August 2009 in Auckland, Neuseeland, stattfindet. Ebenfalls neu erschienen sind die Regeln und Kriterien für die Musik jeder Kategorie des Wettbewerbs. Den Lehrern der internationalen Wettbewerbs Kandidaten wird empfohlen, die Website sorgfältig zu konsultieren wur, da einige Regeln sind für 2009 geändert wurden. Teodoro Anzellotti Film und Concert, Kalifornien– USAby Justin Urcis |
 Am 7. Dezember um 11 Uhr steht der Film "The Art of Seduction" - mit Teodoro Anzellotti am Akkordeon im Goethe-Institut, 5750 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90036 auf dem Programm. 1999 führte Uli Aumüller die Regie in diesem Film, der 45 Minuten dauert und auf Deutsch mit englischen Untertiteln ist. Der Film wirft eine gründliche Blick auf den Akkordeonisten Teodoro Anzellotti. Ein Dokumentarfilm reich an Performances und Interviews mit den Komponisten Luciano Berio, Salvatore Sciarrino und Vinko Globokar. Nach dem Film hat man die Möglichkeit an einer Diskussion mit Anzellotti und dem Musikwissenschaftler Luciano Chessa teilzunehmen, sowie eine Live-Performance der neuen Werke von Brice Pauset und Toshio Hosokawa zu geniesen. Das Goethe-Institut öffnet seine Pforten um 10.30 Uhr für Erfrischungen - das Programm beginnt pünktlichst um 11 Uhr. Am Montag, 8. Dezember um 20 Uhr gibt es mit Teodoro Anzellotti zusammen mit anderen Musikern in Konzert eine West-Coast-Premiere von "Avant-Garde durch alle Zeiten", komponiert von Michael Maierhof, in der Zipper Concert Hall an der Colburn School, 200 S. Chinesische "Sights und Sounds" in Beijing - Chinaby Professor Cao Xiao-Qing |
 Im Zentral Musikkonservatorium in Beijing wurde am 15. November ein Konzert mit dem Titel "Chinese Sights and Sounds " aufgeführt. Organisiert wurde dieses Konzert vom Professor Cao Xiao-Qing, Leherer am Musikkonservatorium in Beijing. Alle aufgeführten 24 Stücke aus der chinesischen traditionellen Musikwelt waren von dem bekannten Musikfachmann, Professor und Komponisten Bao Yuankai. |
Nationaler Komponisten Wettbewerb, Stoke – GBby Rob Howard |
 Alle 2 Jahre wird seit 2000 vom North Staffs Akkordeon Club seit 2000, der Nationale Akkordeon Musik Komponisten "Wettbewerb" durchegührt. Eine innovative Idee um junge Akkordeonkomponisten dazu zu ermutigen neue Stücke für das Akkordeon zu komponieren. Die NSAC hat daraufhin viele dieser Werke in Buchform und auf CD, aufgenommen, die von den Komponisten oder anderen Akkordeonisten gespielt werden. Von nun an wird dieser Wettbewerb auf jährlicher Basis durchgeführt vom National Accordion Organisation in Großbritannien (NAO)organisiert und während der GB Championships in Blackpool vom 24 bis 26. April 2009 durchgeführt. Der Komponisten "Wettbewerb“ hat im Gegensatz zu den letzten Editionen einige kleine Änderungen. Solo und Duette werden in einzelnen Kategorien bewertet. Wettbewerber können mit zwei Kompositionen in jeder gültigenn Sektion teilnehmen (Professionell, Amateur, Junior, Duet und Band / Gruppe). | Julien „Speedy“ Gonzales spielte auf der Internationalen Musik-Messe My Music in Friedrichshafen, Bodensee vom 14. bis 16. November am Hohner Stand. Hohner hatte eine große Akkordeon–Ausstellung und ein Musik Cafe mit „Speedy“, der die Genius und Fun Flash Akkordeons demonstriert hat. Auch weitere Akkordeonisten sind während der Messe aufgetreten. Das Akkordeon Bezirksorchester Bodensee spielte, Grünschnäbel & Alexander Cargnelli wurden von der Musikschule Trossingen präsentiert und „Speedy“ spielte auch zusammen mit Matthias Matzke, präsentiert vom Hohner Konservatorium Trossingen. |

 ‘Accordions International 2008’, held for the first time at Seacroft Holiday Village, Hemsby, Norfolk, was a great success, despite the late withdrawal of guest artiste Pino Di Modugno (Italy). The Lars Ek Hot Trio, from Sweden, returned to England after a long absence and made a big impression with their lively and engaging performances of music by Frosini, Pietro and Guido Deiro, Scandinavian traditional music, swing and hot jazz. Lars Ek also led a workshop on the music of Frosini. There were impressive performances from other guests, including Giancarlo Caporilli (Italy), Stefan Andrusyschyn & Denise Leigh (operatic soprano), Harry Hussey, Bert Santilly, and local accordion sextet Norvic Concordia (MD Peter Ayers). The festival orchestral workshops were ably led by Brian Jenkins, Peter Whiteley, Heather Smith, Adrienne Sharpe, Jean Hanger, Bert Santilly, and John Trigg. ‘Accordions International 2008’ continues a tradition of autumn accordion festivals in East Anglia founded by the late Malcolm Gee in 1986, previously held at nearby Caister and Pakefield.  As part of the New Names International Music, renowned Russian musician, violinist and bayanist Yuri Medianik has introduced a scholarship of his own. The scholarship is intended to reward a talented musician who will be selected after the auditions of all the three competition tours. Medianik is president of Pluri_Art Center of Classical and Folk Music that organizes concerts and master classes. Aside from the cash scholarship, the young musician will obtain artistic support from Pluri_Art center. The winner of the scholarship will announced during the competition closing ceremony on November 30 on the stage of the Great Hall of the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory. Yuri Medianik’s career continues to successfully benefit from this artist’s bi-instrumental talent.  Accordionist Romeo Aichino, from the family business that manufactures Cooperfisa (Cooperative) accordions in Vercelli, Italy, has released a CD titled ‘Cooperfisa Compilation’. The blend of tracks, from the lively ‘Luna Park Polka’ and ‘Jazz Musette Waltz’, to the brilliant ‘Via Donato 15 Tango’ (one of 5 tracks composed by Romeo himself), has a wide appeal.  On Saturday November 22nd, 6pm, accordionist Dominic Karcic entertains for a Regione Emilia-Romagna Dinner-Dance at Maestro's Caterers, 1703 Bronxdale Ave, Bronx, NY.Dominic Karcic attended New York College of Music and the City University of New York (CCNY), where he received his Masters Degree in Music. He plays professionally in the New York metropolitan area, and has a particular love for the Valtaro Musette style, gained through his years of study with Peter Spagnoli. In recent years he has been involved in the preservation and documentation of this musical style. He collaborated in writing a biographical article on the life and career of accordionist John “Scudlein” Brugnoli (founder of the Valtaro Musette Orchestra) and has continued writing articles about Valtaro Musette music. In June 2003, Dominic joined the Board of Governors of the American Accordionists' Association (AAA) and writes a column (“Heard It On The Gig”) for the AAA Newsletter. |

| Dawood Sarkhosh (born 1971) originates from Afghanistan, and is a versatile artiste who plays accordion and dumbara, sings and writes poetry. He studied the accordion under the Pakistani composer the late Arbab Ali Khan. Sarkhosh’s work is inspired by a sense of nationalism and suffering in exile, and Afghan refugees throughout the world support his concerts in large numbers.  Gorka Hermosa, from the Basque region of northern Spain, is a leading accordionist whose music includes classical, folk and jazz styles. After winning several competitions and performing a largely classical repertoire, Gorka Hermosa has diversified into other styles.
