Die Französische Qualifikationsrunden für die Confédération Internationale des Accordéonistes (CIA) Coupe Mondiale und die Confédération Mondiale de l'Accordéon (CMA) Trophée Mondial sind am 24. Juli, in La Selle-sur-le-Bied, Loiret in der Nähe von Paris. Tagsüber kann das Publikum auch zwei großen internationale Konzerte geniessen, ein klassisches Konzert in der Dorfkirche und andere in der örtlichen Halle. Es werden Spieler aus 10 Ländern dabei teilnehmen! Die Mitglieder der Jury sind: Jacques Mornet und Frédéric Deschamps (Frankreich), Crystal Wang (China), Loui Herinx (Österreich), Raymond Bodell (UK), und Antonio Spaccarotella (Italien). Das Konzert in der Kirche von la Selle sur le Bied ist von 10.30 bis 12.30 Uhr mit den Schülern von Frédéric Deschamps: Vincent Gailly (Belgien), Christel Sautaux (Schweiz), Natanael Teixeira (Portugal), Evin Keli (Irland) , Augustinas Rakauskas (Litauen) und Grayson Masefield (Neuseeland). Weiters deaqs Hohner International Quintet mit Grayson Masefield, Christel Sautaux, Natanael Teixeira, Evin Keli und Augustinas Rakauskas. Von 15.00 bis 18.00 Uhr gibt es die Qualifikationsrunde der Französisch Variété Konkurrenten im Saal des Ortes, sowie ein Variété Konzert mit den folgenden internationalen Schülern von Frédéric Deschamps: Jose Dias (Portugal), Yizhong Wan (China), Shengji Zhuo (China), Xuan Shi (China), Zhiyuan Zhang (China), Simone Sciamarella (Italien), Simone Mannarino (Italien), Ernesto Calderon (Chile), Loui Herinx (Österreich), Natanael Teixeira (Portugal) und Grayson Masefield (Neuseeland). | Zu dem erfolgreichen 2011 AAA Festival in Charleston kamen viele junge, talentierte Musiker mit vielen verschiedenen Instrumenten, die zusammen mit anderen jungen Akkordeonisten unter der Leitung von Eddie Monteiro am Samstag Nachmittag zur Begeisterung des zahlreichen Publikums spielten. Viele informative und unterhaltsame Workshops kreativ präsentiertt von: Ian Fries, Rita Davidson, Joan Grauman, Gabe Hall-Rodriguez, Karen Malan-Uribe, Randy Martin, Robert McMahan, Joe Natoli, Ray Oreggia, Joan C. Sommers und Mary Tokarski Die Ergebnissen der Wettbewerbe: US Virtuoso Solo Champion: 1. - Andre Fry, Annapolis, MD, 2. - Katrina Cheung, Fullerton, CA, 3. – Quinn Collins, Tempe, AZ. Adult Divisionen Gewinner Shao Ying Cheng Du, aus China war das Ereignis beim Abschlußkonzert/Siegerehrung. Die Internationale Orchestra Werttbewerbs-Jury (Joan Sommers, Robert McMahan und Frank Busso, Sr.) hat die Martin Musikschule Akkordeon-Orchester als Gewinner erkoren. Die Gast Künstlern und Ensembles waren: Donna Dee Ray, Walt Kasprzyk, Dr. Robert Young McMahan und Sopran, Joy Bechtler, Ocotrillo mit Frank Petrilli, Gabe Hall-Rodriguez das AAA 2010 US Virtuoso Solo Champion, Joe Natoli, The Connecticut Akkordeon-Orchester von Linda Soley Reed durchgeführt, die Martin Akkordeon-Orchester von Randy Martin, spezielle Wiedersehen Aussehen der K Trio, Roland-USA V-Junior Champion Alicia Baker, Nashville Multitalent Jeff Lisenby, Jazz Akkordeon großen Eddie Monteiro, Randy Martin, AAA Massed Band von Frank Busso durchgeführt, und die 2011 durchgeführt AAA Festival Orchestra von Joan Sommers durchgeführt. "Cowjunto Musik" Austin Cow Parade, Play In Party – USAby Bess Sullivan |

| Bess schreibt: Ich habe für die Austin Cow Parade eine Kuh entworfen und bemalt und sie "Cowjunto Musil" benannt. Das Foto zeigt mich und "Cowjunto Musik" mit dem Akkordeon - die andere Seite hat ein Knopfakkordeon. Am Mittwoch, 27. Juli, von 19.00 bis 21.00 Uhr, im Langen Center in Austin werden bei der Cow Parade Preview Party alle Kühe (55 ) vorgestellt. Ich wünsche mir, dass so viele Akkordeonspieler wie möglich an der Party teilnehmen und bei einem Signalzeichen 'Viva Seguin' oder 'Jesse Polka "oder" Hey Baby Que Paso " spielen. Es wird sicherlich ein hölllischer Spaß. Die Party ist ohne jegliche Kosten, nur der Langen-Center Parkplatz ist kostengebührend. Herausgeber: Das gibt es nur in Texas - oder? Mika Väyrynen präsentiert Weltpremiere in Alcobaca – Portugalby Kevin Friedrich |
 Kurz nach Rückkehr seines Konzertes und Meisterklasse in Kragujevac, Serbien reist der finnische Akkordeonist Mika Väyrynen nach Alcobaca, Portugal, um im "Cistermusica 'Festival teilzunehmen, wo der künstlerische Leiter einer der berühmtesten südeuropäischen Komponisten, Maestro Alexandro Delgado ist.Im Rahmen des Festivals wird Mika Väyrynen ein Solo-Konzert am 23. Juli mit Werken von Bach, Couperin, Sallinen, Rydman, Väyrynen und Angelis aufführen. Weiters gibt es von ihm 2 Weltpremieren der Werke „Un Moment Amoureuse" für Solo-Akkordeon, ein Werk des renommierten finnischen Komponisten Kari Rydmans und Eigenkomposition "Drei finnische Folk Songs" (3 verschiedene Movementes) wobei jede wichtigen Menschen in seinem Leben gewidmet sind: seinen Kindern, "In memoriam" an einen Freund, und seiner Frau.   Ab 1. September 2011 gibt es am ArtEZ Konservatorium in Arnheim, Niederlande, eine Akkordeon-Abteilung für Jazz und Pop unter der Leitung des in den Niederlanden ansässigen bosnischen Komponisten und Konzert Akkordeonisten Nihad Hrustanbegovic. Außerdem veröffentlich Nihad Hrustanbegovic auch am 1. September seine dritte Solo-CD "in Het Concertgebouw Amsterdam Live '. Dieses Album enthält Improvisationen und Arrangements von Nihad Hrustanbegovic mit Musik von Claude Debussy, Miles Davis, Astor Piazzolla, und eine neue Komposition. 'Live in Het Concertgebouw Amsterdam und erhältlich auf Itunes. Nihad Hrustanbegovic erhielt seinen Bachelor-Abschluss im Jahr 2000 und im Jahr 2002 seinen Master of Music mit Cum Laude am Artez Konservatorium in den Niederlanden. Er hat in Anwesenheit Ihrer Majestät Königin Beatrix gespielt und hat mit vielen Künstlern wie Al Di Meola, Grace Jones und The Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw zusammengearbeitet. | As part of the buildup to the Rugby World Cup 2011 being held in New Zealand, accordionist Maurice Jones of Accordion House Importer/Retailer was invited to Napier to appear on the TV1 Good Morning Show for the part hosted by Tamati Ellison (picture above). Also filming the event was the French TV station TF1 (picture below). Being featured was the Rugby World Cup 2011 Roadshow display, the World Cup trophy promoting the French rugby game in Napier in September. For the Roadshow visit to Napier, Hawke's Bay residents were asked to "adopt a second team" and support France. To honor the French national rugby team’s participation, the early morning crowd sang the French National Anthem ‘La Marseillaise’, accompanied by Maurice Jones on the accordion and the French and New Zealand TV stations broadcast that. Maurice then performed background music to the Napier portion of the TV1 Breakfast Show. A profiterole Eiffel Tower, French singer and accordion players, and face painting for the kids, helped build excitement for the region's international guest teams. Maurice Jones will return to Napier on September 18th for the rugby game France versus Canada, where he will provide a "French flavor" for the event. The Rugby World Cup 2011 takes place in New Zealand from September 9th until October 23rd, with the final to be played at Eden Park, Auckland. |

 French-born American-based accordionist Julien Labro performed in some of the most beautiful areas of the USA during the month of June. His travels took Julien to California, the Midwest, New York, and Colorado, including performing and leading a workshop at DjangoFest in California. After a lengthy Midwest tour with the ‘Hot Club of Detroit’, Julien headed to the festivals Jazz Aspen Snowmass and Dazzle in Denver, which was an amazing trip. It was his first time in Colorado, and the performances were well received and positively reviewed by the Aspen Times. In July, Julien had the pleasure to reconnect with guitarist Frank Vignola for some shows at the Blissfest Music Festival in Northwest Michigan and more recently in Long Island (NY). Julien Labro and the world-renowned classical guitarist Jason Vieaux have together recorded a new CD, to be released in the autumn by Azica Records. This is an all-Piazzolla recording featuring Julien’s arrangements for guitar and bandoneon, with the Boston chamber orchestra, ‘A Far Cry’. For further information email: julien@julienlabro.com |

 The Accordions Worldwide news for July 18th 1997 included news of a visit to Japan by leading Swedish accordionist and teacher Lars Holm, demonstrating the very international nature of our favourite instrument. Swedish Accordionist To Perform In Japan Contributed by Toru Katou Swedish accordionist Lars Holm will give a lecture and performance on August 2nd, from 2 to 4.30pm, at the Vieplan Theatre, Shinjuku, Tokyo (only a 30 second walk from Shinjukugyoenmae Station of Marunouchi Subway). Lars Holm will play a variety of accordion tunes including Swedish pop music on a chromatic accordion with both free bass and standard bass. In Japan, chromatic and free bass accordions are less popular than piano accordions, which most Japanese accordionists use with standard bass. The admission is 3,200yen. |

He has performed in dozens of countries, premiered many new works, and is one of Russia’s most accomplished musicians. |

 The 8th Bristol Cajun & Zydeco Festival takes place from October 14th to 16th at The Folk House, 40a Park Street, Bristol. The festival guests include visitors from France and Holland as well as top UK bands playing a mixture of traditional and modern Cajun and Zydeco:Fri evening: Madame Beau So’ (France) Sat afternoon: Cajun accordion artist Phil Underwood is back from the USA with his new band Colin and the Crawfish (photo above left). Sat evening: Front Row Zydeco (Holland) Sun afternoon: Acadian Driftwood (photo above right) Sun evening: Chris Hall’s Creole Kings (photo left) Also performing are the Whiskey River Boys at the bar on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, dance workshops by Kay Anderson (Zydeco) and Carol Wilson (Cajun), DJs and MCs Carole (Lil' Queenie) and Nigel (Flying Home) of Swamp Rock Club, London; jamming and a licensed bar and cafe - in short, a "A whole weekend of Louisiana-style music, dance, food, drink and meeting people!" And as it worked out so well last year, the festival again features late night sessions at the Folk House Cafe & Bar on both Friday and Saturday. Tickets will go on sale on Monday August 15th - and ticket prices will remain the same! |

| The second Akkordeon Akut Festival takes place from October 5th to 9th in Halle (Saale), Germany. Guests include The Motion Trio, from Poland, the duo Didier Laloy & S-Tres, from Belgium, the accordion ensemble LAESA (MD Lutz Stark), from Germany, and Attwenger, from Austria. The festival includes a ‘Swing Evening’ with the dancing studio Bela Soso, and the theatre project ‘Accordion Mystery’, featuring well known German actor Thomas Rhümann and accordionist Tobias Morgenstern (picture above).
