Athos Bassissi and Massimo Tagliata Concert, Emilia-Romagna - Italy

Athos Bassissi
Accordionist Athos Bassissi (picture above) and pianist Massimo Tagliata perform together in concert on Wednesday January 29th, 9pm, at L’Altro Teatro, Galleria Giuseppe Carretti, Cadelbosco di Sopra, Emilia-Romagna, Italy.

Athos Bassissi studied the accordion and bandoneon with Glauco Caminati and Iller Pattacini, and developed a passion for the tango. He studied clarinet at the ‘Achille Peri’ Institute of Reggio Emilia, and then moved to Paris, where he performed for three years with the orchestra "Varietè Française", deepening his love for musette and tango. Later he played in Django's Fingers, a gypsy jazz group, and with them he explored the manouche jazz of the 1940s. He currently accompanies the Colombian tenor Hector Hernandez and the Italian-Latinoamerica Association, performing Latin American songs.
