le rôle de l'accordéon cajun, elle a entrepris de le maîtriser. Pourtant, elle n'était pas un musicien, était trop auto-conscient de la danse, et n'a même pas chanter dans la douche. Kilpatrick l'obsession de Chicago lui a fallu du Cajun scène d'un camp de musique folk en Virginie occidentale, et inversement au sud, la Louisiane, et même à un festival Cajun en France. Un imprévu de famille l'a amenée à passer de la Baie de San Francisco, qui abrite le plus grand Cajun-Zydeco scène musicale à l'extérieur de la côte du Golfe. Là, elle est devenu le protégé du célèbre accordéoniste Danny Poullard, un créole de Louisiane-né et de l'esprit de la Louisiane française musique. Journalist's Accordéon Gagne les Coeurs en Afghanistanby Rob Howard |
 Gregory Warner, loin de sa carrière de journaliste radio, a joué du piano dans les bars à New York, et est également un accordéoniste. Quand Gregory Warner a récemment en Afghanistan pour un reportage, il a pris son accordéon avec lui, en espérant aider à la musique, où son expression livre échoué. L'instrument se révèle être un meilleur ambassadeur que tout ce qu'il imaginait. Ses vidéos, "Afghanistan: un accordéon Journey", disponible sur YouTube, montre combien sa musique a contribué à combler le fossé entre les étrangers et les autochtones en rappelant l'Afghanistan accordéon propre héros, Ahmad Zahir. (Trente ans après sa mort, Afghanistan Zahir est toujours le plus populaire et durable musical icône.) Warner peut être vu et entendu, l'exécution de Johnny Cash "Ring of Fire" pour une foule acclame afghan. |

 Nous recherchons des joueurs d'accordéon ou de toute personne qui peut lire de la musique et peut-être de jouer du piano, de contribuer à un projet de l'artiste Ruth Ewan, qui participe à la Triennale d'exposition à la Tate Britain, une galerie située à Millbank à Londres. Ewan prend que son accent de l'histoire de la protestation et d'activisme. Dans le cadre de la "Squeezebox Jukebox", le plus grand accordéon seront expédiées au cours de l'Italie et installés dans les galeries à la Tate Britain (http://Largest-Accordion.notlong.com). Une sélection de chansons de protestation et politiques sont actuellement en cours de transcription pour jouer sur le géant de l'accordéon tout au long de l'exposition. C'est là que nous avons besoin d'aide. L'accordéon est de jouer tous les jours et il faut deux personnes pour jouer, une rotation est en cours d'élaboration au calendrier des joueurs et nous avons besoin de bénévoles pour la remplir. Un «passage» à tour de rôle à jouer signifie généralement une ou deux chansons (à un moment - à confirmer) et devrait prendre un engagement d'environ 10-15 minutes. L'exposition est présentée du 2 au Février 26e avril 2009. Pour les joueurs d'accordéon et de pouvoir les amateurs de cette musique est une fois dans une vie occasion de savoir jouer d'un instrument inhabituel sur une échelle gargantuesque!  Polish accordionist Grzegorz Stopa recently made his debut as a soloist in Vienna’s world-famous Big Hall of Musikverein performing Kalevi Aho’s ‘Sonata No.2 (Black Birds)’.He was born in Przemysl (Poland) in 1973, and studied accordion with Professor W. L. Puchnowski at the F. Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw, and as a scholar of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), with Professor Mie Miki at the Folkwang Hochschule für Musik in Essen, and also at the Hochschule für Musik in Detmold, Germany. During his studies, Grzegorz Stopa, was also a teacher at both academies. Grzegorz Stopa is a prize-winner of 11 international and national solo and chamber music competitions, among others the Grand Prix of the International Accordion Competition in Tokyo, Japan (2002) as well as numerous scholarship foundations. He has made several concert tours as soloist and chamber musician in Europe and Asia. Since his debut concert in Tokyo (2003), he has given regular recitals in Japan (e.g. Casalas Hall or Kioi Hall, Tokyo; Phoenix Hall, Osaka). Grzegorz Stopa was the first accordionist to perform in the concert series ‘Soloists of the Young Elite’ in the Mecklenburg Vorpommern Festival (2003), and has numerous first performances within the scope of contemporary music. He has worked with the ensemble "die reihe" and with composers such as Kalevi Aho, Sofia Gubaidulina, Lukas Ligeti or Makoto Nomura. In 2005 Grzegorz Stopa was appointed to the Vienna Conservatory as teacher of the first university accordion class, and since 2007 also a teacher at the University of Music and Dramatic Arts in Graz. |

| The Russian Folk Orchestra of the Music School Ippolitov-Ivanov, conducted by Galina Shishkina, featured accordionists for their concert at the large Philharmonic Hall in Rostov on January 18th. 2009 in Russia has been named the "Year of Youth" The audience enjoyed this concert very much as the level of the orchestra showed a high professional standard with powerful emotions. Very impressive was the performances of outstanding musicians, Honored Artist of Russia Yuri Shishkin (accordion), Vladimir Kolontaeva (balalaika) and Honored Musician of Culture of Russia, Vladimir Skiba (accordion). The performances of young artists, winners of international competitions, was especially interesting and exciting! Virtuoso playing accordionist Andrew Zamkovogo (A. Holminov "Scherzo); made a vivid, emotional performance. Accordionist Vitaly Hitushka (Bernie Miller "Bernie`s Tune"); brilliant, temperamental, filled with special joy and humor.  The NAMM Show is for the music trade only and not open to the public with some 86,000 people from the music trade attending. Ron Lankford of Roland USA reports: "Roland are pleased that the unveiling of the FR-1 V-Accordion for its American release at the NAMM Show was a huge success." "The attention that was given to the new FR-1 and the whole Digital V-Accordion line was the best ever. There are now 4 models that are currently available in the Roland digital accordion line-up and even though the FR-1 is the smallest offering, it's accordion features certainly don't say entry level." "Weighing in at less than 12.5 pounds, 26 treble keys, 72 bass buttons, 4 orchestra voices, 4 organ voices, has 7 accordion models and is a midi controller.  L'I.M.M.A (Institut musical Marie-Andrée) est né d'une passion pour l'enseignement et l'amour de la musique. Cette école est dirigée par Marie-Andrée Joerger, jeune professeur diplômé d'état. Après de nombreuses études (Conservatoire de Paris, Centre de formation des enseignants de la musique de Dijon et de nombreux stages avec des professeurs de grande renommée : A. Skliarov, T. Anzellotti, J. Mornet...), Marie-Andrée a décidé à son tour de transmettre sa passion en ouvrant son école à Rosheim (l'I.M.M.A). Elle compte à son actif une vingtaine d'élèves de tous âges, tous réunis pour jouer de ce magnifique instrument qu'est : l'accordéon, ainsi que les cours de formation musicale. Elle saura les diriger vers les différentes possiblitées de l'instrument, par de multiples méthodes d'apprentissage afin de les motiver pour qu'ils deviennent des musiciens affirmés (amateurs ou professionels), et qu'il s'épanouissent dans la musique. Parmis ces élèves, il y en a d'ores et déjà qui se révelent prometteur pour l'avenir. Les portes sont grandes ouvertes à tous les niveaux, toute l'année.  The National Organisation of the UK - North Central Area Festival incorporating the Yorkshire Accordion & Music Festival, Championships, takes place on February 7th at the Victoria Hall, Saltaire, West Yorkshire.The competition which is one of the qualifying competitions for the NAO UK Championships 2009 to be held in April in Blackpool. The adjudicators include Raymond Bodell, Djordje Gajic, Ken Farran, Karolyn Broadhead, Graham Waterhouse, and Andrew Fearnley. There will be a display of instruments a demonstration of the Roland V.  After extensive artistic enjoyment of Christmas time and the Epiphany in the ‘Ring’ Church of Wiesbaden, a music concert takes place on Sunday January 25th, 5 pm, titled: "With 1,000 Reed Tongues" - all about the accordion. The 9 musicians (all graduates and students of the Music Academy, Wiesbaden), conducted by the Lecturer Mirjana Petercol, will present works from the classical accordion-literature (Abbott, Brehme, Kagel, etc), as well as spiritual songs of the romantic area for soloists (Franck, Rossini, Dvorak, etc) - accompanied by the accordion. Entrance is free. The accordion, an instrument associated with folk and popular music for a long time, has also found its place in the classical music scene, especially with new music. The instrument - patented by a Viennese in 1829, has now expanded all over the world and is integrated in all types of musical cultures. |

 The second album by KTU (Trey Gunn, Kimmo Pohjonen, Pat Mastelotto) entitled Quiver will be released in Finland by Rockadillo Records on February 4th 2009. European release via Rockadillo and Westpark Music will follow, exact dates TBC. The Japanese release by Disk Union is set for March 6th. The American release is TBC. KTU (pronounced "K2") features Finnish accordion adventurer Kimmo Pohjonen in collaboration with King Crimson's Pat Mastelotto - rhythmic devices, and Trey Gunn - guitar. Their first album, a live recording from Tokyo entitled ‘8 Armed Monkey’, was released in Europe, America and Japan in 2005. Quiver features all new music, composed, arranged and produced by KTU, recorded at The Zone studios in Texas and mixed at Seawolf Studios, Helsinki. Quiver features guest performances by previous KTU member Samuli Kosminen, who departed the band in 2007 and is also known for his work in Icelandic band MuM.
